My thoughts are that a line that has both Brennan Johnson popping off of the wing as well as Timo Werner running down the middle is going to be entertaining due to the overwhelming pace of both players. Throw in Son trailing behind by a few steps and playmakers like Maddison and Kulusexy flicking off beatiful pass after beautiful pass..... Its at least going to be entertaining.
I would love to see Richi on the wing and Johno in the middle, he hits the ball so clean. Richi has the speed and his passing is far better then his finishing ATM. Tino isn't the answer imo. But ange has a nack of bringing in the right people. So for spurs fans id be excited.
Chelsea fan here and I agree with this analysis of Timo. Yes he was a poor finisher, but he was a young player needing time to settle in the right position amidst Chelsea’s background chaos and that never really happened. Two things not mentioned and difficult to quantify: 1.) Timo was offside, a lot. Some of that was his fault but there were numerous times CFC’s midfield didn’t play him through quick enough, negating chances and goals. Kovacic, Jorginho, et al appeared unable to calibrate their progressive passes to his pace. 2.) He was really intelligent at creating space for others. Look no forther than Kai’s UCL-winning goal against City. It was Timo’s run that cleared the space for Mount’s through ball to Kai. All in all I think he’s a good player and will do well at Spurs.
Clear minded, insightful and articulate ... mate, you've just shook up my long held belief that every Chelsea fan is a belter ... it was uncalled for and a bit rude to be honest 😉
Completely agree with your assessment. There is one major issue with Timo, and two major results from that: He does not have a good touch on the ball, so he is looking down constantly. 1) He misses easy chances, because he just isn't good with the ball. 2) He then guesses at passes a lot, some work and some don't. His speed and positioning are incredible, so he will cause a lot of problems to defenders. I'm hoping he does well. I always liked Timo.
I believe that Timo at Chelsea It's something that could've happened to Darwin Nunez, but he arrived at the team with the right manager and atmosphere that supports his upsides while working on downsides. I think that's probably what's going to happen to Werner at Tottenham and he will be more successful than a lot of people think.
I have been thinking that too. Imagine Nunez at United now, the disrespect would be unreal. But in Liverpool he is still okay, because Klopp keeps backing him. Maybe he will still come through. It's still possible. And the same goes for Timo Werner. Who knows, he just might thrive again at Spurs, they seem to have a good manager and supportive fans.

I loved Werner & believe he was poorly used by successive Chelsea managers once Frank moved him away from that Left IF role. He’s going to smash it under Ange. Good for him. He’s a really nice guy & deserves it. I’d have him back at Chelsea over Sterling in a heartbeat 😔
Something as well Jacob I think it was the lack of confidence he probably had. Which I think resulted in poor decision making when taking a shot or trying to pass a through ball. If he can get his confidence back his finishing will definitely improve to put the ball in the back of net.
Leipzig are still in 4 competitions and have CL clash against Real Madrid coming up yet they're happy to let him leave on loan in January. Not exactly a positive review of his current form?

Spurs don’t need Werner to score goals. They can make great use of him running opposing wingers and wingbacks ragged, annoying defenders and giving Udogie and other attackers more space. 2 thoughts. Immediate thought was Werner is perfect for Tottenham and you’ve summed it up perfectly. Great signing for them and I expect that he’ll fit right in and give them what they need. 2nd though was on whether xG is accurate and thinking back to the Darwin Nunez highlights before he signed for Liverpool and I remember thinking geez he gets lucky with goal keepers spilling the ball or not saving once’s they should and getting rebounds and tap ins when they do and that’s proven mighty accurate
You’re wrong about xG. If he matched his xG his finishing is in line with the expected average finisher in the premier league, doesn’t make him terrible. He finished slightly below on average over his 2 years at chelsea which just means he wasn’t amazing but look at his goals vs xG at RB Leipzig, it’s almost bang on
Actually timo is really a good player only he needs is good coach who can trust him coz he can play from any position and he is really really quick both physically and mentally. Timo is my favorite player.
You must really like strikers that miss more than they score. He is the most incompetent hack in front of goal the EPL has seen in decades, a true failure class hero.
What I don't like about the analysis is that obviously there were some confidence issues with him. You don't score 28 goals in Bundesliga if you're a bad finisher and I would like to see the stats from that season.
They also didn't eventually get loaned back to the PL in January by a team who are still in 4 competitions including the CL. Alarm bells must surely be ringing around his current form having played < 400 minutes for them so far this season?
De Bruyne was 18 when he signed and never got a chance. Salah was also young and was given very little opportunities to play. Werner played 89 times in two seasons and was dog shit.

I have remained one the biggest Werner fanboys, and absolutely reject the "flop" label, for all the reasons stated in the video. As someone with absolutely off the charts good interpretation of space, awesome speed and timing of his runs, he should fit into most of systems. However for Ange's Spurs, there is a caveat. Spurs is playing with hyper frontfoot forward system, in a condensed space for their high positioning of players. That leaves Werner with limited space to run behind the allready pressed back defensive lines and do his "best job". He is also defensively aware player, who can win balls and initiate counter attacks, but i wouldn't be too surprised if we don't see as much of defensive line breaking runs from him at Spurs as we have used to see from him in Leipzig or Chelsea.
Why is Liverpool laughing? We wanted him before Chelsea ruined him. I’ll take Darwin any day over him anyways. Faster and much more creative as a playmaker. Off ball movement is elite man’s always open
Bundesliga in contrast to premier league has way less spendings and teams like Leverkusen Leipzig and so one are getting stronger. I don’t even want to imagine If theyd spend as much as premier league teams….

'sevski, not 'secski" 😉👍🏻
Dont worry lads, he was perfect for Chelsea too😂😂
bro the bundesliga is shit. I am going to put Werner in my fantasy team and post every time he doesn't score as a response.
Bundesliga in contrast to premier league has way less spendings and teams like Leverkusen Leipzig and so one are getting stronger. I don’t even want to imagine If theyd spend as much as premier league teams….
Let's do one better: please post every time he flubs an easy chance, or just completely fucks up almost any high percentage chance in front of goal. The man is a complete hack, a total failure, and an utter klutz. If he didn't have that adorable creepy CGI smile he would be hated by everyone. I find him an adorable mascot.
Man U is laughing but also crying in secret
He’ll get 5g/3a.
This guy misses a lot so assume Werner will be bad
Easy to understand and to listen to, great job
Did he seriously say ‘Math’? Pandering to yanks who hardy watch the sport
lol this guy is stealing a living.....what a waste of money on a footballing bum.
His agents fucked up by letting him leave Leipzig to Chelsea, he's very good actually
First
2nd actually but good effort.
Sounds like your a W⚓️ 🤔💁🏼♂️
