All pieces (o might be an exception) have 4 orientations. You might not be able to see a difference between two orientations of the z and s piece, but there is. Depending on the orientation it rotates slightly different. If you try to do a simple s-spin (double) and you rotate right (y or a) once to set the piece vertically it will pop right in the second time you rotate right (y or a). If you rotate left (x or b) the first time it pops out when you try to rotate right (y or a).
@@xFermar Take an L piece, you can clearly see it has 4 different orientations. The s and z only seem to have 2, but they do in fact have 4! You can see the difference more clearly if you were to colour one of the blocks differently. Say you were to give the rightmost block of the s a white colour. Rotating right(a or y) once causes the white block to point down, rotating right once more causes the white block to point left, once more and it is pointing up, once more and it is pointing right again. For the rotation system modern tetris games (srs) there is a difference between when the white block would be pointing up or down. You can see this when you rotate a s-piece in circles, it alternates between 2 columns. When it is pointing down, you can do the z spin, when it is pointing up, it pops out.
@@xFermar If you are merely interested in how to do them in 1 go, I'd recommend the following, with every type of z or s spin, try setting up by pressing either (y/a) or (x/b) once when you need to allign it vertically and try the spin with either (y/a) or (x/b). One will always work, the other does nothing or it jumps out. Try to remember the one that works.
How useful are All Clears? I know their value was nerfed at some point, but they seem like a hassle to set up and not worth it compared to setting up Tetrises and T-Spins.

I think that observing how you do t-spins helps me to understand them better so that I can do them.

I get all clears every once in a while. Sometimes I fail an all clear when it would work. And once I got two in a game.
