Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.
Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.
EXPANSIVE EMPIRES:
See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.
ACTIVE RESEARCH:
Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.
DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY:
Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.
COMBINED ARMS:
Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.
ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER:
In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.
A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS:
Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems introduce new players to the underlying concepts so they can easily get started.

I HOPE YE LIKE BAGPIPES LADDIE
"This start sucks" - Natural Wonder - "Never Mind" LMAO
You really know how to showcase the intricacies of support and terrain bonuses in battle. Those are the things that all players need to learn, in fact it was with your videos that I learnt these important steps and that lead me to my best victories ever. Although I will probably never ever take on a game like this I will enjoy watching you do it.
Nice start. "you are in ninteenth place" is not something I'm used to seeing in Civ
As a Chilean, it gives some chills to see the Mapuches here. I am just wondering, in a historical point of view, if the Mapuches could have been considered as a Civilization as such, as compared with the Incas or Mayas. Nevertheless, looking forward to watch the entire series :D
Arent the Mapuches argetinian ?
@@segurostenconi8543 Mapuche territories covered parts of both argentina and chile, however they were much more numerous on the chilean side.
They could never compare. As another fellow Chilean, it gives me chills to see the Mapuches here, but not because it is cool, but because it's embarassing to see mapuches neighboring with ACTUALLY civilizations. Mapuches almost didn't have agriculture, were disperse, and the only great thing they accomplished was to defend their homeland from the spanish. Beyond that, there is only cosmology and myths.
@@mirko7587that's just ignorance. While they were certainly not an empire it's kinda racist and embarrassing to say what you said.
The Mapuche had this really cool decentralized society which made them immune to conquerors. The way they related to eachother and stablished power is different interesting and their tongue is a gateway to the past and early american settlers.
More than a civilization, they were a nuisance@@cegalleta
Just goes to show what a great early bonus that Giant's Causeway is. Looking forward to the next episode now
Really like the intensity of this setup/series. Keep fighting !
(Last thing you want is to have to quote the Scotsman whose dog ran away:
"Och, I lost Mapuche…")
Take my heart and get out.
This comment earned him a sub.
Best 50 turn start I’ve ever seen!
Great start! I was glued to the screen during this stream!
uh... video... not stream...
I forgive you.
28:48
Yes of course i will just build this warrior in INFINTE turns
What an intense start, im really loving this brutal deity series!
I got so excited watching this! Very fun, great start.
Love the voice, love your expertise, love the pace (and being able to pause video). The Civ addiction has hit me again. Game seems crazy with all these Civs. Learning so much. GREAT WORK!
Off to a really great start here.
Fantastic start potato! I learn so much from you.
Very nice start. Except for the pantheon since the kongo being the one civ that doesnt get holy sites. There were a few unit movements that could have been better, but it was far beyond my usual skill ingame. Keep it up!
Congrats Potato, great to see you kicking ass!
Hi Potatoe !!!
I got so much better after seeing this Mapuche series. Awesome content, great work!!! Hoping to see you make videos of the upcoming 'Gathering Storm' too. Thanks again!!!!!
We're not worthy, we're not worthy...thanks Potato
Very exciting episode! 😘
Its so funny that they added the mapuche. It feels like adding a pidgeon to a flock of hawks and eagles.
Really enjoyable lets plays man.
Nice job dude! Spear of Fionne for the win!
Real boats rock. Good luck this time round, sir. A little token of appreciation sent your way. ^_^
RUclips hid my channel from my feed for around 5 months, I just got back to your channel and it has grown so much! Congrats!
Very nice.
absolutely beautiful man!!
Played this really well , I would have probably hit restart with this start location xD
Very nice start
its a great start.
PotatoMcWhiskey, I think the game gods know you are Irish to have you spawn so close to the Giants Causeway or maybe it's just the luck of the Irish.
or maybe he's played Civ6 so many times that it ended up happening.
Gotta put encampments along the two tiles above the Spear of Fionin. So even thought they have to walk further (build trade routes) they automatically get the bonus and you don’t waste time moving to and from the Wonder.
well played man
"Come on down and become Spear of Fionned." New tourism slogan for Ireland?
That Wheel research was painful... You talked about mining the Jade at the right time but didn't connect the dots.
To make matters worse, improving the jade would have boosted Craftsmanship
very nice
Nice
Golden age and 4 cities at turn 50 is good
i had an identical start vs indonesia soooo satisfying. the rest of the game just cruises. if you catch the first golden age you can easily get a religion 6 great prophet points per turn. easy game. that spear of fion and the free settler was just what you needed
13:37 jesus Shaka you have a weird way of making friends
You're gonna plant your encampments adjacent to the Giant's Causeway right?
This is a not awful idea.
