I have a 2024 Ranger Raptor, my first 1000 miles, I was getting 16 miles per gallon. Now, with my 2nd 1000 miles, im getting close to 19 miles per gallon.
I subbed. Just got my 2.3 L 4 cylinder, XLT in October, live in Minnesota. Haven't had a chance to use the 4X4 in snow yet but I did go on a logging trail in 4 high a few weeks ago. So far I am liking it a lot. Retired, so this may be my last vehicle, unless I want the V-6.
Out of all the midsized trucks I think Ford has the best drivetrain along the entire lineup. If they didn't have the 2.7L v6, i'm sure i'd have been completely happy with the 2.3 (although may have found a way to disable the As/s).
A week ago I got a 2024 with the V6, XLT-High, FX4, and basic towing. I really didn't care about the advanced tech package since XLT-High gives us the power seats and dual-temperature controls. I am thrilled with my choice of the Ranger in general and specifically the V6. I wasn't planning to get the V6 but the salesman found one available for a dealer trade that was equipped like I wanted. The 2.3 four-cylinder is "fine" but the 2.7 V6 is awesome. I already upgraded the tires to BFGoodrich KO2's. Interesting detail if you are considering a Lariat: According to TireRack the Lariat tire size does not have any off-road all-terrain tires available. None.
I think you'll really be happy with that setup. I got the tech package primarily for the adaptive cruise control (in my last vehicle it was one of those things i was surprised i liked so much; i knew i needed it again) and have been very happy with the other tech it came with. I really like the 360 camera!
I’ve heard this before; but I think someone on the ranger forum tried it and found it didn’t work on the ‘24…but again the ASS doesn’t bother me so I’m not jumping to find a way to make it stop.
It would be nice! But let’s be honest; the XL is for 2 purposes : fleets and to have a low price point to bring people in for an upsell…they probably don’t really want to sell many.
they do that on purpose to make u have to go up in trim level i asked a chevy dealer one time i wanted to build a silverado with a 6.2 engine, they won't let u even doing a factory build they make u go up in the trims to drive up the costs.
@@NARoutdoors I got an Ranger XL, I don't owned a fleet, but I am just starting my business, needed a truck, both personal and business purpose, I needed a 302a package and also the 2.7 v6 and the fx4, that's $7000 over my base xl 4x4 Ranger, which is just wild, if I'll spend $47000, I'll spend 10000 over to get the raptor, maybe the next gen Ranger Raptor, or a Ranger Tremor, if it will make sense. I appreciate your channel and real life review. Thank you.
If you have the 2.7 you should look at your build date, maybe this has been covered in another video you did. But if your truck was built after sept. 12, when the built spec changed, you will not need the j braces. See more including photos at ranger6g.
I'm waiting on Ford to do some updates on the options availability. I'm used to heads up display and ventilated seats on my current truck and when they offer these two options, I'll make a trip to my Ford dealer to see what kind of deal I can get. No vents for the rear seats is a bummer, why wouldn't they have thought that people will be riding in the rear seats.
My mazda had those features; i've not found i miss them (maybe the cooled seats) but i didnt feel it was a deal breaker in any way. I even had a backup plan if i missed the HUD too much...
I had commented on one of your older vids saying I ordered one. I ended up canceling my order and I bought a F150 😬 still keeping up with your videos though
If ford doesn't fix my 2021 Ranger Tremor properly, the 2025 Ranger 2.7L may be what I get. GM mid-size look better to me but think Ford's drivetrain is best at this moment.
I got rid of my 23 Tremor lol. I couldn't stand the vibrations I was experiencing. They admitted that the vibrations existed and that they could feel them but said there was no fix. Said it was characteristic of all Ranger Tremors, which is complete BS. Selling a $45k that has issues when brand new should not be acceptable.
Coming from a 2018 tundra to a 2023 ranger lariat tremor I don’t feel the variations. I did instal the ford performance tune soon after but I’ve always wonder what people talk about when they say vibrations.
@@ashleyb7284 I never had vibrations but it was probably the driveshaft needing grease. Seen that mentioned a few times in the forum for all rangers. People chase a vibration and it just ended up being grease for the driveshaft.
Only have 400 miles on my Carbonized Gray. Loving it. The V6 is so nice.

same here
great to hear! hopefully the 2.7 has a similar breakin. i'll keep updating the mpg spreadsheet and keep updating the videos.

personally i would love to have insert key again, never know were to keep the fob
pocket?
Great job. Thank you❤
The way cars are being stolen these days, the thieves are relying on a push button ignition. Having a physical key is an advantage.
If only it was available in a manual: ultimate theft deterrent vehicle...

To disable start / stop, I plugged in a small night light in the 110v outlet in the rear… This works well on my 2021 Ranger

I would like Ford to offer the 2.7 and the FX4 on the XL as well, it's crazy to upgrade to XLT for those.

I have the same in Silver. Love it. Wondering, did you/will you install J-braces for the bed?
Ignore that, given the camper coming I imagine it's a must!
Not yet! In theory they are ordered and “pending”. I’ll need it by January when the topper arrives…
Mine has been in pending status for a month and a half
