and what the hell was that perfect clear near the end, i was literally half laughing when it happened.
(also yep, Arisu is one of my secondary accounts. played on it when i attempted the challenge. this was the second try)
i got so used to playing normal games that this was even more interesting despite playing at a snail's speed

Well, considering that you can’t receive garbage blocks until you place a Tetrimino, it’s very possible.

this is completely, utterly ridiculous, beyond what I can make up a description for
for anyone interested, I just want to point out that there is a SNES game called Tetris Battle Gaiden where there are multiple characters with different powers and stuff. One of these is Wolfman's Slow; which does exactly that (forbids you from soft dropping + hard drop did not exist) for 4 pieces. It is considered perhaps the most broken power in the entire game because of how it generally leads to game over once Wolfman gets one going.
to win against not one, but technically 98 people by doing this all the time is honestly baffling

just glitch the game so pieces don't spawn (you can't get garbage if you never drop pieces) and you're set. wait for the opponent to either inevitably give up or misdrop enough and easy win. it's like playing badminton against the wall, because your opponent physically cannot win

Play for like, 20 minutes a day right before you sleep. You will dream in Tetris. This will eventually turn you into a passable player.
For a practice drill, forget about trying to set up Tetrises and spins, just try to make the top of your stack as flat as possible for as long as possible. Huge canyons that can only be solved by an I-piece are almost entirely avoidable if you develop enough skill.

Also, what's the deal with English text/voice lines being left in the Japanese localization but not in other Western localizations? The game could at least call itself テトリス９９.
i'm not sure about it, but so far, i think french localization is the only one that has custom voice lines. maybe i'm wrong though, i haven't checked, but i'm pretty sure that i heard the english voice lines on a non-english/non-japanese localization.
@@Doremy Hi, I play the spanish version and I can confirm that the spanish version actually has spanish voice lines, so it's not just english and french. I don't know what or how many other languages have custom voice lines, though.