Every time I played AGAINST Lautaro he started a sudden sneak up war on me. Every single time he pretended to be my friend and then back stabbed me. At least when Australia did that to me they aggressively expanded, but only attacked when I blocked them.
cant believe you let him get that jade
We need some northern native chiefs like tecumseh, crazyhorse, sitting bull, chief joseph, captain jack, geronimo
A reasonable use of the word "reasonable"
Could we have the full settings you used to make it brutal ?
encampment and indunstrial zone city beside spear op military city
What are the details for your super brutal setup? Fun idea!
Marichiweu !
J'adore ta voix tellement.
Merci beaucoup
As a Belgian I approve of conquering the Congo ;)
Flor was about to object, 'til I saw the winky!
1. We are ashamed 2. I was joking 3.Belgians didn't do it, it was our king who did it. the nation had nothing to do with it. 4. After leopold 2's death we got the territory and our new king actually was good to the congolese people.
Flor I know you were just joking and maybe I shouldn't have taken it so seriously. In my experience that part of history is so often downplayed or just forgotten that seeing a joke about it hit a nerve. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
We get teached about it at the age of 11, we at school honored every king except Leopold 2 because of this.
Flor I'm from the US and here it barely gets mentioned, if at all. I'm glad to hear it's remembered in Belgium.
Does anyone know what the map settings are? It may have come up somewhere else. So, I apologize for my ignorance in advance.
The way he says "agogé" hits the ear wrong.
What are the settings for a brutal game? 20 civs? What size map?
Nice war Potato o/
PS. Noob question: at about what turn do you catch up with the AI in tech? I always feel like I'm too far behind for too long to catch up and never end up playing through the game. Thx for any responses :D
Depends on the game. The Tech thing is actually pretty deceptive, the AI has a habit of filling up one side of the tech tree and neglecting another side, so while the AI is 1-2 eras ahead tech wise you're actually generally on par in terms of units usually.
I usually overtake the ai around the Rennaissance/Industrial/Modern Era in terms of science. Its really situational. Certain civs like Korea are harder to overtake etc.
It's virtually impossible to "catch up" on tech on higher difficulties. The AI starts with 4 free tech boosts and they get a +32% bonus to science generation. Unless you are actively taking cities, the AI's lead will only snowball.
So basically the only way to catch up is to have a MUCH larger empire, which requires a lot of conquering .
Would love to see you do a cultural game...cuz I seem to not do it right at all on higher difficulites.
Did I hear "the sky doesn't have it" lol?
Looking much better than Georgia!
are these different leader screens?
What mod do you have for the map?
Does anyone know whether the game has the option to skip music tracks? I really like most of them, buy some just annoy me after a few times.
No but you could go on RUclips look up the soundtrack and skip the songs you dont like and have the video on a loop.
how do you get the map that big?
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tatey
You should try Indonesia
What extra difficulties or mods make this "brutal"
Taylor Black
The map is overloaded with other civs
okay but why is Lautaro so damn fine tho
Why did he say +5 combat strength after he found the Causeway?
What is a golden age?
What is the seed?
I always play my Deity games in Epic speed. I don't think I could pull this kind of game off. I even tried to play Deity on Marathon, I'm telling you that was a bad idea.
Slow speed is good for big maps where you want to have a lot of time for war. The AI will always be better on highest difficulties, you definitely need to wage and win wars. Marathon can be very unforgiving in some situations. If you were neglecting your military and a large army shows up, you wont have the time to buy or make units. So its advantage works both ways.
How can Congo have Settler, and two warriors within the first two turns :o
Deity Difficulty, AI gets 3 settlers, 4 warriors, and like 2 scouts.
Okay! Didn't know that :) New to Civ!
PotatoMcWhiskey They get 3 settlers, 5 warriors and 2 builders. The settlers only spawn after settling a city so if you kill the second settler then they won't get a third free settler. After founding the first 2 cities they get a builder in the city. Aztec on deity is the worst because they are the only civilization that spawns with their unique unit. They get so much free production since Eagle Warriors are so much better than warriors.
idk, how did congo got 3 warriors and a settler in the first 5 turns?
On Deity the ai starts with a lot more units, builders and settlers!
Why is it that this game either looks beautiful or HIDEOUS
If you could make the episodes 1h long would be better.
this Civ Leader is hella cute 😍
who the fuck plays the game this fast - i feel like im watching an entirely different game!
Really illustrates why I don't play Deity ... the AI just cheats so badly.
the unique swordsman of kongo sucks... cost more porduciton and has less combat strength... "but it gets more combatstrength inn woods/jungle and no movement penalty from woods/jungle"
Mapuche, another useless civ....haha. But a good start!
how in the world did Mvemba get a settler out by turn 4? or is that AI cheating?
Find a natural wonder first turn and pass on a religion, that sucks.
borring diety war strategy :(
are you nuts? what was he supposed to do with Kongo and Aztecs 8 tiles from him and Zulu just behind the hill there.. they would eat him alive. he would be boxed in and they would tear him apart. him being at war with Kongo is why Aztecs got all friendly like. it was either this or defeat. sometimes war is necessary.
