A year later and this headset is still going strong. Personally love turtle beach and I'm upgrading all my accessories at the moment. There's a huge sale right now where I live in New Zealand where their headset has 50% off. Even tho it's not a brand new release headset still to this day for me in this price range it's a really good deal and I continue to hear good things about this head set. I have also got multiple consoles and getting a pc all so this is the one
I'd love for Turtle Beach to bring back the Elite 800 model. Give it the 60mm Eclipse drivers from the Recon 500 with the battery life of the new max 2 models.
The 60mm Eclipse drivers are indeed amazing but I’m not sure if you’ve heard their 50mm nano clears yet. Some other brands like Sennheiser have used 40mm drives with crazy audio performance. I would personally love it if they had a stream style headset with a dock like what the A50 does. Getting chat audio sent out from the dock to PC for streaming while also supporting the wireless connection to the headset would be sweet! I do remember owning the Elite 800 for quite a while and liking them a lot.

Good review. One issue with Turtle Beach, more in the UK/EU, lack of support or parts. They will email you of how can we help, that is about it. And a massive hassle to get anything replaced or fixes done by them! I have had top of the range Turtle Beach & lower range Turtle beach headsets as example Gen 2 700p Ear cups went in no time approx 3 months cannot get replacements same with all Turtle beach headsets, including the pro set from way back when they were like 300 bucks, wires always broke very easily and could never get replacements the same for ear cups or any other parts. The problem with this company again mostly it seems to me over years is the lack of after care or parts especially in the UK/EU. This is what started to push me away from Turtle Beach and go to Steel Series, as their after purchase customer support and replacements is excellent. Turtle Beach should learn from Steel Series and some other companies I could mention. Turtle Beach really need to improve massively in this after sales and customer service, again especially for the UK/EU market
People keep complaining that I don’t sound very good and they can hear every little thing in the background like my fan anyone know how to fix this? They said I sounded better on my much cheaper 50x.
I have the steelseries arctis pro wired but want to go wireless and want to change something different you know not get the same one wireless lol so would these be good for cod ? Competitive gsminf
Oh, one question: Just to make sure, maybe you talked about this but not sure if I got it right. So while using with Xbox can you mute party with wheel fast and easily like you can with 600 X Gen 2? This is sometimes really important while you teammates are dead and talking this and that especially after few beers can be huge problem :D When you are the only one alive and trying to listen enemy steps etc. I have Audeze Penrose X now and they are kinda awesome in many things, but I can't do this critical "mute everybody" move like I could with 600 X Gen 2 that cost like 1/3 of Audeze headset. That was huge disappointment and I kind of miss 600 X Gen 2 because of this among other things. (like sidetone adjustment, and how mute works, and how I always know mute state)
@@GadgetryTech Good to hear this, very impressive battery life these things have. But lack of metal reinforced band is a problem referring to my other comment. Maybe 700 Gen 2 MAX has proper build quality and more comfortable pads.
Is there any way to fix the clamp force so it’s not so hard on the sides of the head? I’m looking for a comfortable reliable headset for my elderly gamer Mom lol. She really wants a wireless set to chat with others in game while playing on her Xbox series x. The one she has now is an inexpensive wired set (lvl40) and they hurt her ears. I’ve been researching for about a month and really want to surprise her for Mother’s Day, but I’m at the end of my rope as it seams if it’s comfortable it’s not reliable, as in it doesn’t stay connected, and vice versa. Also trying to find one that is not too complicated for her to use. She is not an audiophile by any means so comfort, in game chat, and reliability are the most important things. Sorry for the long Comment and thanks for the informative videos. I just found ur channel and have watched several so far. Gonna subscribe now. 😊
@@heylady9108 I should have worn my glasses before replying. Yes they don’t work on Xbox. Maybe try the Arctis 7x or Corsair HS75XB. Both of them are very comfortable and sound great.
The 700 Max Review is coming soon! 600/700S have both always been exceptional for footsteps. Their tuning for FPS is great. The 700G2 is my most used wireless headset on Xbox and I keep every headset I review if that tells you something.
