The one guy who was burnt alive was almost certainly inspired by an infamous murder that happened on arizona"s death row back in 1982 where an inmate threw an ice cream tub full of hair tonic on a murderer named buster holinger then lit him up and calmly walked up too a guard and said "there's gonna be one less on count tonight, I set buster on fire".
I have searched up and down and cannot find any record of this--do you have a link or anything? Genuinely interested in finding this story, but I wonder if maybe the name was different or something? I can't find any reference :/
In a maximum security prison in Brazil in the 90’s, there was also an infamous murder in which one gang attacked a rival gang, they beat the gang’s boss half to death and then burned him alive.
12:24 "Now I'm comin out.. dick swingin! Boots on, but I got a weapon" I know violence in prisons and jails are a serious thing. But this line had me in tears
Something to remember too is that when they were planning the hits, they were keeping in mind which people they had who worked as guards at that facilities so it's possible for some of these that they might have been able to make the cameras "malfunction" if it had to go down in the open.

Haven't ever been to Prison but spent my childhood visiting my father in one so I've always been oddly fascinated by Prison culture. Love your work and videos. Respect.
The point you made about it being fast is great, and its an important thing to keep in mind. You dont have someone walking towards you slowly, ominously, blade in hand, like in the movies. Murders like that happen fast, they usually try to ambush you and get you off-guard, and its over quick. THATS why you gotta be prepared in prison; always ready, because if you're not, you'll get caught unawares. And thats probably a big contribution to PTSD and mental illness after getting out. The mind isn't supposed to be on edge 24/7. It causes mental fatigue, like being in a combat zone for prolonged periods of time.
I have a hyperactive amygdala, and fuuuuuuck can I relate to the being on edge 24/7, it's fucking hell on earth (and I have severe insomnia as a result). It must be absolutely horrific for a person of sound mind to be pushed into mental and neurological annihilation like that, it must feel like torture...

Larry I've always felt you were really brave and genuine to share so much about your personal life. I honestly can't think of a better story than someone who chooses to turn their life around. Just wanted you to know you inspired me.
I was a CO in prison before moving to the county jail. While I was in prison we had the inmates moving across the yard coming to chow. When one particular inmate made it to the chow hall he was wobbling around and we thought he was fucked up on K2. We approached him and he faces his body towards us. Once he did that we saw a fountain of blood squirting from the side of his neck. He had stitches put in from the top of his face to the bottom of his neck and the weapon was never recovered. The prison violence is real.
I mean what's worse (to my mind) is that that happens all the time, far too frequently and on a very dubious basis regardless of whether they meet a violent end or not. Look up three strikes laws, "conspiracy" etc redundant fluff charges and how they're (mis)used in conjunction w/plea bargaining, especially in the federal system, the frequency and fondness of prosecutors for tacking on lifetime parole/probation supervision onto plea deal conditions combined w/how the whole parole & probation system sets people up to fail. Plus how broad/wide and potentially arbitrary the judicial discretion range is for many charges (i.e., in regard to a lot of crimes believe it or not, for the exact same charge you can get handed sentences ranging anywhere from ~5 years plus probation & fines to LIFE incarceration, depending upon countless variables and ultimately whether the judge had a bad day or not, I suppose?), the rapid spread & pervasiveness/political popularity of mandatory minimums beginning around the 90s or so to present, persistent racial and socioeconomic disparities in sentencing... It's all deeply disturbing, and just *bleak*. To say nothing of "hosprisons" for RSOs & convicts deemed (rather arbitrarily, and ironically, but that's another topic) mentally ill who've already served their sentences and which are nearly impossible to ever be released from (and before everyone hate-dogpiles me for this comment, look a little further into how the criteria works of who gets selected to be admitted to those places and who doesn't, seriously it's pretty messed up--spoiler alert, it ain't really about "protecting the public", "treatment", or based in any actual science in reality, despite what they claim). One metric/indicator that starkly illustrates the point I'm making is the percentage/proportion of elderly prisoners over the age of 60-65,and how it's alarmingly grown in recent years/decades (and keep in mind, the healthcare in the US prison system often rivals that of extremely poor developing countries for how atrociously bad it is, and prison authorities seem quite fond of ignoring cancer until it's totally untreatable & hence terminal). You know that old joke to the effect "...what do you call the person who graduates last in their medical class (and maybe got their license suspended several times for malpractice and/or ethical misconduct)? Doctor!" Hint: where do most/many of those "just-barely-fit-to-be-a-doctor" types go to practice? (Not counting extremely rural areas, impoverished foreign/forever-"developing" countries, and Native American reservations, which are more-or-less the overlap of both of those two categories, just switch "foreign" w/"sorta sovereign".) That answer to that rhetorical question a.) makes that joke much less funny, and b.) really underlines how dangerous it is to be, and why you really super-duper wouldn't want to be, sick, injured, chronically disabled or pregnant in prison. So on the one hand, as an average American inmate, you have the low-to-moderate but perpetually present risk of meeting the kind of fate depicted in the clip Larry's reviewing, and on the other, numerous pathways to dying behind bars even if you're lucky enough to be able to live out a "full", "natural" lifespan. Not exactly a system befitting the wealthiest country on the planet, is it? **TL;DR:** Absolutely, but even more horrifying than the cavalier approach to inmate/prisoner safety and potential violent death inside this comment implies is that regardless, the Kafkaesque nature of the American criminal legal system gives it a "Hotel California"/"Roach Motel"-esque quality far too often by default. Prison reform NOW.

