I work in retail and was shocked to find out that there are people that throw away all their Christmas decorations every year and buy new ones, EVERY YEAR
WHAT??! Geeze... When I was younger, my Mum kept all the same decorations in a plastic bin, but there were two different colour ways, that way she still had some flexibility when decorating [but she didn't have to buy all new things]. Untangling the Christmas lights was a holiday tradition. 😅
i've had the same ornaments my whole life what !!! my mom bought new ones last year because we finally broke all of our gold ornaments. we usually buy smaller cutesy ones sometimes, like one or two every couple of years but thats that !
Could never be me. We grew up with the same ornaments every year and now with my own, the kids get a special ornament to add every year as a gift but I'll be using mine until they disintegrate 😅
Girl, where you been?! 🤣💜💜 It's bad. Those mommy/family channels really set that trend. Mumsy needs to shop each year multiple times to escape the crotch goblins 💀
I don’t think they are either. I worked for these people in the Hamptons and this stuff is for celebrity types or those who want to be not the older money. They don’t get scammed. Maybe their grandkids are now because of other influences. Idk.
my thoughts for why people would buy this are either 1. they’re buying a gift for someone and want to both flex on them and insult them or 2. they’re so rich that they’re literally not looking at prices and just buying stuff they want
Wealthy people do not shop directly on these sites. It's their assistants, team, stylists, party planners, designers, etc purchasing these for gifts, decor, and outfits to use for future events or occasions.
Our family ornaments are pretty sentimental. My great grandma painted all her grandkids, great grand kids, and great-great grandkids an ornament every year until she was passed at 100 years old. Now my mom paints me and my siblings an ornament each year. Every once and a while we will buy an ornament to mark an occasion.
I am not really into home decor and I certainly do nothing in my house for Christmas, but the trees I see that I love are the ones like your great grandma’s, the ones with handmade and sentimental ornaments, where someone will proudly recount the story of where each one came from. Trees that look like a $100/hour interior designer put them together are BORING!
@ I remember being a little kid, my dad telling me about how accessible two sticks are to eat with, and how unfussy. Why take the time to make intricate tools to eat with. Food is a necessity! And Gucci thinks dining is a luxury???
Honestly even searching in like, Japanese it brings up really nice ones for like 100 dollars. I don't think these Gucci ones can somehow offer 6x the quality.
i could literally go into the nearest chinese restaurant and just ask for chopsticks and they would probably just give me a pair. like i cannot think of a more obtainable item than chopsticks
Tbh I think these items exist for rich people to gift other rich people! What do you get for the man who has everything? A Prada volleyball, apparently!
My fav part is I googled the chopsticks and Gucci doesn't even offer care instructions on the site. It just says, "Gucci products are made with carefully selected materials. Please handle with care for longer product life.". Here's your 600 dollar chopsticks just uh...be nice to them I guess. Washing? Using? Never heard of her.
In the future you should check out Tiffany&Co items 👀 I once was in a room when someone gifted someone else a giant Tiffany bag as a wedding gift and it was most likely a $20k chess set (after snooping)
I bought my sister 2 Tiffany crystal champagne glasses to use for her wedding toast, they weren't crazy expensive actually and she was so excited for the big Tiffany bag 🤣
I used to work at a craft store that sold christmas ornaments. When they went in sale, after Christmas is when a lot of people would come to buy bunches of them on theme for the next year. Many people planned a themed tree on things like the beach, or some other color palette. All for the next year. It was interesting to see what they picked.
My family does something called an 'ornament exchange' where every person buys an ornament and then we pass them around the table on xmas eve to the story 'the night before christmas' but with the words 'right' and 'left' thrown in there. We wrap them and pass accordingly until everyone gets a new ornament! That being said, it's just one new ornament a year haha
My Dad’s side of the family also does an ornament exchange but we are a big, loud family full of competitive and sarcastic people so our ornament exchange is a truly vicious competition. Also it’s a point of pride for us to cheat so outrageously that a new rule gets added to the rule sheet. It’s a blast but probably not for the feint of heart. We are a lot and there A LOT of us.
