    Easiest blower motor replacement out there. Replaced a bunch recently
    Make sure you don’t have a high leg to ground on one of the incoming line wires

      It is pretty simple and I give carrier credit for that. Not good to hear on replacements but job security ay! Lol
      Good info to keep in mind thank you.

      What makes you say that about a high leg to ground? I’ve had three bad motors in a month and I noticed I have one leg higher to ground than the others

    I am replacing one of these motors tomorrow . It’s ICP 6 ton gas package. Looks 100% the save. That motor lasted 7 weeks ONLY!
    It’s under warranty, however that motor s ~$1200 (!!!!!) at United Refrigeration! So, I am not sure if I want to install these units for my customers in a future.

      I’m constantly seeing/hearing these motors going down. One of the things to look for is static pressure I believe these are very picky on static pressure.

    • @edlauren9434
      @edlauren9434 5 месяцев назад

      Well, this particular RTU just got the entire ducts re-done. It was VERY deficient air ducts set up. It was ~800 CFM on the return side…. For a 6 ton unit!!!!! That Sudway restaurant was always sweating. So, I’ve got the entire system done correctly with ~3000 CFM on the return and ~2500 CFM for the supplies. It started to cool… ran happy for 2 days and… that damn motor just quit!

      @@edlauren9434 right so now it’s running correctly and set to correct static for the motor. I also read issues with the high temp limit on the indoor section believe that was a recall on select years. And an issue regarding voltage with the plug.

    Thanks for the video. I'm sitting right next to one. Found the transformer 5amp breaker tripping. Nothing coming on. Finally found that the compressor has an unloader plug on the backside of it. Unplugged it... breaker didn't trip, compressor and OF started... but indoor fan didn't. No 10 volt on orange and white wire . Line voltage was present on plug. So now I have an issue with the IF motor and the unloader. This unit I installed in 2019. POS. .... and my wife worked on the carrier assembly line here in Tyler for 21 years.... before they moved the plant to Mexico.

      I’m definitely not really digging these. The motors have gone up as well they were 800 not there around the 1400 range and there made in Germany. I ordered a main PCB just to have on hand it took 6months to get.
      I’ve read a bulletin released by carrier having issues with the high limit switch on these and a certain batch of modules on the indoor motors. Something to note down. I might call tech and ask if there’s any recall or other issues we should be aware of with these units.

    So In my case the plug burned up somehow and I was thinking about bypassing getting a new motor and just wire but the wiring together. Can I do that or no?

    • @hvacslayer2929
      @hvacslayer2929  Месяц назад +1

      @@Itsjustciah that will work just make sure you wire correctly. Since you’re going to cut the plugs off I would cut back a bit on the plug coming from the line/controls. That way when you get a new motor you can reuse the plug.

      @@Itsjustciah probably lose connection inside the plug on the high voltage side. The plug connection is just that it’s completing the wires together. The board sends signal to the motor to control speed.