With the previous 600 gen 2 that paired directly to the Xbox, I would sometimes get crackling and interference. Since this new model uses a dongle, has the connection improved over the previous model??
I've never had that with my Gen 2's at all. Must have got lucky. I went ahead and preordered the Max in Cobalt Blue even after telling myself that i wouldn't upgrade. :D
@@garethg8226 I live in an apartment complex littered with WiFi and I believe that has alot to do with the connection interference because when I use them away from my apartment, in a normal residential area, or in a hotel when traveling, I don't experience connection issues
How do you like these compared to Penrose X? I know the connection can have issues, but I eliminated them at my house. I thought the two back headsets were the Penrose!
Penrose is better sound wise but it’s over double the price so that’s expected. These still sound great considering the price though and work very well out of the box.
Good review. Clamping force should trump all else tho, period. I returned the 700 Xbox headset because I legit got headaches after wearing them they clamped so hard. Shame to hear these clamp hard too
These have about 20% less clamp force than the 700s so. I’m not sure if it changes much but they are definitely less firm. Thank you for checking out the review!
That’s tough for any headset but roughly 40 feet. Depends on how many walls and what’s in between you and the transmitter. It also downs on where your transmitter is plugged in of course.
Great review! Very detailed! Do you think for PS5 these are better than the Arctic 7p +? I like the SteelSeries but sometimes With 3D audio enabled it can’t hit those lows well and it’s just does some weird crackling sound. I’ve tried many EQ settings but it’s just the way they sound, not punchy enough for those heavy explosions in 3D audio. Do these sound cleaner? Would they do 3D tempest as the SteelSeries or ate the 7p+ better a pinpointing footsteps?
If you're looking for more bass then yeah the 600 Gen 2 is tuned for bigger/deeper bass for sure. Every PS compatible headset supports Tempest so no issues there! I think both are excellent and pinpointing footsteps.
Thank you for this awesome review. I recently purchased the original TB 600 Gen II for playing GranTurismo, specifically the latest edition GT7. This is not my first Turtle Beach, I bought a TB Recon set 4 or 5 years ago and really like them. They're kinda obsolete so wanted more advanced head gear for the new GT game. I'm having feedback issues while playing the game and cannot as yet find how to adjust this headset or sound adjustments in the Sony gaming settings. I was hoping to find some ideas of what I can do with this set and this awesome review has offered me many ideas, routes I can pursue to get my new headset adjusted properly. Thanks so much, and YES, I sub'd and hit the LIKE.
When you say feedback issues, are you talking about the mic picking up game sounds? Or the mic picking up sound from your room/your voice? Thanks for the sub!

i just got back into gaming and here i am wondering if there is any headsets that are not crappy nowadays. Every models i've been looking i hear people complaining about them ffs.
That background noise was quick turn-off bro so I'm gonna pass 😂😂😂 also I found out the slider is all plastic which will certainly break within a year or so
1st thing I do is look for repair videos to see how to get to battery and specs. of battery if it needs to be replaced. Not a fan of wireless so much but if I did go wireless like the Corsair he reviewed recently with the awesome mic , could change my mind. I'm not buying anything I cannot replace the battery on. IMO there companies should sell replacement batteries , but they would be overpriced. And they want you to buy a new headset. If it has a standard 3-pin connector no problem , but just saw a video for cloud alpha wireless and you have to de-solder/re-solder 3 wires to the PCB , forget that !
Good review thanks! But have to disagree about build quality: I played with Stealth 600 X for 1.5 years and was actually very satisfied what I got for that price_UNTIL one day the band snapped near other cup without a warning for no reason. They became unusable and impossible to fix. Plastic just got tired after thousand of iterations putting it on and off over your head. Band should definitely have metal-Core, like even some of the cheapest Turtles have. But this does not have metal core and it's huge design flaw, DO NOT BUY Stealth 600 X or this. Good thing is that I got new ones while warranty was 2 years.
Honestly I haven’t heard of the band snapping before like that in general. Metal is always better but they reserve that for the 700 series only. Sorry I was sick all week so RUclips has been light for me.