7:37 - when I was a kid my mom let me pick out one new ornament every year and it was usually something sentimental. We would take a trip to a new city, some theme park, etc - see a christmas store and try to find a unique ornament to remember our trip by. Sometimes, she'd let me get more then one if we happened to go a few new places in a year. (mostly day trips, my parents are not wealthy lol) but I still treasure those ornaments to this day, and now I have my own baby (8 months old) and I plan to do the same with him. I got a few baby's first christmas for this year for him. It was my mom's version of a "trip T shirt souvenir" that lasted much longer then a shirt.
16:04 it took me how long to realize its not a bag made from a volleyball, but its just a volley ball. I thought it was a bag! I was like ok camp!!😂😂 But its an actual usable volleyball. No 😂😂😂
Our family tradition is that each year we get an ornament on Christmas Eve that represents us from that year (like we got married this year so I got the wedding one for this year), we’ve been doing it since we were little, and then when I was an adult I took mine through the years with me.
"Who are you flexing on?!" Probably people who also buy from the same brands & would recognize the designs. It's so inane to me... Thank you so much for this Glowmas gift! The combination of listening to you roast stupid designer products & deep Smokey lore is wonderful. 💕
IDK if you're into tabletop games as a whole or just stuff like cards/chess, but I'm currently packing for my trip to PAX Unplugged & your videos have truly helped relieve the stress, lolol
i've been subscribed for going on six years and i love that you're uploading again!!! really missed seeing you in my feed. got a bit jumpscared (in a good way) by the corning museum of glass mention, one of my favorite museums of all time!!!!!! soooooooo amazing for such a niche topic. ornaments are very special for my family too, we have two classes: the fancy nice ones that are passed down through generations, and the sentimental arts and crafts ones my siblings and i made when we were kids. one of my favorite things about christmastime is hanging up a flimsy popsicle stick and cotton ball santa right next to my great-grandma's waterford crystal baubles lol (which, compared to those gucci ornaments, are generally less expensive, prettier, more sustainable, and handmade by seasoned craftsmen every step of the way........)
This is my favorite video every glowmas! I also love the advent calendar ones so much! Just Hannah ranting about things I should not buy fills me with joy
I'm down here for this! The second I heard that I was like are you for real? What a fucking word salad way to try to get around that you didn't make it real gold in order to have a higher profit margin.
20:57 lol 'I think it's crazy you can just add this to your shopping bag, I think it's crazy you can just make this purchase. If you wanted to right now.'
The Dior napkin ring design is giving Australiana kitsch. I can’t explain it, but as an Australian, I would expect to see something like that at Kmart for $4 and my mother-in-law would set the Christmas lunch table with them
7:29 I certainly don’t - My family Christmas tree always has the same ornaments I remember from childhood. Occasionally, we’ll add one if we see something particularly cute (or if it’s something my yours cousins made at school), but we never throw them out unless they’re literally broken beyond repair.
I’ve been doing a thing where I try to buy unique custom when we have a milestone in our family (engagement, marriage etc), and often pick up ornaments when we see them while out at events or other fun things. Apart from that, my first year after moving out I bought some ornament sets, mostly plain ones but some cute one-offs. Now every year I poke around and see if I can find anything that’s the right vibe to buy and add to the tree, with the goal that eventually it will all be unique ornaments.
My family does travel ornaments! Over the years, any time we went somewhere we'd pick up a local ornament or two to add to the pile. We recently visited the Buccees gas station and picked one up there! 😂
some of my favorite xmas ornaments include: my childhood best friend's 2nd grade class picture on a flat piece of plastic, a home depot ball ornament from when my dad worked there 25 years ago, and one of those ones you can get your family's names written on, but at the time we got it, the family was just me, my mom, a cat, and a goldfish. Gidget and Gil were important members of the family
When we were little, my mom saved up old aluminum can lids, and bought some small circular mirrors from the craft store, and had me and my brother decorate them with sequins and glitter, and we still use them as ornaments every year
i am so so happy you’re back and doing well you deserve all the good energy and love this holiday season! keep doing what you’re doing, your videos are so insanely comforting which honestly says a lot abt your character thank u for coming back
We get a couple of handmade, customized with the year ornaments at a local craft fair every year. It's a nice tradition, especially as the numbers get bigger!
