The WJs have a small square plastic cover slightly to the right and slightly below the center point of the interior hatch panel, as you look at it. You simply pop this cover by gently prying the edge, and it gives you access to a lever that, when pressed with your finger, unlocks the hatch. That cover is actually missing on the Jeep in this video. There is no need to take out any screws or use any tools, except for something to pry the cover.
Thank you man! You sound like me working on my jeep, "put this thing into this #$@ thing, break this thing out of your way, jam this here lol.". Life saver tho. 🙏
door unlock is not releasing the rear glass. All the other doors unlock. Do Jeeps have a separate button for the rear. I don't know why this isn't talked about
Is the trunk unlocked once you do this? Or do you have to do this every time? My window is stuck on passenger side & it effect my trunk & passenger side back window too
I'm watching this as my 2001 wj was making a nasty noise from the rear when unlocking from key fob. Locking it was a normal sound! Now both rear hatch and boot are locked and won't unlock! Anyone know if it's one part that's failed, or two parts failed at the same time? What should I replace?
@@terrystratford1235 it doesn’t seem to be that hard of a fix. You could save yourself a decent amount by just buying the actuator yourself. I wanna say it’s gonna run around $300ish for mechanic to fix. I wanna say the part is less than $80 itself
@Ryantrock8888 I buggered my back 25 years ago. I'm 49 and fat! I'd rather let my mechanic do it! He's a great guy, his own company, he does a great job and doesn't charge me much! I'm very close to where he lives, so waves the call out charge! I get him work, we have a great professional relationship!
They can’t apologize, you realize that? They will get a huge hit with their ESG score if they do. Larry Fink will bank roll them, so the CEO will get his bonus, but the little guy will take the hit. It’s a transfer of wealth. I wouldn’t be surprised if they all bought short stock on bud light before all of this. I’d advise people to look into Blackrock’s Aladdin software. It’s an AI algorithm that can accurately predict the stock market.
THANK SO MUCH. I LITERALLY ALMOST TURNED INTO THE INCREDIBLE HULK AND RIP OFF THE DOOR!!! 😊😊😊 YOU EXPLAINED THAT VERY WELL. 👍
Thank you!
I was at a loss till I found your vid!

I’m guessing that’s the locking actuator
@@Ryantrock8888 should be!? My mechanic will get on it!
