Thank Christ. Finally brings an end to the “which team is stupid and desperate enough to hire him” debate.

“Technically college coaches can leave for the NFL, so ‘Mr. Mara’ can still sign Bill”

@ Let’s hope not. Bill’s cooked and apathetic. He just wants a team desperate enough to give him, his flunkies, his idiot sons, and maybe his girlfriend a treehouse for poker nights. You’ll get two seasons of 7-9 and a 4-12 before he “retires.”

I watch NFL games and I see far more empty seats than I did 10 years ago....college football is still on an upward trajectory and is about to explode with the new college football playoffs. It is easy to root for kids, most of whom will never play in the NFL, compared to these primadonnas in the NFL who are hugging and smiling with each other in the middle of the field 15 seconds after a playoff elimination. I think people are missing that point. Coaching in college is not a downgrade in my opinion.

Gio forgets how Belichick cratered the Patriots franchise without Brady to carry him.

To be fair to an extent, it really doesn’t help that the patriots were completely depleted in order to keep Brady around for those last couple of years and just by sheer weight of attrition of 2 decades of Super Bowl runs finally catching up to them. Like they squeezed out 1 final turd of a Super Bowl win against the Rams because of it but it was going to be ugly even if Brady decided to stick around.

So most of the kids he will recruit were 10 or 11 years old the last time he won a Super Bowl. Really hard to see many 16 or 17 year olds being excited to be recruited by a guy older than their grandfathers. And oh by the way, if you do get the commitment, the first time BB coaches a player hard the kid will transfer. Nobody in college is under contract and you don't hold their rights. The players can transfer whenever want. Try that, "We're on to Virginia..." on a teenager's mom when she is angry her kid didn't play and he will get the elbow of death.

    • @soulaudio5389

Totally disagree....if Belechick successfully turns North Carolina into a perennial top-10 program, nobody will be transferring out of there.

Yeah these guys take is really poor. I don't see this working out since we put because college is More so on getting the most hallen than it is on coaching. Coaching is critical in college but you can be a lousy coach But an excellent Identify of talent and recruiter and you can succeed. Bill's biggest weakness especially at the end of his tenure was identifying talent

There are owners like Kahn, maybe Jerry who are big collage fans and put 1 minor 2nd contract money into their program so they have something to watch and cheer for. Then there is the want to be owner who the XFL or indoor football team doesn't not get it done, for money or availability are locked out of the NFL. Most probably were big collage fans when in school or they would not have this interest, this is where they put that single year of a minor 2nd contract money into their program so they can sit in their sky box, injured and ex-players visit, they hang out on the sideline. Bill will go out to dinner with them any time, he still has to eat, and talk football, players, and games. They enjoy it more than some minor league team and it costs a lot less, there are probably twice as many want to be an NFL owner as owners. North Caroline has a lot of major cities and is a rather wealthy state, that school is the place fans in that state would put their money even if they did not go to that school.