Wait I know this is sooo niche but before starting this video the thumbnail made me think of the famous Mackenzie childs pattern that everyone in rochester has all over their house and as a rochester girl like you, I would LOVE if someone on youtube could do a deep dive into the craze that is Mackenzie-childs in upstate new york
7:29 So we do buy one new ornament every year, but we do so with the purpose of passing those on to our child when he moves out and gets her own tree. And no, they aren’t luxury branded ornaments!
Same here! My parents have bought me a different ornament every year since I was born that reflect what I liked that year. They still buy my brother and I one every year as adults now. It’s such a fun tradition to look forward to. But they are not luxury brand 😂 We normally get them from Hallmark!❤
i’m sitting here laughing at how crazy these prices are and then it hits me that someone spends my entire years tuition (that i had to take out loans for) on a chess set… god i hate capitalism
Napkin rings are super useful! My family uses them all the time. The purpose of them is to let people know where they sit without making it formal with name cards. It’s great when you have family coming over to visit. Love your videos!
The Gucci tables are a take on traditional Moroccan tables that consist of a tray and a stand and used like coffee tables. They could also be like traditional British trays with stands that servants used to serve the rich in bed for breakfast.
The luxury brands haven’t lost their minds. As another commenter mentioned, it’s not the millionaires buying this garbage. The middle to upper middle class folks who buy this stuff, trying to look richer than they really are, all the while making themselves less and less rich through these frivolous purchases - THAT’S who has lost their minds. If people wouldn’t buy the stuff and there was no demand, they couldn’t charge these insane prices.
“Wealth whispers…. But who are you whispering to?” Girl you ATE-
@@ChaosBrink no crumbs!!
So did I. Now I gotta poop.
This gagged me LMAO
I love this video! You are so right about the ridiculousness of luxury brands and their Christmas items. You went in and I’m here for it!
crying 😭 also, "just" the fact we're watching glowmas... amazing
WHAT!!! Wtf about tradition and saving stuff from your family?
Could never be me. We grew up with the same ornaments every year and now with my own, the kids get a special ornament to add every year as a gift but I'll be using mine until they disintegrate 😅
Girl, where you been?! 🤣💜💜 It's bad. Those mommy/family channels really set that trend. Mumsy needs to shop each year multiple times to escape the crotch goblins 💀
My biggest flex is my 1998 Barbie ornament like sorry none of these luxury brands could everrrrr compare
My sister has one in a red dress from 02! I’m a little jelly
I have the 1996 one! It's one of my favorites.
Mine is the 2000 Barbie. It’s my favorite ornament!
I have one or two Barbie ornaments from the 1990s too, probably 1994, the year our oldest child was born.
I could be a billionaire I would never buy an $800 LV jump rope!! Makes no sense!!
I don’t think they are either. I worked for these people in the Hamptons and this stuff is for celebrity types or those who want to be not the older money. They don’t get scammed. Maybe their grandkids are now because of other influences. Idk.
"Um, so...these, can be free." Regarding Gucci chopsticks made me LOL so hard 🤣
Yeah, you can literally get a set of chopsticks when you buy a pack of instant noodles such as IndoMie
Honestly having been around high multi millionaires and billionaires…they do not buy this stuff. These are new money flex culture products.
"First of all, Venmo me 💅🏻" lmao I lost it
i was holding space for glowmas all day, ty queen ❤
holding space 😭 w comment
Same ❤
holding space 😩
I didn’t know this was happening 😭😭
Lmaoooo same 😂
"my dad has a wood working channel on RUclips btw" SENT MEEEE like why are we getting so much lore in this video 😂
Right! 😆So many fun facts she shared!
