"Professionals hit BOUNCE". Thank you Jesse. That's probably the most valuable piece of advice I got so far in this business. I'm writing it on my wall right now.
At the end of the day, you don’t make a whole pie with one ingredient. There’s a lot of ungrateful complainers out there who don’t see the bigger picture even on the not so great months. For example, I’ve followed your channel and one particular valuable tool I got was a video you shared on how to email libraries the right way. This helped me land my first sync gig… sure I’ve had some great months… and not so great months… but I also view my association with them as something that adds credibility to my session work service, my guitar tutoring etc and more. I recently shared a sample pack with one library and one of their other composers reached out to me asking to collab. It’s about building relationships. I have a “how can I help them attitude” rather than “where’s my pie.” I think you’re bang on to share videos which filter out those who aren’t compatible with these realities. The internet isn’t short of people sugar coating the reality so if people don’t like it they can migrate to those channels. Thanks for everything Jesse. Keep the videos coming man. 🔥
I really appreciate what you're doing Jesse. For my own involvement in Sync Licensing I am not expecting to make a fulltime living at this, but only to make side income from the music that I will be writing anyway. I love the challenge and the game of trying to write music that is useful for film & TV clients. Its hard and I've never expected that it would be easy. But, I love working at this and, in spite of the challenges, I've improved at this in part due to the advice that I have received from your channel. But your 'DO NOT SYNC' advice is making me realize that I need to pace myself on this to prevent burnout. The big payoff may never come, but I can stay in the habit of creating/submitting music and that makes me happy.
The most honest person on this topic, bar none. I think it’s easier to keep composing if you’ve thought through the horror side of the business rather than getting your heart crushed after killing yourself and investing money for a few years of futility. I really try to create without attaching any thoughts about making money to it, and even if I never place a thing I have fed my soul. Thanks Jesse.
Hi Jess, thanks for your honesty! I play this game for about 10 years now. To everyone who asks me about a sync licensing, I answer that it’s work, work and more work... + faith and hope for the best :).
Ignore the haters bro. Really appreciate the honesty. I was a member of your sync but realized I cant commit to what is needed for this. I'll try but I know what I'm up against.
Seems that there was a monster created from the YEARS worth of sync license videos by a bunch of sync music RUclips content creators on RUclips telling tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands of viewers that sync music is a super easy get-rich quick plan (scheme) for anybody with a DAW and some VSTs.
A lot of the concept of only making full income by number of tracks doesn’t apply to the trailer world I believe. The bar is so high and the tracks require so much more work that it’s not really fair to say to quit if they aren’t cranking out thousands of tracks

You are exhibiting empathy and kindness by not sugar coating it and keeping it real. Good on you!

All those people bashing you are obviously new new to the channel. Long time follower here!