@@GadgetryTech It's just Physics. Plastic can take pressure and force iterations until some point, after it will eventually snap. Btw. I had Sennheiser G4ME ONEs before Turtles. They had proper band, but the Mic required kind of significant force when putting mute on/off. It also snapped near the root for this same reason, but this took like 5 years and probably thousands and thousands of mute iterations before it happened. Also there metal root would've probably helped. 700 Series looks very interesting! Looking forward for you review, keep up the good work and hope you get well soon!

I just bought the PlayStation set from GameStop for a little over sixty bucks refurbished. They are awesome seeing ive never owned a decent gaming headset. So immersive woth game play. Hopefully they'll last a while.
Does anyone know a solution for the mic sensitivity on this headset?
Would u recommend these at $100 or a different headset for around that $100 price point
Why does nobody even consider trying to expand it in the reviews or images???!
Saw this same one for $40 dont know weather to get this or use my msi immersive gh50
Great vid. Thanks 👍
Does the Chatmix work on PC? how do you connect this headset on PC, via Xbox Mode or via USB Mode? what's the difference?
when my headset is on the charger it is bling blue twice over and over what does that mean?

@@raiderjames85 i thought it was supposed to be solid red
Awesome review! I subscribed and liked on principal alone. Just bought mine mainly for use on PC. Is it possible to use it in xbox mode on PC to keep using the chat volume wheel and not have it switch to variable mic monitoring? Any insight would be appreciated. 🙏
Awesome review. I just recently picked these up, the artic camo. Always loved turtle beach headsets. This is the first one I get since the Atlas aero few years back.
I have a question that you might be able to answer, Regarding the ear cushions, do you know if I use the stealth 700 gen 2 ear cushions on these or are the fitting a bit different?
Thanks in advance and great video!
Did you use these on PS5/PS4? If so which audio codec did you use or which one do they recommend (Linear PCM, Dolby, or DTS)?
Before I buy em can you please tell me what’s the difference on the new 600 max and 700 max? I’m trying to find out but it’s hard to compare em on the TB site. Thx
Only difference i personally noticed specwise is bluetooth connectivity on the 700 gen 2 Max. But i could be missing some thing else
Hi guy,
I watch your videos from France and I thank you for your work, your videos are superb!
I have a question to ask you, does the stealth 700 gen 2 max have much better audio quality than the stealth 600 gen 2?
thank you very much!
Thanks! It’s similar but the 700 has a slighter deeper and more powerful bass sound
Thank’s
I'll be picking these bad boys up today. Great to be able to swap between the Series X, PS5, and Switch.
How are they across all three platforms? I also have PS5, Series X, Switch and also PC and like how they are multiplatform
just bought one. hope it will fit well to my ROG EVA 02 case
Wait so if I use this with my PS5, I won’t be able to talk to others? Only when I use it on my series x?? Im an idiot for buying this lmao
How good is the mic on hearing outside noise besides your voice
Does this headset has noise cancellation?
I got that same joint in teal color. Red is hard wish I had that one
How this one be setup to cell phone ?
Can you use the turtle beach without the usb?
Just got a pair 😁
(like sidetone adjustment, and how mute works, and how I always know mute state)
Yes you can do that with the max. The second while switches to chat volume in Xbox mode.
@@GadgetryTech Good to hear this, very impressive battery life these things have. But lack of metal reinforced band is a problem referring to my other comment. Maybe 700 Gen 2 MAX has proper build quality and more comfortable pads.
Have you tried the RIG 800 PRO series? Just wondering how that one compares to the 600 Gen 2 Max?
The HyperX Cloud II Wireless have a really comfortable clamp force. I'd recommend to try them.
@@garethg8226 I’ve read that it is a very good headset but from what I understand the wireless version doesn’t support Xbox? Or am I wrong about this?
@@heylady9108 I should have worn my glasses before replying. Yes they don’t work on Xbox. Maybe try the Arctis 7x or Corsair HS75XB. Both of them are very comfortable and sound great.
How’s this compared to the elite pro 2??
Will the 600 Gen 2 USB version have the exact same sound and mic quality?
Speaking of battery life, not to get off topic but the new HyperX Alpha Wireless is claiming 300 hours (!). How is that even possible?
