We’ve covered the Push Dagger / Push Knife previously in our full breakdowns of The Bourne Identity and Atomic Blonde. Our opinion remains the same, the Push Dagger is an excellent self defense tool for people who know how to strike but aren’t familiar with knives. The Push Dagger simply acts as a damage multiplier to your striking skills. In this Purge breakdown, we liked how Leo Barnes distracted Earl Danzinger with his unarmed hand so that he can surprise Earl with the Push Dagger. While Leo did risk getting his unarmed hand cut, he made the strategic choice of risking his “weaker hand” so that he can use is dominate hand to land that finishing blow with the Push Dagger. Overall, great knife and great fight scene.
The ones without the knobs that dig into the skin are A+ designs, but they still cause discomfort and pain when held between the middle and ring fingers. Why hold them that way when it's harder to control them without contact with your thumb?? Too much wiggling without support.
Hands down the best fight scene in that whole movie, in my opinion. Fight scenes come out so much better when actors have real martial arts training experience.
Same thing can be applied to a Karambit, but I feel like a push dagger is much more effective for straights, and the Karambit is much better for hooks.
This is a really cool weapon, but one that I wouldn't like to use at all since I only want to disarm and neutralize my opponents. This one seems to be one of those life ender approaches...
Love how Frank throws the knife Cross while stepping OFFLINE so his head is out of punch range, while also loading up his lead leg/lead Hook! Dope striking Footwork!
Franks the man shame he hasnt gotten bigger roles ina while. Good actor legit martial artists. Kingdom is an amazing show and frank kills it as Alvey Kulina. Hes a bad man in that show killer lol
Ehhh 🤷🏾 how many mfkrs are running around in body armor? How many people even have a plate carrier let alone the plates to go in the carrier??? Short answer not many
Ive always wanted this actor to play an accurate punisher max character in a live action film. Beef him up a lil ..hes got the age ..for sure a hit. At least in casting
Dussack (a kind of eastern european sword that's basically a scimitar blade on a rapier hilt) fencing uses covering hits too, specifically a cross cut as a retreat.
Grillo definitely needs his own movie! He would have been dope as Taskmaster and not that version we got. He understands combat like an accountant understands math! Thank you Sifus for always explaining combat and martial arts as a discipline!🫡🫡🫡
Can you guys breakdown the melee weapons used in Reincarnated as a slime movie scarlet bond. In the first 6-7 min in the movie there's already an amazing fight happened with different weapons used by both Majins (the attackers with different varients of weapons) and the Ogres (the ones using a katana and other variation)
I can see how you might be able to do some damage with that. But against someone with a real knife, you are toast. It's really not as good. I don't have any knife training, but I could still do a lot of damage with a big knife. With that thing, I could do more damage than with my fist alone but not nearly as much I could with most kitchen knives. One of the biggest problems I see is it's size. Can it actually cause a deep enough wound to hit vital organs? It seems designed to do puncture wounds, but I don't think it's long enough to be effective unless you go for a vulnerable area like the eyes or the throat. Or perhaps you could slash with it instead. In that case, a knife would be better. But this could be easier to conceal and give you the element of surprise. So, an ambush weapon used to do as much damage as possible before your opponent has a chance to react. Or maybe it could be used for self defense to scare off an attacker.
This weapon would fuck your hand up so bad if you used it. One, it's not fixed to anything. You're requiring the strength of your fingers to hold that, without your thumb. The most integral part to a strong grip. Secondly, even if it was fixed to something than just the palm of your hand with say rings your fingers slide though, consider them broken after the first hit. You could only do straight punches, no hooks to effectively use this weapon. Even then, the blade would have to go straight in, any angle would make it go crooked and you'd loose grip. Literally a normal knife would be better

Would it not be considered the same mentality Rocky was given in the movies?
Can a car or motorcycle key use like the push dagger?
Can you cover Tom Harry's Bane?
The ones without the knobs that dig into the skin are A+ designs, but they still cause discomfort and pain when held between the middle and ring fingers.

@@Iya_ayuk_maini agree wit @acer0255 comment, i heard its more comfortable 2 hold it like holding knife
Frank Grillo doesn't get enough credit. He has legit fighting experience. Good Chad
Dude is not only a legit fighter but makes some awesome movies too.
@Billy-bc8pk I wish Marvel would have developed Crossbones more so we could see Grillo's fight game on screen more often.
@cmbjive Absolutely! It was a huge missed opportunity from Marvel to give Grillo more to work with.
Wuts his fighting styles ?
@@adinprasetio He's trained in boxing and is a brown belt in BJJ.
Logan: Why am I even in this video?
For safety reasons obviously :P
"I'm just here, so I won't be fined."
To help Chad with his knife skills 😂

