My 37 year old son, deceased in July of 2021, was a Neil Young afficianado and played his music on guitar very nicely. Most unfortunately, now that he is gone I am learning Neil Young songs. This song, Harvest Moon in particular, makes me weep, especially those three opening chords and the harmonics ... such sweet music that reminds me of my boy.

Hello Angela, you are playing the song that my eldest daughter slept with when she was a baby in 1993 (30 today), I am almost 66 years old, (I am also a guitarist) and listening to you I have beautiful memories of those times when my wife was still alive. She died, she left in 2009 something very sad. I lived through the 60s/70s and enjoyed the music of those times. I love hearing you sing and play. I have seen your band and you are really very beautiful and talented, I congratulate you. I am also a guitarist. Well I say goodbye I do not want to bother you anymore I just wanted you to know that I recently found you on RUclips and I was captivated and you know what? I am writing to you from Buenos Aires Federal Capital; Argentina, the country where I was born. It was nice meeting you. I send you a big hug and a kiss and take good care of yourself. It was nice meeting you.

I know I’m late to this video, but I hope you see this:
I’ve been fiddling with guitar since 1995. I own several fantastic acoustic and electric guitars but I CANT PLAY. I have ADHD and I know a million chords, tons of theory, but I can’t play ONE song, beginning to end. Until now. After a million videos and noodling for over 20 years, I now know a song. Even the harmonics. Side benefit: my strumming is now ten times better than it was a week ago. Thank you. Hopefully it won’t take me another 20 years to learn the next one.

Just a note, play the actual song first please because sometimes you can’t imagine a song by the title (or even know the song). But if we hear it, it’s like oh yeah, hell yeah I need to know that!
I honestly only knew about that song recently because my 74 year old mom sent me the video a year or so ago, although I vaguely remember it from around mid 90s (I was in a different world then than everyone else 😂). Now I’m 47, and only really know Neil’s solo 70s stuff and CSN&Y.
I really like your teaching style, just constructive criticism I hope!

Louisiana, problem is I recently gave my 28yr old son my go to 6 string which leaves me with the only other acoustic guitar I have an Epiphone DR-212/N 12 string. Drop D sounds horrible on this 12 string! Is it my guitar or something else? Every other open tuning I’ve played all sounded great, not sure why I’m having this issue. By the way, your lesson is very precise and clear to follow, I’m just bummed that I can’t get on the same page as you! Looking forward to your response, #Dfighter

Angela, I love you but you need to either sing on the parts that are rhythmically confusing or tell us what beat a certain part falls on. Like right after the harmonics you start strumming on beat 4. I had to listen to the original to figure out what was really happening, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but this is not the first time I've encountered this difficulty with your teaching style. I realize beginners don't want to learn to count but rhythm (counting) is at least as important as chords (notes) and I feel we are doing a disservice to our students by ignoring this basic element of music. Thanks, and please come to Michigan so we can jam sometime.❤🧡💚💙💜

Thanks for the chords but wayyyyyyyy too much talking;) Also, you don't need to touch all the harmonic strings with one finger tip, just lay your ring or pinkie finger over the 12th fret on the first four harmonics and then your index finger is an inch or so away from the fifth harmonic note...

Does scratching noise in the very beginning of the song, he's done with a broom and sand on a wooden floor gently brushing the broom across the sand rhythmically. Just a little fun fact

Favorite venue growing up was the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino California, it was small so no matter where you were you were close to the stage, saw many top acts up close and personal until one day a small airplane crashed into it!😔

cleveland and out here a hippy bought a old abandon flooded rock quarry.. and make no mistake the best concert and fest venue is family owned and operated and has crystal clear water to swim at with a beach and since its technically private property if the location enviroment and food trucks for food isnt amazing enough theres a huge fence around it... which means camp swim and see shows and cops arnt invited and niether are ticket companys..

Hi Angela. This is the first video I've seen from you. Never seen a tutorial over an hour before for one song. I have to say, I was taken by your beauty!
