Thank You so much for showing me exactly what I need to fix the door actuator on my Jeep!!! You're instructions are excellent, easy to follow and I am left handed
It hasn't been a priority to replace the rear passenger door actuator, but now it is because less that two hours ago I was at a stop light and some random woman opened the rear passenger door and threw her kids in my Jeep then hopped in. I started recording after I asked her to get out, and the point is that I took to RUclips for a video just like this so that I can get this fixed this weekend. Thanks for being direct, and sorry about that weird story but I had to get that out.
Best video I've seen on this. Thanks! I just ordered a replacement actuator online, but it doesn't look like it comes with the two bars attached to it. Will this make things more difficult?
Great video! Did the metal arms come with new Actuator or did you reuse originals? thank you, I have this exact problem with my ladies jeep. and about to replace them thanks to this video!
My 2000 grand Cherokee had 2 small rods up top not one on the driver side. Spent a good 30 minutes fighting with it. Now to figure out why my passenger door doesn't always work from the driver side
yes, usually the mechanism inside the door latch gets stuck due to lack of lubrication. And then you can't get it to move by pulling on door handles, you have to remove the door panel and push/pull on the connecting rods to get the latching mechanism unstuck.
Can still be an actuator. My lift gate would lock but would not unlock, solution was a new actuator because the loving arm was only had powered movement in one direction.
My front locks make that noise but cant determine which one it is... is there on for each door? Got locked in side the drivers side the other day.....lol

You know a person has skills, when they can make it look easy! Nicely done, good work and encouraging. Thank you for the video.
Great video! You make it look easy and not as intimidating as I thought. Thanks!
Tools needed for this job, Phillips screwdriver, T-20, T-30, and a prying fork... First tool used? A standard screwdriver. Lol Nice video bud, thanks!
Great demonstration. Question, two actuators failed, do you recommend I replace the working ones as well?
I wouldn't, I would replace them as they go.. You're not really saving any time or money by replacing good working parts in this case.
So clear and easy to follow. Nice video.

No, just lay the two actuators side by side and switch the rods over from one to the other, should be a simple 1 min task
Thank u very much I just fixed mine today !
Do you need to reprogram the key fob after doing this job?
No

I pulled a used one from a junk yard, so I pulled it with the metal rods. If you're buying a new one - you'll have to transfer the old rods overs

Many thanks for this. Mine does exactly the same.
Would the actuator replacement make the door handle its self work to? The lock and door handles do not work inside or outside

hey and you know if you can fix the old actuator or do you recommend to use a new one?
Depends on what's broke, but I personally would get a new one
My problem is my door locks but doesn't unlock. Doesn't unlock with keyphob or the driver/passenger door.
Any insight?

Whoa, what tires are you rocking? Is this stock height or did you put a lift on it?
It was a customer's car, so I'm not sure. But hey, thanks! ))
How do you open the door if its shut
Where did u buy this part from i can't seem to find the right part for a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee limited
Bought it used at a junk yard
Mine is backseat driver side door--will it be basically the same process?
Pretty much, yes
Excellent vid. Thanks so much.
My front locks make that noise but cant determine which one it is... is there on for each door? Got locked in side the drivers side the other day.....lol
Yes, each door has its own lock actuator
where did you get your actuator from? buying a new one seems to be pretty spendy.
I bought a used one from u-pull and pay. Under $20. Here's a good website to see the listings from all the junk yards in your area
car-part.com
@@MakeItEasyMechanic thanks! I will check that out! :)
Expensive. The word is expensive, not spendy. Holy shit.
That was not a fix.....
That was a replacement....
What’s with the gloves?
Unfortunate you have to replace them just because of the noise! Thanks for the DIY vid
Mine makes the annoying noise, but doesn't unlock... I'm betting once the noise starts, the actuator is about to die.
