Thank you for introducing me to the original @zemanoshtronz & @mmartin1030! As you can see, I really loved it!
What I forgot to mention in the video is that I was doing the reaction to both Ikanaide and soon-to-be-published Perdere l'Amore on the same day. Funnily enough, both are about losing love in the twilight of one's life, from totally different cultures, but the same feeling permeates them. Love is the same regardless where you're from, right?
The sound is too low. Please check.
It was low in the original video and I kept it at the same level as all the others. This particular version was requested.
Ikanaide is not about lost love, but lost beloved famous actress in China (japanese heritage), who after her recognition was almost killed (they accused her for spying, although she was not, during 2. WW) and then someone saved her in court but she had to leave China for good.
Oh dear, I completely misunderstood it then. Thank you for correcting me!
Who was that actress? Where can I find the full story?

Dimash lets you listen to the song, Koji Tamaki lets you feel the song.
Well put! 😉
I love Koji's voice & how he brings out so much emotion. He first recorded this when he was a lot younger & he still maintains the emotion perfectly. Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much 😊🙏💞
I thought it was gorgeous and so filled with emotion. I am very glad we agree. Koji deserves ❤
I tend to have the same reaction as you but to Dimash's performances (I've only seen him in videos) generally. I'm always blown away by his unbelievable technique without connecting emotionally to the song. This video, which I've not seen before, and your analysis of it is a good example of this.
I can't say Dimash doesn't connect emotionally at all. Quite the opposite, he does try to feel the song.
Still, I think he is forced by the uniqueness of his voice to keep his main focus on the varied techniques. I mean, it's not even his choice anymore. That is what everyone is expecting of him. Then, there's always a different language to sing in, so I tend to believe that he simply cannot focus on everything.
This is different - Koji's song, Koji's language, no need for an elaborate display, just singing with emotion.
This song was new to me as well, so I'm glad that someone else found it through my channel. ❤
@@AleksReacts I understand, everyone's different. And I think you're probably right about the pressure of expectations. Highly gifted artists, from an early age, are especially admired and rewarded for their technical brilliance. Maybe I just need to listen to more of his work, but it would take an effort, except for his performances of Kazakh and related folk songs.
Thank you for your reaction, don’t forget about national characteristics and mentality. In Japan, emotionality was considered reprehensible until recently
I did know reserved behavior was preferred, but I did not know that emotionality was considered reprehensible. Thank you for sharing that. Are you from Japan?

Btw Dimash is not always just high notes.😜
It feels that way, though. His high notes are the most prominent. Anything I should specifically listen to for low notes?
@@AleksReacts Try Olimpico pls.

@@AleksReacts This is the second time I'm writing a comment with a link to Olimpico, since my first comment disappeared.
Thank you, Elena! It wasn't showing it to me in the RUclips studio or on the video itself. I only found it through notifications. I don't know what's happened, but I am NOT deleting anyone's comment. In any case, now it's added to the list.

@@AleksReacts thank you.
The original original was sung by Koji as a young man, is the full song, and is better than this reprise.
I assumed this was the best version, as it was distinctly recommended.
So much more poignant coming from an older man.
Precisely how I felt.

Ok.
Thank you for your understanding. I will try to fix this in the future. Personally, I turn the sound way up for any song that's too low - not the best solution, I know, but it kind of works. 😉
