Hi I just want to say thank you for your video! I’m a gals that does not know much about cars and I recently got a Jeep of the same model and I’m working on it by myself. I changed the lift gate actuator all by myself thanks to your helpful video. So thank you very much for the step by step instructions on this guide.
Excellent video. Thank you. The advice on getting the white, yellow, and green fastener clips before the project was very helpful, as I broke off several on the removal of the panel.
I'm driving an 04 jeep grand cherokee, and intermittently the liftgate open notification pops up even when the liftgate is not or has not been opened. Would this fix help stop that notification?
There is a signal wire in the deck lid. I would imagine it's either a broken core wire there or more likely it's up towards the wire by the hinge in the rubber protection area. It's normal for this age and happens to a lot of them.
This might be a long shot but any chance you can confirm whether or not the three different sizes of fasteners are necessary or if any one size will fit all slots? Thanks!
There are the 3, BUT- You really don't need the different ones. I found the white ones were doing a good job. Just like legos, just check the fit. I have kits of these, and they are only under $10 for hundreds at a time. Don't fall for going to an autoparts store for Dorman or others that cost $4 and up for like 3 fasteners.
Funny story so I saw your video a while ago, and I bought the bought and was going to assemble everything today, but I realize the reason why it wasn’t locking was because there was no arm at all haha
If you open the window on the hatch, there are 2 screws where it latches you can remove. You can pull the plastic back after that and if you look inside while pulling the handle you'll see a moving wire. Put the wire into this plastic hole. The plastic breaks easily and it pops out of place often.
wow !! Fantastic work !!!!
Thank You.

This really just saved me a bunch of money and time.
Would this also be the reason why the liftgate alarm goes off when driving?
Yes, that's what ours did several times. It chimed weird once.

VERY HELPFUL VIDEO, THANK YOU
Donde se encuentra el relay de actuador de compuerta
Creo que es el fusible 8 debajo del tablero. Es un fusible de 15 amperios.
THANK YOU!!! You've been a great help!!!

excellent video
Nice job
Thanks!!!!
my Lift gate is locked. how do I unlock from the inside? I can only unlock my driver side door car with my key and the other doors from inside
There's a small hatch that you got to pop open and there's the little green and black lever sometimes just black that you can pop to unlock it
Funny story so I saw your video a while ago, and I bought the bought and was going to assemble everything today, but I realize the reason why it wasn’t locking was because there was no arm at all haha
🤣😂🤣Nice one.
I got the arm now but it won’t lock in place, what does that mean?
@@chandlernoble8722I would check that little arm to make sure it's in the right direction where it swivels onto the bolt that's plastic and odd shaped
@@TechReviewbyIrdi it is but that wire makes it where it gets out of place? Could it be something else?
Wait a second
What if you can’t get the hatch open at all and it’s stuck completely? Can you still access all the screws to get the plastic panel off?
HMM, GOOD QUESTION. I'll have to look. Have you tried the release inside the inside panel. (once you open that square)?
@@TechReviewbyIrdi yeah the whole thing broke off. I think it just got loose over time. Then finally disengaged and completely came apart.

@@christianalvarado7543 thank you. I ended up fixing it a couple weeks ago after. Appreciate the advice.
@@SebastianTheodore how'd you get the hatch open? Mine is broke and won't open
What is the price of parts 🙏
are these really around 70 bucks is that for real? ga damn expensive
Much cheaper now. Same with all the Mopar stuff, many copy cats that work well. Just check reviews first.
My hatch door and back widow won't open at all mine is 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee - now what
Did you get it to open yet? For some reason, this message was hidden. So I reset my filters.
What did u do? Mine won't open and makes a horrible noise when I press unlock on key fob!
