Aside from the privacy invasions and restricting access to powerful cyber decks I like Netwatch quite a bit especially since they’re the only ones protecting humanity from the threat of the rogue AIs behind the black wall. Was hoping we could do some quests for them but there’s always Orion.
The thing is, netwatch dont do their jobs for the betterment of humankind. But because half of their paychecks are paid by corpos. Thats why they hate freelancer/merc netrunners so much, but not corpo owned netrunners.
@@Tomo_moeven if true, they’re the only ones actively doing a job that needs doing and benefits humanity. Kinda like Trauma Team, sure it’s fucked up they only help those who can afford it but it’s still the best they got in the cyberpunk dystopia

Yea after playing thru Phantom Liberty, it makes you realize Netwatch are the good guys, since they protect all of mankind from AIs and especially when the Voodoo Boys betray you.
I think there's a difference between having goals that are aligned with the common good, and being the "good guys." That doesnt mean theyre the bad guys, or that they should be dismissed or reviled just for being corpos. But while we can appreciate what they do, its important to keep sight of motivations, which for a corporation is measured in eddies.

Yeah, I’m a little pissed the Netwatch guy used us as a Trojan horse to take down the Voodoo Boys, but it’s better than what Placide planned for us was messed up. I gotta say- they seem to be pretty level headed as far as corps go. What Mr. Hands tells you they do for your client during that gig in Dogtown was pretty badass.
Yeah. I’ll think about this while bullying the net watch guy in phantom liberty. I don’t hate him, just still trying to understand how he’s apart of netwatch when he can’t take a bullet to the foot.
They revamped the skill trees to align better with the anime and there are a few Easter eggs referencing the anime. But no, the surviving cast of Edgerunners have moved on and will not appear in NC in 2077. I'll tell you this tho, when you play, check out a place called the "columbarium" and try to find the megabuilding where David lived and look around carefully.
The story isn't connected, but there are some Easter eggs and references around the world, that suggests that Lucy came back to night city at some time. And some perks in the new skill tree that make some references to the original crew

I love netwatch. They kick ass

I just want the Voodoo Boys to lose.

Even if Netwatch is “good,” that doesn’t mean we can trust them. Like Mike Pondsmith and R Talsorian says, “Never trust a corp.”

They aren’t making a second dlc but that’s fine because now they are working on the next cyberpunk game