Four hundred and 69 Likes?
NOICE!! 🗡️👊🏼
Grillo is badass in his movies! He's highly skilled and he used that weapon great in that movie!
Y'all need to do more Grillo breakdowns!
What other Frank Grillo movie should we breakdown?
@ScenicFights maybe something from Jui Jitsu, Wolf Warrior 2, or Boss Level. There's so much he's done!
Guy on the right is just there! Like his waiting for a demonstration of the techniques to be used in him
Hands down the best fight scene in that whole movie, in my opinion. Fight scenes come out so much better when actors have real martial arts training experience.
Cool breakdown, frank grillo is a good choice. Push dagger & boxers make a crazy combo
Logan’s life flashes before his eyes every time Chad gets near him with that
Frank grillo is a badass I got to meet and take a photo with him in san antonio at big texas comic con
Everyone gangsta until someone pulls one of those out in the street fight.
You guys introduce me to so many good movies
What an underrated weapon and underrated action movie actor. *Dude is a beast!!!*
He was badass in this movie 🔥
Same thing can be applied to a Karambit, but I feel like a push dagger is much more effective for straights, and the Karambit is much better for hooks.
Kinda cool seeing Chad doing knife stuff
CS player : Butt plug!!
Logan: “please don’t accidentally stab me…”
Good video thanks guys 👍🏻
This is a really cool weapon, but one that I wouldn't like to use at all since I only want to disarm and neutralize my opponents. This one seems to be one of those life ender approaches...
Frank Grillo should have been the Punisher. His fight skills would have been awesome for the character.
It’s nice to see somewhat practical fight scenes in show/ movies 😃
Love how Frank throws the knife Cross while stepping OFFLINE so his head is out of punch range, while also loading up his lead leg/lead Hook! Dope striking Footwork!
Nice love these videos!
Franks the man shame he hasnt gotten bigger roles ina while. Good actor legit martial artists. Kingdom is an amazing show and frank kills it as Alvey Kulina. Hes a bad man in that show killer lol
That was a crazy movie man crazy
u should do fights from fast furious series like shaw vs hobbs.
very cool
This is honestly my favorite movie knife fight
Can you guys do Fight scene breakdowns of the Movie UPGRADE. Logan Marshall green gave lots of best action sequences in it...
Is it just me or does frank give joe rogan vibes 😂
Frank Grillo is no joke.
Great job, guys. Well done, love Martina
The only concern and drawback of using push dagger is if it hits solid body armor you'll most likely break it and hurt yourself.
Ehhh 🤷🏾 how many mfkrs are running around in body armor? How many people even have a plate carrier let alone the plates to go in the carrier??? Short answer not many
Can you do Leon v krauser knife fight in RE4 Remake?
They did some of it.
If I learned something from a man who's goated with the Swaws, all you need is "Swish, swish, stab."
It's basically an arrowhead with a handle. Super neat.
Y’all should break down Draymond Green’s choke on Rudy Gobert😂😂😂
😂
Ive always wanted this actor to play an accurate punisher max character in a live action film. Beef him up a lil ..hes got the age ..for sure a hit. At least in casting
Frank Grillo would have made a great Frank Castle.
You guys should cover the Ulak knives that Riddick uses in the Chronicles of Riddick!
I thought Frank Grillo looked like Frank Castle
Try holding a push dagger between the index and middle finger versus middle/ring finger. Levels blade and increases power.
hey can you guys do jjk yuji vs choso
Definitely a great knife for boxers💯🥊
Dussack (a kind of eastern european sword that's basically a scimitar blade on a rapier hilt) fencing uses covering hits too, specifically a cross cut as a retreat.
Can I use my car keys the same way? Between my fingers?
It might hurt but maybe it could
car keys, scissors, but push dagger is the best.
One of the nastiest weapon ever
Could you possibly do Master Shredders tekko kagi? That’d be a rad video
You guys should do Wolverine’s claws
Could you cover one of Baki’s technique: the tiger king?
Could you guys do breakdowns from Shenmue please
Grillo definitely needs his own movie! He would have been dope as Taskmaster and not that version we got. He understands combat like an accountant understands math! Thank you Sifus for always explaining combat and martial arts as a discipline!🫡🫡🫡
Logan has become the npc how the flips have tabled
Well, it makes sense that it is an effective weapon considering they have been used for centuries
Feels like if brass knuckles and a switch blade “made whoppee” and made that thing. 😅
Frank Grillo should have been The Punisher.
That weapon would obviously break the user's knuckles!
one of these in one hand brass knuckles in other thats an op combo
Theres 2 simple way to use a push dagger, 1 go for the legs, stomach, then legs, 2 do what the video tells you to do
Works better in-between the pointer and the middle fingers.
This was done with rapiers, too!
Based on my Striking understanding = Uga buga punch with sharp object / j
I really want to know what brand the push dagger in the movie is. Its handle doesn’t look like cold steel.
Could you do a chainpunch with a push knife?
Can you guys breakdown the melee weapons used in Reincarnated as a slime movie scarlet bond.

Do the knife from titanfall 2

So this one has no cons?
Is, is Logan okay.
Logan is better than ever 💪
Can you brake down cobra kai
Which fight scene from Cobra Kai would you like to see us break down?
W
for safety reasons, Chad could have hold a butt plug instead of the push dagger .... just sayin
Paid content only.
Can’t say I’m not slightly disappointed that you didn’t finish Logan off like always lol