I’d guess a jumbo battery but we’ll see! I’ll try to buy one and take it apart
Can you review 700 max?
Also how good are 600/700 for footsteps in games like cod?
The 700 Max Review is coming soon!
600/700S have both always been exceptional for footsteps. Their tuning for FPS is great. The 700G2 is my most used wireless headset on Xbox and I keep every headset I review if that tells you something.
Can the ear cushions be replaced?
With the previous 600 gen 2 that paired directly to the Xbox, I would sometimes get crackling and interference. Since this new model uses a dongle, has the connection improved over the previous model??
That’s no longer an issue now! No more direct pairing problems and the connection is solid.
@@jamesjames7601 That's more than likely the cause yes. The dongle should eradicate that hopefully.
@@GadgetryTech When you get the 700 Gen 2 Max, please compare the claping vs the 600 Gen 2 Max and older 700. Thank you! :)
What kind of range does it have, like can i go to my mailbox and still hear?
That’s tough for any headset but roughly 40 feet. Depends on how many walls and what’s in between you and the transmitter. It also downs on where your transmitter is plugged in of course.
Possibly, if you get a long enough USB extention cable. lol.
Great review! Very detailed! Do you think for PS5 these are better than the Arctic 7p +? I like the SteelSeries but sometimes
With 3D audio enabled it can’t hit those lows well and it’s just does some weird crackling sound.
Great review! How does the sound compare to the regular 600 gen 2? Is the bass deeper?
It’s extremely similar. They use the same drivers, just a slightly different ear pad.
From what I understand the 700 max has a metal headband??
It does!! I got the 700 G2 Max today. Review is coming
@@GadgetryTech great I preordered that version because of that, hopefully it’s more durable. My other turtle beaches always cracked on the extenders
@@GadgetryTech I preordered the Cobalt Blue pair. There was a €20 discount code available for it too.
@@GadgetryTech Coming, like, today? :P
@@needsmoreclipping already got it! I just can’t talk about it until the 5th due to embargo. Soon!
anybody know how to connect it ????
without a doubt the best headset in gaming wireless insanely long batterly life and the best sound quality what more do you want?
For the price that value is amazing for sure!
I think I might get fusion pro 3 and this headset tbh
just coped these artic camo for Xmas to go with my series X. and yes it's great for warzone
@@GadgetryTech that’s the problem for mine but for Xbox do you know how to fix that problem of it picking up the sound of everything in a room
Hi! Was it loud enough on ps5?
I still have my old Turtle Beach PX22 and must say it still sounds better then my SS Arctis 7P+, thats the reason why I am here to look at this review for another Turtle Beach HS.. and I must say I am going to refund SS and buyng this one.. hope it will be a right choice.
Dude these or the recon 500?? Thanks!
Hard to beat wireless! Most people will like the sound tuning on the 600 Gen 2 more. The 600 Gen 2 mic is crazy sensitive though.
@@GadgetryTech ahh oke thanks bro!!!
Question to everyone does it sound like there’s only one headset that works?
i just got back into gaming and here i am wondering if there is any headsets that are not crappy nowadays. Every models i've been looking i hear people complaining about them ffs.
Thank you for this. My mind is made up
So I bought them and only one headphone works.
That background noise was quick turn-off bro so I'm gonna pass 😂😂😂 also I found out the slider is all plastic which will certainly break within a year or so
Got them off 69$ yesterday at Best Buy Black Friday sales !
the hyper x alpha wireless has 300+ hour battery life
Just picked these up for 80$
I bought it. The sound is impressive, but maybe that's because I haven't played games last 10 years.🤭
Hyper X Alpha just smiling in the back with 300 hours battery…
So I’ve heard haha! I’m looking into this one for sure. Crazy to see how far headsets have come.
If it has a standard 3-pin connector no problem , but just saw a video for cloud alpha wireless and you have to de-solder/re-solder 3 wires to the PCB , forget that !
ive charged mine 3 times in the past year im not joking
@GadgetryTech You have some opinion on this? What do you think?
Soooo.. I wont buy them cuz I cant fart, all the chat is going to hear me :(
Says. Right here you can use on playstation 😆
