I loved you saying your knee climbing set up just rolls up and “lives” in your chest pouch when not in use. I use the same expression this thing lives here, that thing lives there. My granddaughter picked up on it and uses the same expression to describe where a thing is kept. Generally used to describe the location of tools in this home, I guess it may be a “guy thing” worldwide to say some inanimate object lives here or there. It really was a thing for a while with the wife and quite funny, but now she will say the same thing about where something is kept at times and we all chuckle . Enjoyed your tutorial.

That was a clear explanation on how a knee ascender works. 👍

If you put more tension on the bungie cord from the top of the Croll to your chest attachment it would get you a couple more inches of upward movement per step wouldnt it ?

Yeah for sure. For me I do find that smaller steps at a higher frequency help me be efficient. The bigger steps exhausts me quicker 😅

    Great video mate,
can I ask where you got the tether for the eye to eye at the bottom on the system? Could you just use a bit of throw line? Thanks again

Hey mate! It’s actually a custom tether to perfectly for my height and step. We did a video on making it. I’ll link it below. Let me know how you get on:

That's a great idea for the knee ascender storage! What hitch do you use with your rope wrench? And how long is the cord? Thanks 😊

Thanks mate!! I run a Knut hitch, with a 10mm Donaghys ArmorPrus eye to eye (30inch). Love the 10mm prusik with a Knut. Here’s a link to my exact one 😊🤙

Got a question, is it possible to combine hand ascenders and foot/knee ascenders to have a 4 ascender system?

    Great video
I am a saddle hunter, can I ascend with this method using srt / grigri and hand ascender with foot loop and knee ascender?? Looks easier than what a
I am doing but can I use current equipment

    • @justinliedtke5570
      @justinliedtke5570 Год назад +1

It would be a little slower than this demo if youre using the gri gri. That device wouldn't self tend going up like the set up shown. Its still possible , but not as smooth or fast

Like @justinliedtke5570 said. The Grigri hand ascender method is commonly known as a RAD system. Easier to lift your weight but just takes longer to get the height.

How tall are you? I am 5ft 9in tall . I like your method of rope walking. Do you make and sell the knee ascended setup, what would it cost?

Dan is 5’7” and is actually running a custom knee ascender. Here’s a video we made, showing how you can make your own custom Knee Ascender:

i have the notch chest rig and even maxed out i always end up wrestling to get it over my jacket in the winter , so the easiest way for my impatient ass is to take some 8mil and weave a harness faster than i can try to squeeze in my chest harness and the way i twist and tie it i have good anchor points to use , they need to make harnesses for dudes that are 6’ and 55” chest and then a coat 😂

Very true 😁. They’re a cool piece of kit. I just like how compact this custom setup is though. Completely out the way until you need it.
