Dude, I was at a standstill; this post helped. It worked for me, and like you, I'll use it for a bit till I get the time to take it in for repair. Very appreciative to this shared knowledge.
In case this solution still doesn’t fix your 2100 error, how about giving a try to remove the hard drive and the SATA connector and then replug them again, as 2100 error says hard drive cannot be detected so the issue could be due to loose connection of hard drive. This finally resolved my own 2100 error.
I had the same problem on a S230U Lenovo Twist. I replaced the MB and the HDD and the HD connector/controller and had the same problem. By accident, as a result of testing I installed the HD without the bracket that holds it in place. Voila it has not failed once since then. It has been running flawlessly for 2 months or more now. I havent bothered to reinstall the bracket since it is running great. There is almost no extra room in the HD compartment so I am not worried about it flopping around. Only thing I can figure is there is some kind of static buildup with the bracket installed. I tried bending the bracket to see if I could make it contact the MB to discarge static if that was the case. No good. Removed the bracket, and it worked immediately. I don't know if that will work for you but it worked for me.
PROBLEM SOLVED. It has been 3 months since I had this problem. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. (1st. generation) When the 2100 problem occurred, I powered the computer down and returned a few hours later and restarted it while it was plugged in. Everything was up and running as nothing never happened. 3 day's later, again with the 2100. When the computer started working again I decided to install the latest windows update and it worked. It has been 3 months and I haven't had this problem. By all means I'm not a computer expert. I don't think this is a hardware problem. I think it's a software problem. Then again I could be dead wrong. I guess what I'm trying to say is it doesn't hurt to update not only windows but everything that has to do with your computer next time you get it up and running. UPDATE EVERYTHING BEFORE 2100 RETURNS. It is of my highest of hopes that this will help you. I wish you well.
this is what fixed my T430. in the power options/change what power button does, uncheck fast startup (even though it says 'recommended'). i have not had the error since
I had similar problem with my ThinkPad X240 and I took it apart and then removed built-in 24gb ssd (I think it was faulty or something, probably not working correctly), and its cable and now I'm not getting that error anymore and it's working fine
I'm getting the same as a few other posters below. My diagnostics screen is not displaying my SSD. Only displaying CPU, Memory, Motherboard, PCI-e...etc. No storage device.
the {{quick storage device test }} Does not show to me .. i just have the 2 other option {{quick memory test}} and {{exit the application}} what now ?? how can i fix my lap??
first press power, then F10 repeatedly, press esc,,,to reach diagnostics screen,,on 'quick memory test 'press enter,,then move to quick storage test,,press enter,,,,then 'run test'press enter ,,,,then esc,,,then enter,,....after each time press enter of course let it run and finish before next move,,sorry if its not too clear ,,hope this helps a bit
I Also have THE Same problem i only get THE ouick memory test And exit apllication i dont get THE ouick storage divece test. Can someone help me put how to fix this problem Please
I didn't find it either but there were two types of memories, quick one and another one which I don't remember the name of now, anyhow, I did both and my laptop worked after that.
@@Gruxxan where do you find the power button, I can only find Lenovo diagnostics and the bios page. I don't have the quick storage test only the memory test
Me salía este error y no sabia por qué, resulta que encontré la solución en los comentarios, era la batería, se la quite para usarla con la corriente, quien lo iba a decir
There is actually a way to fix this problem. It requries some screwing and some physical work but you can actually fix that The problem lies in the connections with the motherboard
lol sorry I had cancer in my throat (twice) and radiotherapy treatment kinda made it difficult to talk clear ,,I am infact very lucky to even be able to talk lol