Thanks for breaking down the jail killing scenes. Which ones were the most realistic and why. I watched Breaking Bad when it first came on the air. Started off as more of a dark comedy than just got really dark, but really awesome. Been in jail before, luckily never saw anything that bad, but it was for minor shit, nothing major. Still sucked being in there none the less. I really hope you're videos and words will make some people realize it's so NOT worth it. You take your freedom for granted till it gets taken from you and than even the simplest things in jail what few commissary things or getting a razor to use was the only thing that made me feel somewhat human while in there. My experience of having been there it's pretty dehumanizing.

The music, the editing, the sound overall mixing in brutal noises with the upbeat music, all that. But it's the part of the brain that instinctively realizes the realness of the scenes the creators have gone through such great lengths to portray. There's a believable desperation in these scenes that's rarely captured. The victims, who are even shown to have any time at all to react, barely have a moment to realize what's happening before they are flailing around in absolute primal panicked desperation and yet are utterly hopeless. The guy who tried to catch the door before it trapped him really shows it all in the way he instantly knew what was happening and tried to give himself any slim chance to survive but was totally doomed. He doesn't even turn to face his killers, not that he had time as they were on him so fast. The kills are brutally efficient. Not super stylized, instead quick and horrifying. As they would be irl even if the killers cared nothing of being caught, they would care about their victim getting the upper hand on them, getting away. Drawing the ire of the shot caller that sent them to get the job done. They may already have life so another murder means nothing, but it's a sentence served within the walls owned by those who ordered them to do the deed. Keeping their status within the good graces of those is all they have left. Losing that is one thing they have left to fear. In the same way real footage of an actual murder is going to be much, much more upsetting than pretty much any movie murder, this show is bridging the gap between the two and adding some nice touches with the music n all the effects and angles only adding to the intensity instead of taking anything away. Speaks to the ultra-rare talent behind this universe. Who actually thought Better Call Saul was going to rival BB or even surpass it ?! Virtually no one I would wager.
You can do everything right, but be in the wrong place at the wrong time and have a bloodthirsty prosecutor at your trial, and that's all it will take to be locked in a building with murderers and rapists. You're practically an innocent man who's been given the death penalty, even if you've never been officially sentenced
This was probably about as much as they could get away with violence wise on a cable network show. I'm sure an HBO version of Breaking Bad would have been some gnarly ish. LOL.

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Sounds like you had some really hard experiences and you’ve decided to try to make your life better. Kudos brother
The worst thing ive ever seen on a jail camera was an inmate having a panic attack, and repeatedly stabbing an inmate with a heated comb. After he calmed down he dropped his weapon and checked on the inmate he attacked. When the guards apprehended both of them, the victim was dragged off camera, and the inmate was strangley comforted by the officers. Turns out he was a new inmate who had been there for a week, and hit his limit.
It seems like these jail wardens aren't doing their jobs if they let prisoners do whatever they want. I always imagined a maximum security prison to be more strictly controlled. You can't even take a shit without permission.
These are taking place in county jails, not prisons. And unless you are going to have a 100 percent lockdown prison ala ADX Florence, shit like this is guaranteed to happen if someone is bound and determined to get at another.
There was a friend of mine that went to prison for 5 years for stabbing o guy in the neck with a small Old Timer pocket knife. Boy bled out trying to open a car door within sight of an emergency room.
Hey Larry. I would love to see a video of you reacting to the prison scenes from the «Power» series. It’s one of my all time favorite series, and I found some of the prison scenes pretty interesting😁
I think the way the camera cuts could imply that the guys getting stabbed probably continue to receive wounds until guards are able to drag the attackers away. So there might still be another several dozen hits on these guys that we don’t see. Even so, it’s a good point that you do sometimes hear of people getting stabbed upwards of 60 times that survive. You’d definitely want to see more targeted shots to the vitals or the important blood vessels to be sure that these were lethal attacks
This was a good episode, describes the horrors of prison. Maybe if more people see people like you, talking about how bad life locked up is theyd be less inclined to fuck up life for those of us who arent.
Unless every prison becomes like the ADX supermax and everyone is on permanent lockdown it isnt possible. If they want to hit someone they will and the guards arent going to go against them since they are outnumbered.
Because unfortunately hardly anyone outside of maybe family and friends gives a f**k. That's what would need to change, and I pray that one day it will, but I doubt I'll live long enough to see it.

