    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  10 месяцев назад +6

      Yes you get an hourly rate for On-boarding AND Orientation. Free hotel rooms too. Plus during the first week (On-Boarding) they provide you with lunches. The 3rd and 4th week you will be with a trainer M-F you will get 240 a day and stay in your own hotel room for free or go home daily if you live close enough.

    Good thing about going private. I don't think Walmart is going to go bankrupt or union strikes anytime soon. Good Job Man! Just don't know if I could handle the control aspect of it. They have a terminal out of Hurricane, UT but I never see them hiring.

    • @ThisTruckingLife

      I'm glad I got on. There's no union here...at least I don't think there is. What I like is that I tell them when I'm available to work and how long. If I'm feeling like crap I can shut down early or start later. Lots of freedom compared to the other company jobs I've had. Be safe driver

      i am thinking of applying for walmart driver.

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  9 месяцев назад +1

      It's 3 days and the fourth is test day. If you mess up you can try again on th fifth day or come back the next week for "finishing school" all pay you. You will be with a trainer for 10 days. It's a Monday through Friday thing and if you have to stay out on the road for any reason you will stay in separate hotel rooms each night. As far as doing OTR and owning your own truck that's a huge risk ask me how I know of course I was my own authority so results did very LOL but 110,000 A Year Without the risk of paying for every little thing that happens to the truck and every license and permit yeah I'll pass I would rather pocket the money and be home more often with paid vacation you'll like it here they don't micromanage. If you could do me a solid when you talk to a recruiter ask them if you could put me down on the app as a reference that helps me out you can watch my most recent video explaining how that can help both of us out.

    Will Walmart hire drivers with automatic restriction? My CDL school’s manual truck broke down and I was forced to test in an automatic

    • @ThisTruckingLife

    I tried Walmart took a big pay cut ,if you are a big fleet driver it will be a pay increase for You , you are used to being monitored 24-7 when they tell you they don't watch the inside camera don't believe them they do, I'm glad I gave Walmart a try I worked out of Beaver Dam could not average more than 2200 miles no matter how hard I tried I could end up in Northern Minnesota with a load of returns to greenfield In should be an 800 mile run only to return the load to menoneme or Beaver Dam for a senior driver to get the long run I became an otr driver for the independence , not to be micro managed , Walmart is better than the orange ,blue ,lite yellow and red trucking companies but if your the independent type , I would stay away ,as far as Walmart truck driving school and that is what it is, for backing I set up and backed in between the two trailers they staged on one shot , I was told if I did that again I would fail ,I had been a driver trainer at one point in my career, I knew how to perform a dot pre trip , but was told if I did the same thing tomorrow I would fail , needless to say I was not impressed with many of there professional Road team trainers , to be honest I wish i had quit the second day I was there i could have returned to my previous employer where I was already grossing 2 grand a week hard flatbed work but treated as a professional i was just looking for easier work .

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  2 месяца назад +1

      Results will vary. I've tried everything but flatbed and fuel. This is by far the best. If you play their game you are rewarded. The onboarding backing procedure I did like you said the first time...they want to see how good you follow instructions. It's not for everyone. I work 5 days a week not far from home and easilyI still make 2k a week and right around 2000 miles a week. The benefits are worth so much more to me as well. Thanks for the comment driver! Be safe out thereon those highways and byways.

    Do trucks have driver facing cameras?

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  3 месяца назад

      Yes and no. Yes there is a camera facing the inside no that camera is not actually set up to record at all supposedly. That camera is one piece it's outward facing but also there is the cab camera they say is not activated. I mean if you're looking at Walmart as a career prospect you shouldn't really be worried if there's a camera looking at you while you're driving their truck you should be super safe and do the right thing every time all the time.
