I have hinted for years and never knew bout using your long range pins on close shots from the blind it makes me wonder if this is why I have missed when we had Tom's real close and the arrow goes rt over the bird completely ruining chances of shooting him,lol thanks grant for the tip

Grant, Unfortunately I do not have a no till drill. In the past I have been planting by broadcasting into soil that I disc with the tractor,. After watching your videos for months I really want to get out of the habit of tearing up the soil and use the "buffalo system". If I plant the fall buffalo blend in the fall would broadcasting beans still be effective in getting enough seed to soil contact? Thanks for your time!

Garrett - Yes - I broadcast Eagle Seed's Fall Buffalo Blend into standing beans. It's best to broadcast just before or during a rain and when the beans have matured or been browsed enough that some sun is reaching the soil. The seedlings will need sun to be productive! - grant

Thanks Grant! Would broadcasting the beans in the spring into the standing fall buffalo blend be just as effective?

Hi Grant, just subscribed a few months ago and am really enjoying your videos and the great information. I am approaching retirement and would like to start traveling out of state to hunt. I was wondering if you folks hunt public land or are you hunting private land? If you are hunting private land, is there any chance you could do a video on the process you go through for locating the property you want to hunt and what is involved in gaining access to the property? Guided hunts are pretty expensive and I doubt my wife will let me do much hunting out of state at the prices I've seen quoted. I don't mind hunting public land but I've had a few folks tell me that it can sometimes get a bit crowded and a little dangerous if you don't take precautions so I would rather avoid that if I could. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. And keep up the great work and God Bless!

First off, we are glad you've joined the Growing Deer Team! We hunt a lot of private land. These properties often are owned by our friends. Don't be afraid to knock on doors and get permission to hunt on private. Unfortunately, you may find that many have leased out their properties or don't allow hunting. However, it can be worth the work. When looking at new properties to hunt, we like to evaluate access. We want to be able to enter, hunt, and exit without alerting deer. We also like to know about the hunting pressure on the surrounding properties. There are some great public land hunting spots out there. Public land is a lot of work but it is also satisfying when you are able to tag a public land critter. We are happy to answer any other questions! -Daniel

Just try to that 40-yard pin trick at under 10 yards when shooting from a sitting position for turkey and it works awesome. It's too bad I can't post pictures into RUclips

I have 40 acres and I have many neighbors they all hunt and disturb the land.we have lots of deer but not many mature bucks what can I do to grow deer and maximize my chances

DAP - If the neighbors are tagging immature bucks, it will be tough to increase the number of mature bucks in the neighborhood. To attract more deer, consider the best sources of food, cover, and water in the neighborhood and try to add the one that's the most limited to where you hunt.

hey i am looking to buy a new deer rifle but i dont know what i should get i live in the ozark mountains? what should i get?

    • @GrowingDeerTV

There are a lot of things to consider Izak. We use a Winchester .308. However, a .223 or .243 are also great calibers for deer. -Daniel