THATS why you gotta be prepared in prison; always ready, because if you're not, you'll get caught unawares. And thats probably a big contribution to PTSD and mental illness after getting out. @@sam8404 I felt u I respect your opinion on it it’s just crazy to me
I mean what's worse (to my mind) is that that happens all the time, far too frequently and on a very dubious basis regardless of whether they meet a violent end or not.

Maybe it's the music
@@TF2Scout.. yeah it's strangely upbeat music for a murder spree

@@LarryLawtonJewelThief I think it’s messed up that a system designed for ‘rehabilitation’ won’t do anything for the people who come out of it rehabilitated and positively influencing society. No thanks to them, you’ve become a role model and credit to the state through educating the youth but they won’t remove the felon label. It’s not fair
Did you know any inmates who genuinely tried to stay out of trouble and not start shit? What is it like for them? Do they get left alone, or does someone smell weakness and try to take advantage?
The number of videos where Larry casually talks about crimes he committed in prison makes me hope he's got a lawyer reviewing his recordings before they go out.
Why? He’s already been convicted
I’m pretty sure he’s already been punished for anything they could prove he did in prison.
Legend Larry turned your life around so well, stories like yours are unheard of
And people wonder why Jesse and Saul wanted to avoid prison at all costs.
Awesome video as always Larry. My younger brother was a big fan of yours and I think he said something about going through some program you created.
When I was in jail, early morning waiting for the bus to court. I was on top bunk, trying to get a little rest and someone jumped the guy beneath me, choking him out, trying to crush his windpipe. I didn't see nothing but it sounded rough. Guards came running pretty fast a day pulled them apart but they gut lived, bit shaken up but alive.
Larry after watching a guy get murked: Now that's a murder!
Can't stop watching this superb content. Thanks again Larry for your wisdom
Lar, thanks for sharing your experiences. You’re doing the world a huge service.
3:43 him touching his eyes like that is a physiological response to recollecting a bad experience or memory. Bless you for even being exposed to such behaviour.
7:07 "I stabbed a guy going upstairs in front of a lot of people. No camera, didn't care"
Blesses withdrawn
@@bryanfongo327 I mean, he probably feels bad about it now. In prison, you’re sorta obligated to attack people at times and Larry was much younger and less wise back then.
I'm so glad there's a wide reaching format now for ex prisoners or whatever the proper term is to be able to tell their stories because I think they have interesting stories to tell and this is a good way for them to be heard. Thank you for your input sir. Your video gets a like and I am super stingy with those.
Your channel is a breath of fresh air. The American prison system is so fucked up, and we worry about so many minor things when real people get killed and violated every day and the culture is kill or be killed
I can't imagine watching someone get killed in a show then thinking "wow, that brought back memories." Actually insane. Dealing with that, I think proves the realness of Larry.
One of my main goals in life is literally just, don't end up in prison EVER. I'd never forgive myself, would be one of my biggest regrets at death. Don't have to tell me twice to not do crime.
Sometimes you can end up there without ever doing a thing if you get really unlucky
@@ASmartNameForMe Entirely true, I don't think I go out enough for that to happen though lol
@@ASmartNameForMehow does that happen?
@@AImighty_Loaf you could just get really unlucky and get pinned for a crime you didn’t even know happened because random evidence perfectly aligned to make you top suspect
@@ASmartNameForMe when does that happen?
Another amazing video about a great show, keep them coming Larry🙌🙌
The fire rat story made me think of the time my friend went to cook dinner, turned on the oven after 15 minutes she smelled something weird. She opened the oven door and a rat jumped out and ran off.
Are poor thing.
Great show.
I agree 1000%
This is a great video, Larry, thank you. Surreal to watch. The most shocking aspect of the whole thing for me, though, was when you shared the fact that "all jumpsuits had pockets." Why would they give prisoners a hiding place on their standard-issue clothing? That really surprised me. Thanks again!
In that episode, everyone did die. That was the point of the attacks. Hank also confirms in dialogue they all died.
💯💯
