thoose guys reallly know what they are doing, they are also really good to drive and know how to tune a car. where i live i see mainly stupid ricers whith pices of platic attached all over the body of the car, bad sound sistems and the cars are lighted like a disco. but to the drivetrain they dont even touch it. oh yeah also fit eversized exaust on 1.2l engines.
+Dumy Jobby RICERS! They're truly *people who think cars are cool, YET DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WORK lol.* The guys in the video are TRUE CAR ENTHUSIASTS, and I agree it's obvious they know what they're doing, not to mention each car looks almost like a well-done professional RACECAR. Great driving, great tuning, that's some *_Fast & Furious_* sheeit right there.
A bunch of teenager in riced out Honda's and Toyota's that only push about 200BHP and are in bad shape are hardly the best America has to offer, If you know where to look at what time in what city, You'll find the real race nuts, Trust me there few and far between but there are people running very highly modified Supra, Mustangs, Camaro's, Corvettes, Ford GT's, BMW 5 series ect.
Pretty sure the underground racing in America is faster as they are more into drag racing which beats the Japanese, but drifting clearly looks better :P
ohh CNZ I personally like drifting and rally racing myself. Drag is cool and all but it's boring to just sit around and watch only that for hours. I would like to try drifting for myself in my Camaro simply because drifting in a muscle car is something you don't see, a lot of people have this idea that they can't do it, you actually can, It's just a bit harder with the extra weight and power. A muscle car has enough torque and horsepower to get it to slid without the hand break but it's tricky.
I completely agree. Drag is faster but going sideways is better to do and watch for me. And I've seen American muscle go sideways but its just not executed as well as a JDM.
BigChief128 No offense, but you seem biased towards "underpowered" cars by naming models that have high horsepower. I agree with you about the riced out vehicles comment, but why call out just Honda and Toyota? I know several people who have a trashed M3, Mustang, Camaro and so-forth. It's so bad that it sounds like they're dragging around soup cans when it's their tailpipe that's dragging along the pavement. I've driven/owned a Honda (and will again in the future), driven/owned a Firebird Trans Am and I drive a Toyota. I've also owned/driven a few other cars in between. Each one had more work done to the suspension and tires than the motor because I love taking corners. It really comes down to how you take care of your car and what you do with it. If you keep up with the maintenance, buy the quality aftermarket parts for your modifications and research what kind of modifications you need to improve your car for the intended purpose you want it to be, your car, no matter what make, model, horsepower, torque, etc it is, will turn out to be the perfect car for you. Also, not only learning/mastering your car, but improving your skills is the other half of the equation. "Driver mods."
Really cool documentary. I'm a muscle car guy, but it's really cool seeing these legendary Japanese cars (Skyline, Supra, 240, Rx7) doing their thing. Gorgeous cars. Been trying to learn more about these mighty machines, so thanks for the upload!
I LOVE the REAL and HOMEMADE feel of this documentary. She's cute, knows perfect English, and actually interviewing street racers. It doesn't get much more underground than that!
This may seem like a small thing but I really like the fact that the girl speaks english fluently. I've been to Tokyo twice, and so very little have I encountered people who can speak English properly.
cybertree Yes but there's a lot of Japanese people who just doesn't want to speak english. And in a world where everyone goes everywhere its.. well, slightly less acceptable. Also, I do really salute the ones that atleast try to speak english. I really do.
+Ilya Jolteon They're in their country speaking their language. To go to tokyo and complain about people not knowing or wanting to speak English is retarded and insulting.
Frank B Of course! Except I wasn't complaining. I didn't go to Tokyo to fucking complain about people not speaking English. As an ex-exchange student you have to realize that it's partially your fault to not study their language But more English IS NICE for the people who DONT speak the country's native language. so they can enjoy the country/place/whatever more because they can COMMUNICATE with the people.
Did anyone else notice the shifter nob of yellow Gtr R34? Its the same type of nob's there using on American sports cars today. Just goes to show how late American car companies are to the car scene.
WHOOOO! This is some *_INITIAL D_* sheeeyit! Truly impressive auto-enthusiasts, BEAUTIFUL looking vehicles, and they're definitely tuned properly, as was demonstrated by THAT PERFORMANCE. *It's so nice to see a group of JDM's that don't look/act like "ricers" you see everywhere else, these guys seem like a credible CAR CLUB that you probably have to prove your metal to join, maybe I'll start a JDM style CAR CLUB here in the states.
From what i seen in the beginning , was Sexy Knights , Noise Maker , Crazy Max ... and i don't remember the rest of the crew but i know they still do there thing =)
6:55 Windows were replaced with acrylic windows making it 660 lbs lighter.... Is that really possible O.O? I never imagined that windows would weigh so much
If you even get caught loosing the slightest amount of traction in Australia the police with take your car and you'll be catching buses for the next year.
***** damn that's shits harsh as fuck, here in Canada they take ur licence for a couple weeks and a $1500 fine depending on ur infraction but stunting they will take ur car from u pretty much wit loss of licence and a hefty fine but not as bad as u guys
Cavalier Thompson oh yeah and it gets worse than that, we have a news station called a current affair, and they are by far the WORST gutter journalist peices of trash on Australia television, when you get a chance youtube search "Aca hoons" ... and enjoy the shit that dribbles from their mouths
I'm pretty sure that his transmission set up was pull down = up shifting and push away = down shifting. It's because his shifter is more sophisticated then the standard manual transmission. These cars are not street vehicles anymore from what I saw.
even though they look similar they are not the same car.. s13 has a different front end than the 240sx and im not sure about the 180sx but I doubt they're the same..
Enjoy Europe the 240sx is the name given to the model of S chassis in the United states while in Japan the exact same car is called the 180 sx. however you are right the S13 is quite different.
Cool stuff, i just dont like the Americanization of all the car names (180sx to 240sx, Levin/Trueno to Corolla GT-S) Just kinda distracting to a JDM Nazi like myself
Because we in the US got the 240sx with the KA24DE, we never got a car called the Silvia. It's the exact same car without the SR20DE. The front bumpers are a little different compared to the Silvia as well.
i already knew that. And you just made my point even greater by saying it goes by market. this video is in Japan. He NEVER said 240, so don't "dumb it down" and call it a 240 for American viewers sake. And real enthusiasts already know its a 180 (Because your in japan, and that is what they call it THERE). you don't need to mislabel the car for the sake of an audience that doesn't really care about this kind of thing like those who actually watch these vids who DO know.
thats funny , the guy with the orange S15 says that he doesn't bring his car to work and he doesn't tell anybody that he's into cars . As if its some big taboo or crime lol its like " dont tell anybody that i bought some brake pads cause they will laugh at me " come on man get real , if you like cars you like cars , dont be ashamed there's nothing wrong with that...
holy shit... and the dub is horrible as well. he never said he bought a 240 or "corolla gts" and you know it. there's no need to "dumb down" a dub esp when its wrong. it makes your translator look stupid.
thoose guys reallly know what they are doing, they are also really good to drive and know how to tune a car. where i live i see mainly stupid ricers whith pices of platic attached all over the body of the car, bad sound sistems and the cars are lighted like a disco. but to the drivetrain they dont even touch it. oh yeah also fit eversized exaust on 1.2l engines.

