We went up close to the glacier on Disney cruise and it was identical to the picture you showed of glacier bay. I think you just missed out on the opportunity due to weather

Another reason to go back! lol although I’ve heard this before that it’s hit or miss on whether DCL goes close to the glacier and stays in the inside passage.
