First concert: The Beatles (Olympia Stadium, Detroit 1964). I was 12. The original Fleetwood Mac was my favorite band of the 60s. I saw them twice at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit in '68 and '69 and once at a tiny club called Silverbell. With friends I drove through the worst blizzard of my life to get there. Only 15 kids turned out for the concert but Fleetwood Mac played anyway. Afterward they hung out with all of us for about an hour. I met them all. An indelible experience.
    Love your music.
    All the best,
    Rob

Wow, that’s impressive!! Fellow Michigander here. I think the Rockets did the best version of this song. Loved watching them perform with Johnny B Badanczek on drums, Jim McCarty on lead guitar and Dave Gilbert singing vocals.

Peter Green's Original Fleetwood Mac...love it love it love it. Was listening to this album in the late sixties. First concert, not sure. It would have been in the same time frame, 69-70. B. B. King, Jefferson Airplane, Siegal Shwall Blues Band, MIghty Joe Young, Jethro Tull, or Country Joe and the Fish. Wasn't the first, but I also saw The Grateful Dead at the Electric Theatre. Between sets, the band would walk around the room and visit with the concert goers.. Jerry Garcia approached me and a couple of friends and lit up a "j" and passed it around. Now that's a memory.
Angela, you are a great teacher, but PLEASE invest in a couple of hair clips! It's really distracting. Greetings from Chicago!

Fantastic lesson, Angela! I haven't found anyone else who's broken down this essential blues-rock song as well as you did. Here's how good your lesson is: I can play it now after days of trying on my own and getting it wrong!
My first concert was the Yardbirds in Tacoma on May 17, 1968 with Jimmy Page, almost exactly a year before I saw Page with Led Zeppelin in Seattle at the Green Lake Aqua Theater, where they were second-billed to Three Dog Night, which was at that point a better band than Led Zep. On May 29, 1968, less than two weeks after I saw the Yardbirds in Tacoma, I saw Cream in Seattle at Eagles Auditorium. Those were the days!

3-10. (GMT) Best online tutor I have ever seen. Progress through some very complex riffs is perfect for me. I have played pretty solidly for more than 20 years. I was also a high school teacher for 20 years and Angela is in my opinion not only an accomplished guitarist but more importantly a VERY GOOD teacher. Amazing! Taught me an awful lot! P.s I have never bothered to comment on any RUclips video - ever. The fact I felt moved to do so to this should tell you something! (sounds very British when I say it like that ) it always seems to intrigue this very pretty and talented teacher where we are. Dave from Scotland (still part of the UK) 1/7/24 (7th January 2024)

Great lesson Angela. Fleetwood Mac was one of the first blues groups I ever heard in the early sixties. My first concert was the Rolling Stones at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, CA on June 5, 1964. It was the Stones very first concert in the U.S. The promoter almost landed the Beatles for that night, but the booking fell through at the last minute and the Stones got the gig. It was pretty amazing - once the first few chords were played, the girls began screaming and we couldn't hear the rest of the song.

First concert Beatle's 1964 Liverpool Empire theatre. Think they only had AC30s and a small PA. All the girls were screaming so loud it was impossible to hear them. Unless you screamed yourself I soon discovered. As someone already mentioned your teaching really good technique as well as the song . Thank You. 🙏

From Corvallis Oregon - Here's me dating myself. Rolling Stones was my first concert and it was actually their first concert in the states. Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino CA 1964 - I was 12 - My folks knew the local DJs at KMEN radio and they were given 4 tix. Fast forward 6 years (decades in rock yeah?) 1970, the Warehouse in New Orleans I was mesmerized by how long Mick Fleetwood's hair was ! And the way he played! With his head cocked to the side and his mouth open - I was really into slide players (due to my affinity with Johnny Winter) so I was also focused on Danny Kirwan - To be honest, I don't remember if Peter was there or not? Must have been as this was before Christine, etc. Anyhoo... Thanks for listening.

Great lesson, as always. I just wish you or other teachers would go into the second part of Oh Well, as it is on the album. It's a very long, drawn out acoustic piece that's just magical. It almost sounds like something out of an old 1960s-70s Italian-made Western. But so many just do the beginning part, and yours is one of the better ones as it really goes into technique.

Hi Angela, it's a year and a half since you posted this video. First concert... Hmmmm Vanilla Fudge... 1967 or 68. They played at my day camp when I was 13 or 14 years old. Sold me on playing rock and roll, and have played guitar ever since! This song, Oh Well, I first heard around 1969 I think... I couldn't play it then. Way to advanced for me. BUT.... in the past years, it has become a tune I love to jam on with my buds here in PA and NYC. We are old, we are worn out, but our guitars are all vintage and well played by seasoned musicians.... Nice job on the video. I had to learn it by ear, then watching a live video from 1969 gave me hints at the three parts being played... Once you got it, you have it for life!
WAIT!!! I forgot, my Dad's buddy took us kids to a Rolling Stones concert in 65 in Philly. Front Row! I was 10 years old. I wanted to see the Beatles and was mad about going to see The Stones. Do the kids a lesson on Mick Jagger's Moonlight Mile... That should get the kids rockin in a smooth bluesy way.

Hi, I'm watching this video from Germany, but grew up in the Midwest. My first real concert was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in the late 70's. The opening group was called Rocket, and one of the songs they played was (dah dah daaaah) Oh Well by Fleetwood Mac. First time I'd ever heard that tune, but I loved it so much that, decades later, when I was in a band of my own, I convinced my bandmates to do our own cover of the song. It's a more intricate piece than most people realize, but that's part of what makes it so great. Thanks for breaking it down for we amateurs. 👍👍👍😏😏😏

Longbranch (Toronto) I find it much harder to play it slow as apposed to fast. You’d be a great neighbour! Lol Oh! First concert; Outdoor concert 1970 with Humble Pie, Black Sabbath, Three Dog Night and quite a few others. I think it was $3 admission.

Wow! Great lesson. I normally dont have the attention span for anything longer than a few minutes.....particularly when there is a lot of talking, but Angela is a natural teacher so the perseverence was well worth it. Looking forward to exploring more lessons

Back again, another like and comment. From, near Nashville, first concert, Edgar and Johnny Winter. Not sure about second, either Cars, Rush or terrible Ted, long time ago, and probably influenced. I learned this one a long time ago, but now I get to see what I did wrong. Love it, thanks again, you’re wonderful!