Japanese street racing makes American street racing look like joke lol >_

I've been to japan. The cars their are on a whole different level.
I like people like this, that aren't so secretive about their build and how much power they're making
THAT'S WHY I LOVE JAPAN ;-)
Doesn't matter how it looks or how powerful it is, it matters about how you drive it
I LOVE the REAL and HOMEMADE feel of this documentary.
She's cute, knows perfect English, and actually interviewing street racers. It doesn't get much more underground than that!
Since it was recorded in Osaka I expected something about kanjo racers. It was a truly gem by the way!
This may seem like a small thing but I really like the fact that the girl speaks english fluently. I've been to Tokyo twice, and so very little have I encountered people who can speak English properly.
+Ilya Jolteon You try speaking Japanese AND English properly, they're both two of the most difficult languages you can learn.
+Ilya Jolteon Didn't expect to find you here
cybertree Yes but there's a lot of Japanese people who just doesn't want to speak english. And in a world where everyone goes everywhere its.. well, slightly less acceptable.

The 180 is called 240 in the US, and 200 in Europe. The reason is model branding, as other cars on the market already had similar names.
i remember when i bought this DVD right as it came out...
AWESOME VIDEO !!!!
Did anyone else notice the shifter nob of yellow Gtr R34? Its the same type of nob's there using on American sports cars today. Just goes to show how late American car companies are to the car scene.

An american reporter would never ride along for illegal drifting and film it haha
I really liked your clip. Great post.
i think driftin is a good skill to know, but i like regular racing whether its drag or cornering
* Eurobeat intensifies *
Fascinating what the first dude interviewed said: “All my money goes into my car. I can’t even afford to have a girlfriend”. 🤔

This video basically shows any mans dream life
A "real " enthusiast would just know it was an s13 and not care what badge was stuck on the back when it was made.
Why does the translator say the American versions name of the cars? You're in Japan!
3:52 that guy needs new tires he's literally down to the wire
I wouldn't park my precious car on the turn that they are drifting.

Drift king "Keiichi Tsuchiya" is probably looking at this video smirking "Amateurs!".

Oh, yeah.
lover her reaction at around 16:00
Whats the intro song called?
Good Job! Thumbs up!
Can someone tell me why when it showed the old dude raceing in the circuit all he had to do was pull down on the stick shift?
I'm pretty sure that his transmission set up was pull down = up shifting and push away = down shifting. It's because his shifter is more sophisticated then the standard manual transmission. These cars are not street vehicles anymore from what I saw.
***** I don't think he knows what that is lol. I also don't think he'd look that up. I tried to explain it in non car guy speak.
Awesome!!!
Nice vid. But the 240sx? Why not simply say it's a 180sx or s13?

Anyone know the song atthe begining
at 8:03, theres a serious typo. its not a 240sx. 240sx's weren't sold in japan. that is a true 180sx. who edited this? they should be fired.

Its just a name buddy, no reason to get all excited.
Cool stuff, i just dont like the Americanization of all the car names (180sx to 240sx, Levin/Trueno to Corolla GT-S) Just kinda distracting to a JDM Nazi like myself
That's why you use chassis codes, they're universal.
Agreed. Love to see that I'm not crazy in this world
Big Mike I've never even heard of a 240sx...
Oh it's a Silvia... Why don't they just say that?

4:11 Brembo BREAKS??? I mean on a show about cars you would think they could spell correctly. It's BRAKES for fuck's sake.
Brembo breaks I hope not haha.
thats funny , the guy with the orange S15 says that he doesn't bring his car to work and he doesn't tell anybody that he's into cars . As if its some big taboo or crime lol

So many Amistad wheels
install lsd? isn't that not what you want for drifting?
Limited slip dif's don't literally limit the slip, the just keep the rear 2 wheels spinning in unison more or less.
I just assumed people building dedicated drift cars would weld their diffs.
I mean it's a heck of a lot cheaper to weld till you start cracking diffs.
@ Carlos Bonilla , KEEP H8TING.
Its a 180sx dummies
Considering its Japanese, yes you are correct.
no highway racing? top secret?
+AcheLone search touge or kanjo
