There's a whole community dedicated to low-buy, no-buy and use-up. Have you considered project pan, shop my stash (which is basically creating a capsule wardrobe for makeup) or eyeshadow roulette challenges? It can be a fun way to slow the urge to shop. I can relate to shopping to self-soothe. I also lost my mom to cancer and grief can exacerbate things. Like, I'm only excited about buying new plants these days.
Use ups is a great idea! I tried shop my stash but I didn’t love feeling tied to using one product for a set period? But use ups!!! And I’m really really sorry for your loss. I lost my mom to cancer 2 years ago so I totally understand what you’re going through. Sending you lots of love ❤️
I struggle with a mild shopping addiction as well (mild defined by not going into consumer debt but still feeling somewhat out of control with my spending). This Black Friday season was bad for me. I spent way more money than I wanted to. With the election i was feeling very down and it coincided with the Black Friday season which was a bad combo. I decided I need an accountability buddy when I am really tempted by a purchase. Someone who understands what I’m struggling with. Don’t currently have anyone in mind, but it’s a goal :)
It’s a great goal! My best friend and I are being that for each other this year. So happy that I’m not the only one who’s feeling like this and wanting to make a change
The main ingredient in that spray is Hypochlorous acid, and you can find sprays with that much cheaper online! This past year I started a low-buy, and I think I’m going to try a mostly no-buy for next year. I will never use a fraction of all the eyeshadows I own 😭
!!!! I am gonna look up Hypochlorous acid!! Thank you for that!! And yes omg I haven’t bought an eyeshadow palette in a year and I feel like I’ll never have to buy another one. It is impossible to go through all of them! I think this year for me is a low buy because I still want to go to like Sephoria and the Allure Best of Beauty events so maybe I’ll try to just buy those tickets?
I'm curious if you have a plan in mind of how you're aiming to track/ascertain your success for consumption reduction in 2025? I also bought quite a lot this year, but I am also buffering myself for the tariff situation next year. I'm anticipating a significant drop in things I buy from brands that will be harshly affected by it.
That’s been a struggle for me too. I have a little voice in the back of my head that reminds me the price will likely go up a lot for the next four years. Which has made responsible spending more challenging.
Yeah I think I’ve also been struggling with this. I think my plan is to leave more things in my cart for like 2 weeks and if I’m still thinking about it after 2 weeks then I’ll purchase it, instead of making impulse purchases. But I don’t have any formal plan
@@jordanbelknap9168 don't put too much pressure on yourself, as it was never supposed to be this hard to get by. If you know you'll definitely use what you buy now, then we can exercise more vigilance when prices do go up.🙂 A friend of mine recently went to Korea with two empty suitcases, and came back with both of them filled with skincare and cosmetics (especially sunscreen).
@@megantobias this is seriously what helped me cut my purchases down probably by 90%. its sooo hard but so worth it once you see the difference in your finances and mental health. finding another hobby to use as a distraction when shopping would usually happen is also very very helpful
The title reads like a confessional “forgive me father for I have ~over consumed~”
Bahahahahahaha

My bad, I saw shop my stash videos on your channel, but panning or use-ups still might help ;)
