    Thanks so much for this video, I’m 3 months in and root spray is not doing the job anymore, last night I went out for dinner and came home, looked in the mirror and thought about going back to the dye . Your timing is perfect and I’ll keep going . ❤

    Thank you so much for all the info. I am 3 months dye free and when I decided to do it, I googled and I found your site. There I read different stories of the women who did it and they were so inspiring. I am also on the Facebook group you have and it really helps to keep going. I am so happy to have found you. And your hair looks amazing. 😊

    I've also had the experience of talking with someone and they just stare at my roots the whole time. It's strange. I'm done with dye for 2 years 2 months now. I have about an inch to cut before I'm done completely. My surprise was that I had alot of dark hair in the back of my head and alot of white/silver in the front. Also my silver hair is so much more coarse than the other strands. I pinned up my hair alot with bobby pins. It helps to break the demarcation line.

      Hi, Jennifer! People ARE strange that's for sure. Congrats on almost being done with your transition!

    I’m scared to go gray. I have vitiligo which has given me fairly large white spots in my hair. Now I am also going gray all over. I’m not sure what my hair will look like if I stop getting it dyed. The white spots are so light that my scalp shows through if I pull my hair back in a ponytail. I don’t know what to do.

      I'm sorry - I wish I could advise you, but it's so hard to predict what it would look like. I do know that, for most of us, when we first go gray it does create an illusion that our scalp is showing through more than usual but that illusion seems to go away once our hair is fully gray. Not sure why that happens, but I hope that helps. Best of luck to you!

    I’m in month 7 since (mostly) ditching the dye. I’ve adopted a half-a$$ed version of the dye strip technique. H-A because I go more than a month between dye sessions, so I have more gray showing through than if I were more consistent.

    • @KatieGoesPlatinum
      @KatieGoesPlatinum  11 месяцев назад +1

      I do a lot of things half-a$$ed myself; if it works for you, that’s all that matters. I keep HA-ing my skincare, but it’s not working for me. Need to up my game!

    I'm in 4 month. I'm a natural red head. I haven't seen my natural sense I was 27. I'm 41 now I thought I would have more grey. Thanks for the support.

      You're welcome! My Mom was a redhead and I can tell you that the transition is generally much easier for redheads than brunettes - your gray hair will most likely blend beautifully with your red! My Mom's hair is lovely cinnamon/sugar/champagne now. Good luck to you!

      I swear, from a distance it seems that redheads have the greatest hair journey during their lifetime. My mom’s closest friend went from orange-red as a kid to beautiful deeper red as an adult, then as she started to gray it actually appeared more blonde than anything. At 81 it’s finally looking white.

    What are some of the groups for people who quit hair dye and makeup? Or influencers who quit both? I quit makeup before quitting hair dye, heard of these groups, but never found any

    • @KatieGoesPlatinum
      @KatieGoesPlatinum  11 месяцев назад +1

      You know, there used to be several FB groups for gray hair/no makeup but i just checked and they don’t seem to exist anymore. Sorry about that! I don’t personally know any influencers who are in that niche but I’m sure they must be out there.

      I stopped wearing makeup in my late 30s. I'm 42 now, best thing I ever did for my skin! Occasionally I will throw on some mascara just to look more awake and maybe eyeshadow too if I'm feeling fancy. I have used a moisturizer that was supposed to blur your pores that was lightly tinted but I don't really consider that makeup.
      If you care to share, why did you choose to stop wearing makeup? I don't know many others in RL that don't wear makeup but it's nice to know they are out there 🙏
