Was thinking that aswell but there is a broken center line? Which entitles him to overtake, the drive in the red car didnt look to the left at all i think.
@@dashcamirl3560 Both are at fault. White van fault. Unfortunately ROTR does not have numbered rules but page 71 on broken white lines says "You must not cross them unless it is safe to do so." And ROTR says it is NOT safe to do so at a junction - page 55 main section on overtaking orders "You MUST NOT overtake when....You are approaching a junction". So it doesn't matter if there is broken lines or not! Red car fault. Section on yield lines, page 72, "The driver must give right-of-way to ANY traffic on a major road ahead". It doesn't matter which way traffic is coming from! Therefore in a crash, costs would be divided between white van and red car.
@@dashcamirl3560 van driver, it's not the responsibility of the red to check for someone driving on the wrong side of the road, it is however the responsibility of the van driver to overtake safely, which he clearly didn't
the white van man is at fault, no overtaking at a junction

Local council for skimping on road markings?
@@dashcamirl3560 Even if there would be a solid line on the road, red car have to give way and he is responsible for safe entering the 'main' road.
