Joel-then he should be a teacher because composing great riffs and melodies doesn't seem his branch. Get out your back alley or mom's basement there is guitarists out there!to be discovered by you,,
Its all about breaking in them strings.Once the strings are stretched out, my EVH standard stays in tune no matter how hard I am on the wammy bar.I had to tune the g string once in a week cuz it went a little flat.I bet Steves guitar tech changes the strings after every 3rd or 4th show, just to maintain the tone brilliance.
This was a real highlight for me at the Glasgow gig - always loved this and to hear the band play it live was simply amazing. This song has such groove
I tried, once again, to be "amazed"...he just does not do it for me. I liked the material with DLR back when, saw the first tour. I then ran out and bought "Flex-able," and was expecting something different. "Passion & Warfare" sounded too processed. I think it's why I'm not into Satch any more either...too processed, and "see what I can do." Oh well.
It’s not the worlds best tone, however it is recognizable as the Vai tone, just as Satch has that huge midrange sound. And just as with other greats like EVH, it doesn’t really matter what he plays on, currently it’s the Synergy preamp, but it doesn’t sound any different than before 😄 Satch has the catchy singalong melodies and Vai has some cool groovy warfare riffs… besides the obvious fretboard fireworks
Shredders LEARN. Vai may not have the speed of the new gen of shredders, BUT...his pieces are INTERESTING and grabs the listener's attention. It's not just widdly-widdly-wanky-wanky.
This can't be the first time you've come across how the rest of the world formats dates... There's the US way, then everyone else. (Actually, I can't categorically state that it's "everyone", but the vast majority use dd-mm-yyyy)
No way! Ed was in the song writing business. Steve's in the guitar business. Two different worlds. And if you think Ed was scared of anyone on the fretboard. He wasn't. He appreciated it. No one sounded like Ed
I’d say touring as a pro guitarist for 42 years, creating a fab guitar, writing music and having a lucrative/successful career makes him pretty darn great 😀
@@RockinRich71 Good point. Vai as a young man played with Zappa. Say no more. Vai is right up there. Apples and Oranges at that level. Maybe I prefer those listed. I seen Vai with G3. It was great. Every fan has there preferences.

I disagree. I think he has written some very cool songs and did awesome arrangements of those with the dutch metropole orchestra. Very unique in his own right…
@@blu3fire243 Yeah I've played guitar for years. I just dislike it when a player displays technical ability over and above the music. Same with Yngwie Malmsteen and his spandex torturing and destruction of Bach. I find mindless finger twiddling boring, but that just me. If this is your thing - fine, who I'm I to say otherwise.

The world's best stunt guitarist. Vai can do more techniques in one song than most guitarists can do in a lifetime.

The only thing that amazes me more than Steve's playing is the fact that his guitar stays in tune after all his whammy acrobatics!
Quality worn in strings and a quality floyd rose with locking nuts.

@@xXAlmdudlerXx And quality Thomas Nordegg's awesome work. Steve will not due a show without Tommy there.
It's a double locking trem, locking both nut and saddle. He helps Ibanez develop it for him to be able to use it like that.
We music lovers have to cherish this man’s genius. He carved out a niche for himself that no one can deny
I can honestly say this guy knows every trick in the book
So glad Vai is doing live shows again wow after the injury he had.

A musical treasure and an inspiration.
Still got the chops at 62. Highly impressive!
Wow. For a man in his mid-seventies, he’s tearing it up! Keep rockin!

@@mariolama5325 I can’t believe he’s playing guitar after hitting triple digits
The truth is that even professional musicians 100% make mistakes on stage,
but this guy doesn't, that's how good Vai is.
Practice at least 10 hours a day for 30 40 Year maybe you can
Still got it nice live performance love it
Truly amazing 🤩
Just attended his concert in Paris last Monday ! 🤘 it was great to see him so close like that.
G.O.A.T.
I love he still does the start of the song with a video of the guitar duel from crossroads
He could be famous one day
Genius!
This footage is stunning! Did you film anymore of the show then what you've already uploaded. Would LOVE to see more :) Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this! Going to his gig at Pustervik in Gothenburg sat 18:th; so stoked, seems like it can be one hell of a gig!
This song is so nostalgic to me...
MASTER.
Steve Vai , guitar god !!
Wizard !
He's a Master. a monster......
The GOAT.
The end.
Steve Genius Vai
3:25 it caught me so off guard when he stared into my soul
Via's expressions are his guitar..Another Tru Grit player.
Judge Judy never disappoints!
Волшебник Стив !!
It's amazing. He even doesn't need a sustaniac to play with long notes and whammy bar. Living god
We can clearly a sustainiac pickup in the neck position....
A light up PIA? That is great.
Finalmente i tasti luminosi , ottima idea per suonare nei locali , sui palchi poco illuminati (tutti) , e comunque molto buona per noi vecchietti
Is anyone not touring at the moment?

Steve makes more faces than Robin williams lol, always an entertainer and great musician.
I asked him why he does that and thats how he remebers where he is in time in the song, its his feeling stick.
You sure this happened 7/6/22? We’re just in June 22. Could this be Steve via in the future

who is the drumer ?

Steve Vai he is play and good guitars history on Joe satriani and do you like concert going músic and band in american
