    I’ll be interested to see if the proving grounds continues to employ mineral licks, when CWD becomes pertinent? Think about it carefully.

      Scott - That's an older episode. We've been a CWD unit for two years now and it's illegal to place feed and minerals for deer.

    God is in everything we see and experience in nature. Due to my job and life in general, I miss getting out in nature and listening to God’s stillness.

    Our property use to have all kinds of turkeys on it but now we only see a handful every year. Hoping a food plot will bring them back. Any other ideas as to what could have drove them all away?

      Tanner - it sounds like the habitat changed there or on the neighboring properties. Habitat drives turkey populations.

    So if you’re planting clover in the fall what is the best thing to plant for turkey in the spring?

      Nate - Turkeys like clover and the bugs in clover stands! - grant

    I have a bunch of turkeys on my land during deer season but they seem to move on in the spring, if I was to plant a food plot would it keep the turkeys around in the spring? That might be a stupid question but the turkeys are there literally all during the fall but they seem to disappear and I hunt big hardwood timber that doesn't have any food plots so I'm thinking that's the reason why they leave.

      Dylan - During the spring, hens move to good nesting and brooding habitat and the toms follow. This is usually habitat that's thick from the ground to about 2 feet tall but isn't thick at the ground level so poults can walk around. Turkey Poults have very short legs and thick vegetation at ground levels is a trap for them. Turkey eat such a wide variety of foods that groceries are rarely a limiting factor - especially for adult turkeys.

    If i plant clover plots and have open roads will the turkeys start using my property and roost there

    • @GrowingDeerTV
      @GrowingDeerTV  7 лет назад

      Probably if there are turkeys in the area (on neighboring properties). Turkeys like large open areas. They aren't good at avoiding predators in thick cover.
      If there a no turkeys travel across where you hunt now it's unlikely they will expand their range rapidly.
      Enjoy creation, Grant

    So how do you add sulfur or boron?

    • @GrowingDeerTV
      @GrowingDeerTV  3 года назад +1

      Clever - it can be added to custom blended fertilizers at most fertilizer plants.
