Not easy to do that’s for sure.
The bodybuilders from his era were of a different breed. Their look and presentation of the human body were better than today's. Today is more about freakishness, not necessarily symmetry, balance and condition.
I personally think serj nubret walked allover Arnold in their day his definition is unmatched even today.

Years ago i tried grams of steroids. Slept 10 hours a day. Trained like a beast but i lack the genetics and eating was the hardest part. I just can't eat the same plain stuff every day multiple times a day. Those guys are on another level

lol I have no issues eating the same thing everyday. Me and Arnold both grew up in improvised nations and had to work hard to survive. Food is a luxury people don’t understand.

Most impressive diet I’ve heard was Jay Cutler answering what he ate, daily, while reigning Mr. O. He mentioned beef, chicken, rice, broccoli…. and then casually added 5 pounds of fish. Every day!!!! These people are on a completely different level.
Of course they are, they inject something regularly. Lmao, what they eat works for them, but for a natural. You gotta do more, yes it's hard work, it also includes studying, applying and remembering the mechanics of what you learned. Half of what they do works, but they aren't doing the other half that you need to do as a natural. For example, Arnold used to preach how he never slept. That would never work for a natural. Quality sleep is really important for health and your hormones.

I eat pretty much the same as Arnold did, i train everyday and I train hard, and have done it nearly 20 years. No big breaks from training. I am nowhere near Arnold. So make people think its how he ate, that makes a huge difference is so misleading. The only way to get Arnold massive is by using steroids.

Read his book. The way he grew up was unlike ANY of the other competitors. He came from the darkness of rural Austria, from the hell of desolation and regular physical abuse. He stepped out into the light and like a demon and he destroyed and obliterated everything and everyone in his way. Nobody stood a chance. They weren't ready for his mental strength and toughness.
His village is beautiful with stunning views, I'm sure Serge Nubret and Sergio Oliva had more impoverished childhoods.

The guy was the perfect bodybuilder. His face, the body, the height, the genetics. Carved from clay. To have all those things come together perfectly, very rare. Haven't seen it since.
Until Chris Bumstead, he's the closest thing we've seen since.
Food is like 70% of the work, then it's about exercise routine and level of resistance with frequency. Food is important, whether to lose or gain muscles.
These guys trained really hard, were diligent about their diets, and most of them had really good genes as well. But you can't leave out that they were taking Dianabol and other substances. The average schmuck could follow Arnold's diet to a tee for 10 years, train like an animal, and never look like Arnold. You'll improve, you'll look good, but you are not going to have a Mr Olympia physique. This is what I wish someone would have told me when I was a teenager.

If you are a newby and do a full body routine and did that consistently for an entire year you would gain 20lbs of muscle naturally with out steroids. The further away from your genetic peak, the faster gains will be. The better your genetics are, the more you can gain.
Muscle growth really starts to slow down once you have advanced development, but it happens rapidly in the beginning.
121 pounds, 5'7. 18 yrs. Gotta get the gains, not gonna do it by eating 2 lousy 700 calorie meals everyday. You can do anything you put your mind to, believe in yourself, dont ever let people tell you what you are capable of - it is your proactive choice to prove to yourself what your limits are.
Yeah. Having a focused diet and workout habits can you there somewhat. But you will never come anywhere close to a Mr Olympia physique without PEDs of some kind.
I did find this motivational. It should just be mentioned that bodybuilding at this level ALWAYS requires the addition of performance enhancing substances.

Remember, this is Arnold. For most of us with normal jobs and lives, it’s not sustainable (or necessary) to eat every 3 hours. Work hard, but adapt the message to your reality.

Once you learn about Mike Mentzer it's hard to take Arnold seriously
And once u learn Mike Mentzer's HIT over-fatigues ur nervous system and under-stimulates ur muscles with the ever increasing time off between workouts, its hard to take Mentzer seriously. I used to be a Mentzer disciple, and eventually discovered that less isnt better, moderate is better.

I’m sure some had trainers but these guys knew how to fine tune their own tailored look. You look at the guys on stage today, and if you blurred out their heads you wouldn’t know who’s who. Plus you got these “gurus” who pump these guys full of compounds and they all just look awful in the end. To each their own though, that’s just my opinion

Eating to be Mr. Olympia, is normal, healthy eating. It's as simple as it sounds. One just has to disipline him or herselve's in such ways. It does'nt have too get mind blowing until the last 6-4 weeks before the show.
