      @ may I ask a question - if the NL Pure 14 x 52 was included in your review - do you have any thoughts - experience as to how they may have ranked? Thanks again for such a great review!

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +1

      @ they’d win hands down but also cost more than 2x as much. The benefits of the NL series diminishes for me at 14x as you’ll always need a tripod anyways and you’ll carry them in your chest far less often so the weight savings doesn’t matter as much and you’ll carry already have a great fov with 15x56. In my opinion this is one case where the more expensive option isn’t worth it unless you got cash to burn then go ahead.

    I watch and read a tremendous amount of youtube/blog/article form gear reviews and comparisons, I have to say this is one of the highest quality comparisons I have seen from a technical perspective. Very well thought out, great detail in your critique, and not redundant or dull. Very impressed.
    If I could make a suggestion, I would love to see the chart you’re referencing on screen, and to get some phone-scope imagery on screen of each binocular but glad to have found your channel. I was sold on Maven just from their warranty over Sworo and ziess, superior quality to most if not all competitors, and the price is damn hard to beat

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад

      That’s good feedback. I’m working on incorporating phone scope footage for the next optics review. The tricky part has been getting enough adaptors but now I have companies willing to send them to me.

    Love your stuff Jay! I’m a binoculars geek and I’ve just heard and looked into these binos that have a larger field of view than the NL pures. Skyrover banner cloud apo. They have a
    420’ fov vs the 410 on the nl pures. But they are made in china and cost $500. Needless to say is I’m intrigued. Would love to see a comparison similar to the peax headlamp vs the sovrin video you posted.

    Length makes a huge difference in free handing the different glasses. The prism design in each also makes a huge difference. We live behind our 15s down here in Arizona and having spent ample time behind each, I can say the coating on the SLC glass makes animals pop substantially better than the mavens. I’m not saying that you can’t see the same animals with the maven but the definition and how the animals pop compared to the landscape is not comparable . I’d put the mavens in the same class as the zeis conquest 15s.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад

      Fair points. Optics are a very subjective experience. I do think the glass in the Mavens is technically superior to the conquests though. As far as I can tell even the new HDX is still only HD glass with no fluorite.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +1

      Side note, coues hunting in AZ is why I bought my SLC’s in the first place 5 years ago.

    • @jasonmariner5129
      @jasonmariner5129 Месяц назад

      @ I was floored when I upgraded from my conquest 15s to SLCs with the amount of game I see now compared to years past. The SLCs just seam to provide another level of definition and contrast that I haven’t seen with my mavens or conquest. I was hesitant making the jump from them to the swaros with the whole idea of diminishing returns but have been floored ever since I made that change.

  • @CadenHarker-s5d
    @CadenHarker-s5d Месяц назад +1

    How about the zeiss conquest HDX? I know you reviewed them vs the NL pure and some others but I think they live in this lineup a little better?

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +1

      I’d put them on par with the Zulu 10. Still no fluorite in the glass like the swaros and Mavens.

  • @fisherofmenmatt4194
    @fisherofmenmatt4194 20 дней назад +1

    I was very surprised by the results, I am still hesitant because the swaros are built like a tank but a 1000 more for something that lost in almost every category?

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  20 дней назад +1

      Surprised me too. Very impressed with those mavens.

  • @barrypascoe989
    @barrypascoe989 Месяц назад +1

    Thanks for the review Jay. I thought those swaros were a no brainer legacy piece. I thought Maven made some good products and now I'll buy mavens for next year's high buck hunt in Washington.

    I never even considered using a 15 power bino, until i heard you talking about them in your compact spotting scope video. Curious. What is your thought about going mid range to a 12 power instead?

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад

      Definitely an option. I discussed it in the video. I’ve been running my NL pure 12’s for years. Always a compromise when you take a general purpose tool instead of specific one. However, carrying two pairs of binos is not realistic for most folks.

  • @weekendwarrior8334
    @weekendwarrior8334 Месяц назад +2

    I have never had any luck with Abbe Koenig prism binoculars. Regardless of brand, they all have too much eye relief where I have to hold the binos off my face to get a proper sight picture.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +1

      That’s a very interesting point. For my eyes I need lots of eye relief so maybe that’s why I like these 15’s so much.

    Swarovski released 14x52 NL pure, I’m getting that one.
    Would you please make a video of comparison of Swarovski ATX 80 vs ATC in live footage? I’m kind straggling to pick the right one.
    ATC is much lighter and I only hunt in BC may not need long distance glassing. However, glass quality is critical for games.
    I would like to see how much difference face to face😢

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +2

      Those aren’t even remotely comparable. That’s an ultralight spotter against a full size spotter. Completely different tools for different jobs.

    • @nickdondey678
      @nickdondey678 Месяц назад +1

      I think while it would be a very insightful comparison, I think it’s too personal of a decision to make an objective comparison. Only you can decide if the weight/size vs optical quality difference is worth it. I was making a similar comparison and decided to go with the Razor 85mm over the STC because to me the optical quality was much greater to me. There’s just no way the superior glass in the STC can overcome the 85mm with 2.3x more surface area of glass. I’d recommend getting both and reselling the loser as it’s the only way to know with certainty.

    What about the meopta’s? I apologize if you spoke about them, I haven’t had time to watch the entire video. I picked up the swaros used for $1800, my buddy got a guide deal on the mavens for like $900. The glass quality on the mavens blew me away for the price. They were noticeably brighter than the swaros to both of our eyes. Wonder how the NL 14x52 stack up👍👍

    I too thought the Mavens were brighter then the Swaros It may not be light transmission % cause they are the same or swaro might have the mavens beat….it has something to do with color and coatings on the mavens that you get more pleasing color palette looking through them that in turn makes them feel brighter.

    Try the Swarovski NL Pure 14 x 52 mm with your Swarovski SLC 15 x 56 mm , the NL Pure 14 x 52 mm will blow the SLC away.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  24 дня назад

      Of course they will they’re twice as expensive. The NL pure 10x42 blow the EL’s out of the water as well. The question is, whether or not the performance improvement is worth the extra money. Everyone has to answer that for themselves depending on budget.

    I've watch lots of your reviews and you do a good job but I think your rating numbers are reversed. The item reviewed with the highest number should be the winner not the lowest number. Most reviews rate the highest number the best in ratings. Lookat it this way, any sporting event the team with the highest number(score) wins.

    • @MindfulHunter
      @MindfulHunter  Месяц назад +2

      This way the top scores are comparable regardless of how many items are in the review. Otherwise the top score of an item in a review with 6 items would be way higher than one with 3.