Lazy luxury items like these are SUCH a scam. I love your breakdown of the madness!!
my thoughts for why people would buy this are either 1. they’re buying a gift for someone and want to both flex on them and insult them or 2. they’re so rich that they’re literally not looking at prices and just buying stuff they want
Mostly corporate gifting I would assume, crap to flex on people you don't even know lol
@rachel2426 1 makes sense. I could see certain rich people going "lololol now this fuck is indebted to me forever" over an $800 jump rope.
'theres not even diamonds on this' gives the same energy as 'she doesn't even go here' lmao
😂😂😂
The first item right off the bat with *THAT* price was like a bucket of cold water thrown on my face
Wealthy people do not shop directly on these sites. It's their assistants, team, stylists, party planners, designers, etc purchasing these for gifts, decor, and outfits to use for future events or occasions.
“Why don’t they get a custom set of Christmas ornaments” because that would require imagination and vision
I’m 6 days sober and struggling with withdrawal, your video gave me something to focus on and enjoy, thank you, so glad you’re back.
Proud of you ❤️
you are so strong baby, you got this ❤️

I'm so proud of you! recovering addict myself. we got this! one day at a time 💙 keep drinking water/liquids
Our family ornaments are pretty sentimental. My great grandma painted all her grandkids, great grand kids, and great-great grandkids an ornament every year until she was passed at 100 years old. I’m an East Asian person, eating noodles with chopsticks watching this. They’re STICKS… $650 USD for STICKS
you can even get really nice chopsticks for a hell of a lot less!
And by gosh you should know being east Asian. I'm listening to you! Lol
@ I remember being a little kid, my dad telling me about how accessible two sticks are to eat with, and how unfussy. Why take the time to make intricate tools to eat with. Food is a necessity! And Gucci thinks dining is a luxury???

Me, a girl who lives not even a mile from the Corning Museum of Glass, with my construction paper & pipe cleaner ornaments :)
LOL! My friend lives super close to that museum! Beautiful. Gift shop on point. We do not have a tree covered in hand-blown glass 😂
Glowmas is genuinely getting me through this month. Thank you Hannah
The chopsticks are wild when you consider a Gucci belt is $350. And you can actually wear and use a belt! I’m in shock at the $650 chopsticks
Prob because they are trying to target ultra wealthy Asians whom are fanatical about designer labels and would but the these literally in bulk
These videos are bringing me so much comfort - merry Glowmas!

Gold toned metal is actually crazy
I'm down here for this! The second I heard that I was like are you for real? What a fucking word salad way to try to get around that you didn't make it real gold in order to have a higher profit margin.

I've been hanging the same ornaments my whole life and it feels more special every year
The fits are ABSOLUTELY killing this glowmas !!!
20:57 lol 'I think it's crazy you can just add this to your shopping bag, I think it's crazy you can just make this purchase. If you wanted to right now.'

loveee these videos showing silly things and roasting them. it’s a nice palette cleanser from all the shit happening in the world lol
Not gonna lie, I’m jazzed that you’re back and doing glowmas! Every night I open RUclips and I’m like WOOOOOO🎉
I love the Corning Museum of Glass! I did a road trip there for my birthday and made a huge vase. It was so cool!
The only ornaments I buy are when my husband and I travel. We try to get ab ornament in every new place we visit together.
Ngl, that's genius! My family does magnets
Lots of love from Toronto!!!
You posting regularly again has made my heart so happy!
hannah you are quite literally my favorite person on the internet like ive been tuning in for years and im so happy to see you back
I am so thrilled to have this to look forward to! I've also managed to work "doll-hairs" into my everyday vernacular so thanks for that!
I actually love these videos of you roasting luxury brands :)
I am pretty sure all this is "silent luxury" for poor people who prioritize flexing and think this is awesome
This was funny dude, actually laughed out loud 😂 wonder if my mom still has the ornament i made at CMOG
We are truly being fed so well, with all this content
Was never interested in luxury goods but here I am hahah! You make any subject entertaininggg, also woah the eye makeup
Not me excitedly saying your entire intro with you~ missed these videos so much! Merry Glowmas!!! 😍
