    DAS BIERHALLE
    O, the smell of fresh-baked bread,
    And the sound of laughter and cheer,
    The taste of a cold German beer,
    And the feeling of being here.
    The walls are covered in wood,
    And the tables are long and wide,
    The chairs are sturdy and good,
    And the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
    The food is plentiful and delicious,
    The service is friendly and fast,
    The prices are reasonable,
    And the experience is one you won't soon forget.
    So come on down to Das Bierhalle,
    And enjoy a taste of Germany,
    You won't be disappointed.

    It’s die Bierhalle, not das Bierhalle. So maybe they should consider renaming.

      "Das Bierhalle" is the correct one.
      The German word for "beer hall" is "Bierhalle". The word "Bier" is neuter in gender, so the definite article is "das". The word "Halle" is feminine in gender, so the definite article is "die". However, when a compound noun is formed with a neuter noun as the first element and a feminine noun as the second element, the gender of the compound noun is always neuter. Therefore, the correct form is "das Bierhalle".
      Here are some examples of other compound nouns with neuter genders:
      * Das Daschund (dachshund)
      * Das Doppelzimmer (double room)
      * Das Fahrrad (bicycle)
      * Das Fenster (window)
      * Das Messer (knife)
      * Das Radio (radio)
      * Das Sofa (sofa)
      * Das Spiel (game)
      * Das Tier (animal)
      * Das Wasser (water)
      I took two semesters of German in college in 1968 but I forgot everything I learned. I relied on Google Gemini AI to help me to find to correct answer.

      @@warrenchiu4152 I am a German native speaker. It's "die Bierhalle", like "die Wartehalle" (waiting room) or "die Preisliste" (price list). In your examples, it's "der Dachshund", not "das". The rule that AI told you about doesn't exist - such things sometimes happen with AI.
      You can also have a look at the German version of Wikipedia (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bierpalast): "Ein Bierpalast oder eine Bierhalle ist eine Gaststättenform, ..." It's the feminine form ("eine Bierhalle" -> "die Bierhalle").
      Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany ;)

      Thank you both for clarifying the proper use of die. In fact, Gemini gave me three answers. The first answer looked reasonable to me and I ignored the other two answers which pointed out that die is correct. Normally, Gemini gave me the same answers explaining in three different ways to ensure that I can understand. I was quite careless this time because I was not concerned whether its name is correct or not. I only cared whether the restaurant has schweinshaxe dish or not. I was disappointed that it does not serve schweinshaxe. I had schweinshaxe in a German restaurant in Hong Kong. German foods helped to refresh our memory of our trip to Germany - ruclips.net/video/k20EMTKo_2c/видео.html.
      I have three great German friends - Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. I listened to classical music before I was born.
