The fact of the matter is that the white people that are getting targeted are innocent, hard working FARMERS. If you look at what Apartheid was suppose to be, it would have been actually quite good. It was a plan for people to develop their own communities. Unfortunately evil is paved with good intentions. No resources was given for the homelands to develop themselves, they didn't have a vote in what happens in the country (or homeland) and they were treated as second rate citizens. That is where it all went wrong. Apartheid in its eventual form had to end, no doubt about that. I so wish people around the world would study South Africa for what it is, once a white minority-controlled country that experienced a peaceful transition of power to a black majority-controlled country. What transferred was a burgeoning first-world country. What exists now is perceived to be a failing third-world country. Eskom, the state-owned power corporation cannot keep the lights on. We've had rolling blackouts since 2006 that are getting rapidly worse. The unemployment and crime rates are out of sight. All infrastructure is in rapid decline. The government can only be described as entropic. Not that much has changed for the average black South African. Any white South African who can afford to leave has left. Right now, Cape Town, the city where I live, is experiencing a brutal taxi war. You can google this if you are interested. People are waiting for upwards of five hours for a bus, and others are walking home late into the night in streets that aren't particularly safe anyway, many of them with school-going children. There is some truth to what you say. I born in 1980, and I never even know about any of the horrors of apartheid until I took a December holiday job at 17 at Cape Union Mart (In the warehouse). It is here where they educated me on things that happened and I was in disbelief. My second big education was when I started working in Kuwait. A South African (black, although I hate using colonial terms like black and white, etc) was working in the same organization and we became flatmates. He spoke more about the issues modern blacks are facing and again this was an eye opener. I have now been out of SA since 2014, so I do not know if people in South Africa today have a better understanding of each other, but when I see so many people in support of killing others, I would say no.

I don't think there isn't a single Afrikaner who doesn't know of a friend of family member who has been effected by the farm attacks. By the looks of it, a lot of internationals agree with it. If you look at what Apartheid was suppose to be, it would have been actually quite good. It was a plan for people to develop their own communities. Unfortunately evil is paved with good intentions. No resources was given for the homelands to develop themselves, they didn't have a vote in what happens in the country (or homeland) and they were treated as second rate citizens. That is where it all went wrong.
Apartheid in its eventual form had to end, no doubt about that. They could have handled the transition better and not give it to the Communists, which the Afrikaners tried to push out of the South. The current South Africa is the result of what Communism can do. In the negotiations, the ANC promised to help the Afrikaners look for their own "Volkstaat", but of course when the ANC had control of the country, they had no intention of doing that.

I'm South African. I'm elderly now and have lived here all my life. I so wish people around the world would study South Africa for what it is, once a white minority-controlled country that experienced a peaceful transition of power to a black majority-controlled country. What transferred was a burgeoning first-world country. What exists now is perceived to be a failing third-world country. Eskom, the state-owned power corporation cannot keep the lights on. We've had rolling blackouts since 2006 that are getting rapidly worse. The unemployment and crime rates are out of sight. All infrastructure is in rapid decline. The government can only be described as entropic. Not that much has changed for the average black South African. Any white South African who can afford to leave has left. Right now, Cape Town, the city where I live, is experiencing a brutal taxi war. You can google this if you are interested. People are waiting for upwards of five hours for a bus, and others are walking home late into the night in streets that aren't particularly safe anyway, many of them with school-going children. It is a very interesting model that indicates very clearly that racism is a veneer that hides the real issue which is that of power.

There is some truth to what you say. I born in 1980, and I never even know about any of the horrors of apartheid until I took a December holiday job at 17 at Cape Union Mart (In the warehouse). It is here where they educated me on things that happened and I was in disbelief. My second big education was when I started working in Kuwait. A South African (black, although I hate using colonial terms like black and white, etc) was working in the same organization and we became flatmates. He spoke more about the issues modern blacks are facing and again this was an eye opener. I have now been out of SA since 2014, so I do not know if people in South Africa today have a better understanding of each other, but when I see so many people in support of killing others, I would say no.