Respect to this man, found a way to monetize the worst days of his life & turned his life around.
Show aside this is my first time watching you and it's inspiring to see someone be in jail for 11 years to then reform themselves
Larry I have to ask and I'm sorry if it upsets you . Did you ever feel guilty for pulling paperwork knowing if the person the papers were on were going to either be serious hurt or killed ?
If the person was a child molester then probably not. He’s talked about his hatred for pedos
@@strangebrew1231 yes I've seen his videos and I was a victim myself starting when I was 4 so I get it . I was just curious about his opinion on the other topics I wished my abuser had been killed for what he had done to me because he was my uncle but for his 6 month old daughter as well but know he is out now doing whatever. But like I said in my question to larry it was not to offend him or anyone else. But thank you for answering
He said he stopped doing it cause he didn’t want to get tied up in a murder conspiracy
I doubt he'd feel bad about getting a pedo killed lmfao or seriously hurt. I know id sleep better
"One of them brought back a lot of memories actually" That's terrifying lmao
20:36 it took an embarrassing amount of time for me to realize he was talking about actual rats and not just snitches.
The most impressive part of this storyline is how coordinated the attacks were. How intimidating would that be if a group took out a dozen people in different jails at the same time?
In the prisons of my country people literally use prisonmade swords and sabers due to the almost zero regulation of what happens inside
Hey Larry, you seem to highly regard due process, could you review the case of Steven Donzinger?
To give a brief of the case, he's an attorney that won a civil suit against Chevron in South America and Chevron was able to get him imprisoned back here in the states on bogus charges. Federally elected prosecutors refused to go after him and Chevron was able to find a former lobbyist to would prosecute and he was convicted without a jury.
I will look into it
@@LarryLawtonJewelThief Your jaw will DROP, it's absolutely insane.
@@sorted.rewarded26 Can you please email me that. larry@realitycheckprogram.com
Would love a video on you reviewing this case and shedding some light on it Lar
I'm very interested to learn more about that
Good Christ. The calm way this guy talks about extreme levels of violence is scary. Must be tough as nails.
Larry, I really really want to make a prison movie one day, and if I ever do I’m going to come to you as hopefully to ask you to an advisor. Love you bud
Black box! brings back memories! about being transferred . diesel therapy!
Oh soooo true
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Sounds like you had some really hard experiences and you’ve decided to try to make your life better. Kudos brother
I've been waiting for this one!
I try to please
The worst thing ive ever seen on a jail camera was an inmate having a panic attack, and repeatedly stabbing an inmate with a heated comb. After he calmed down he dropped his weapon and checked on the inmate he attacked. When the guards apprehended both of them, the victim was dragged off camera, and the inmate was strangley comforted by the officers. Turns out he was a new inmate who had been there for a week, and hit his limit.
I like how you sign off, brother helping the elderly is so good for your soul🤙
You gotta love the smooth jazz over the killings
I think the way the camera cuts could imply that the guys getting stabbed probably continue to receive wounds until guards are able to drag the attackers away. So there might still be another several dozen hits on these guys that we don’t see. Even so, it’s a good point that you do sometimes hear of people getting stabbed upwards of 60 times that survive. You’d definitely want to see more targeted shots to the vitals or the important blood vessels to be sure that these were lethal attacks
Hope to see you do a collab with big herc sometime. Great review
I will reach out to him
A rat *AND* a child molester in gen pop? The guards must have really wanted this dude dead lol
This was a good episode, describes the horrors of prison. Maybe if more people see people like you, talking about how bad life locked up is theyd be less inclined to fuck up life for those of us who arent.
"i call them poker scenes... and i don't mean cards" you are hilarious on top of being good at explaining
"The first thing I'd do is go get ice"
*My non-prison brain thinking, "Oh, for the bump on the guy's head? That's nice of you lol*
How is this happening in real life? Why isn't more being done to stop this? Surely we can!
@@slicknickbangers what about protrctive custody?
