I've planted chufa for over 20 years. I always make my better stands of chufa during early to mid August. I'm located in SC also. When I plant chufa any earlier I have much more trouble with weeds and grasses and the droughts are usually worse. Several of my friends say they make great chufa planting as late as September even further north than I'm located.

Question: if I drill the chufa, does it prefer 15 inch rows? Plug every other port in a 7.5 inch drill?
