Good video. I'm keeping in mind that my '06 Tundra is just that (i.e. 15 years old) so with that kind of age, there will be some rusting (especially on the top headlight mounting screw). One of them did not want to come loose, so I sprayed it first, then used a flat leveraging tool to ease it out while unscrewing it. Also, as speedrrracer touched on, the plastic push pins that the engineers chose to use aren't the easiest to get back into the vehicle after taking them out so you may have to buy new ones; in my case, I didn't care so much, so I taped the business-end of each one, pushed them back into the top of each mount, and ripped the tape off so they could provide some holding power again. Glad to have clean looking lights again (although one of the ones shipped from Amazon had a bad bulb < didn't buy them from 1A; if I had, I think all of the bulbs would have been good to go !) ; Thanks 1A !
I have an 06 limited SR5 first gen tundra… she’s my baby but recently I ran her into a metal fence. The headlight, hood, and bumper need to be replaced and I’m wondering what I should do. ( I’m a 22 YO female and am just trying to learn how to recover from this accident) I’m actively looking for collision mechanics but I’m worried they’ll take advantage of me/ any idea if there’s a way I can order those parts and replace them myself? I literally have no clue what to do and no one to really ask ab this kind of stuff.
The video doesn't do a very good job on the side light assembly removal. It would be helpful if the video first showed how it was held in by tabs located on the side lights that actually slides back into the fender. It would then be obvious that the side light assembly needs to be slid fwd a little first before trying to remove so as not to break the tabs on the side light assembly.
Dido on the commend about more information about the side lamp assembly. I broke mine because I didn't know about the front clip. That should have been showed in this. When she said "a lot is going on" when she replace it she was right. It would have been extremely helpful to be shown what that was.
I tried to do it without directions and couldn't figure out how to get the bolt out from under the turn signal. Lol glad you had these instructions they are awesome 👍👍👍
Quick easy instruction on removal turn signal marker. MOST IMPORTANTLY: had great lighting, as well as a good camera; so I was able to see the tab that the turn signal was attached. The other five videos I watched did not have this viewing angle. Great work thank you. :-)
I recommend doing a text over on the side marker light issue. Look at your comments section. You caused many of us to break our corner lights. JUst text over the video.
Bought new headlight assemblies for my 2005 Tundra from 1A-auto. I like this company, however the headlights were made in Taiwan and not an exact fitment for my truck. I had to shim the inboard mount on both drivers and passengers side with a stack of 5 washers, or a broken plastic mounting tab on the lens housing would have been a certainty. In addition, the drivers side light had been installed before, and must have been returned. I know this for a fact because there was a crack in the plastic mounting bracket where a previous buyer had attempted to install the light without using washers as a spacer. Fortunately I was able to resolve these problems. The lights were half the cost of Toyota factory lights, so it was a wash for me.
+Jon Denham We currently do not have an auto repair video that covers this particular repair. We will keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com
Purchased headlights from this company and the inner brackets are wrong. My originals bolt down like this video and you sent me lights that have an inner bracket that bolts sideways.
I need help from the experts out there. My neighbor has a 2005 Tundra SR5 access cab V8. A couple of years ago, she replaced her headlights with new aftermarket housings. Since then, her headlights only give off a a very defined straight beam of light. No spread of the light to the sides of the road. The high beams are just as bad. It's literally horrible. The bulbs are inserted into the housing correctly. She asked me about it, and we tried some different bulbs. That did nothing to change the pattern. So, I'm going to order some new housing and try again. In the lower corners of the housings, there is another light built into the housings. We have no idea what that does, and cannot find a switch to turn it on. The lights do hook into the vehicle wiring harness but I can't find any info on its purpose. Am I missing something easy? Both of the housings are crappy in the same way, so I'm guessing they are just junk and we need new ones. And, what do the extra lights do? Any advice is appreciated!!! Thank you!
+DAN MIDKIFF We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
@@1AAuto thank you for your reply. I'm going to do some troubleshooting on the situation to see if it may be an electrical issue, and not a mechanical problem. I enjoy your videos! Thanx again!!!!
ray smith53 seconds ago (edited)I pulled the clear covers on the turn lts. completely off on my 2004 The clip in front wasn't about to let go. I beat the old headlight out with a hammer and gained complete access. Very satisfying as well!
I just did the same thing. Yes, they don't pop out easy. Used a screwdriver and scratched the paint, but got it out sans clear cover. I glued that on with plastic glue afterward. Both of them.
I’m guessing there’s a need to remove the grill, but it’s not hard to figure out? This video starts, seemingly, part of the way through. Good info though.

Excellent tutorial ! About to change both headlight and turn signal assemblies on a 2000 Tundra SR5.
Sue is the best ! And hailing from Boston area I didn't need to turn on subtitles! 😊 Thanks, Sue and 1A Auto!

NO WAY!!! That’s where my headlight adjusters are!? Thanks!!!

So do you have to usually then adjust it? If so. how? Thanks. Great video.
How do you adjust the headlight? Does anyone know? Or they are ready come set?
You need a 8” or longer Phillips. There are slots in the back of the headlight that guide your screwdriver down to the adjusting gears

Can you send a link for the left & right headlamp. I would like to purchase them.
How do you replace the nut stud under the turn signal? I lubed it but it still snapped off. 😢

Would have been nice to show how to adjust the headlight too. Installation is only 80 percent fo the job!
Do you have a link where I can buy that plastic push pin shown at 4:58? Thanks!
Thank you! Just did my lights watch your video to reference 🙏

My corner marker lights didn’t come out that easily. The clips refused to let go. I had to bust them into pieces and buy a new set.
Very helpful. Thank you for sharing.✌️

My side marker will NOT come out
