Finally a wireless headset that works with all platforms, It seems like most companies make headsets that are either good for one console and pc or just one of them. I'll probably pick these up, I love the color.

I had a stealth 600 which has the plastic band for the length adjustment. After over a year of using them I went to put my headphones on and bent that plastic extension just a bit too much and it snapped right off. Safe to say, the metal bands on the 700 are much better and I can be sure I won’t snap them in half 😅
Yeah same here! It literally happened to me 2 days ago, just ordered these today because I like the sound from the 600s, figured I'd watch a video to see if the 700 was built better. Good to see the headband is metal
I got my pair Saturday and man these things blew me away immediately, from the looks of it, to the feel, to the weight, to the amazing immersive sound quality... 10/10 in my book and I've had plenty of different headsets over the years and none of them impressed me like these do
@@soulja617 my brother got the Steelseries artic 7x and it had mic monitoring and could not shut off and it was annoying to hear the slightest noise non stop and the mic picked up everything but sound wise it was pretty good. I had the hyper x cloud wireless and I loved it but I recently accidentally broke I and I'm looking forward to buy these
@@th3Phenomenon I got these for about 3 months and I can say they are amazing the only 2 main issues I have is that when I turn them on they make the power up sound but turn off again or sometimes when I power them up all game volume is very faint even though volume is all the way up you just have to turn off and on again then they will start working this happens almost everyday I need to power them up and off about 3 times but at the same time they need an update which i cant do because you need a computer but distance wise I've walked to my kitchen and they seem to cut out i always blame it on being around a bunch of other electronics but other places like my living room to my front door they are fine I say you can go around 15 to 20ft with out disconnecting. I've let my cousin use them and he's very competitive and he liked them as do I you can hear footsteps very clearly with or without super hearing. In all its very comfortable and overall a great headset.

After a few seconds of doing so, it was met with another turtle with the same level of curiosity. This looks like the headset for me. Only one problem. Maybe two. 1) I keep hearing about how bad the connectivity is with the headset losing connection to the dongle if you simply turn your head left or walk a few feet away from the console. This is obviously a deal breaker for ANY headset. and 2) These (or actually all) Turtle Beach headphones look and feel so cheaply made. I've heard people tell me after 6 months they'll accidentally break them just from normal use. And 3, did they discontinue the blue headset for xbox?? I can't find it anywhere!!
Hopefully you can answer pretty quickly as I’m about to buy these soon. But when you’re in a party with friends do they echo? I just bought some steel series 7x and they echo like crazy. So bad I’m buying a new headset not even a month later. Never had an issue with older steel series until these but just wanna make sure before i buy these ones that there’s no echo.
@2002aidan1 I too bought 7x arctics and there is a slight echo. When i would speak i could hear myself through my own headset. I thought it was my duos headset.

Mike the turtle was born and raised in West Philadelphia. On the playground is where he spent most of his days. Chillin out, maxin, relaxin all cool and shooting some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight and his momma got scared, she said “you’re moving with your auntie and uncle to Turtle Beach”. That blue looks awesome, thanks for this review as always very informative. Once i saw a little turtle that was rushing in the opposite direction of the sea, all he need it was a little 180 turn and he made it to the sea.
This headset has so many issues. Sometime last it struggles to connect to the transmitter. Sometimes it plays static. Other times the mic won’t work unless you turn it off and on again, but if you do that there is a chance you run into one of the other issues. If the headset didn’t have many devastating issues, this could’ve been one of the best headsets out there.

FROM SOMEONE THAT HAD THESE: If you want headset that PINPOINTS footsteps whether it be up in down ina staircase building or just left right behind front while ur running. This headset kinda falls behind in that aspect. But the sound of guns and environments seem to be its focus since all of that sounds AMAZING. But if ur a competitive gamer like me return these and get the new Arctis nova pro wireless. Those are purely for footsteps and are more comfortable
i actually just returned my nova pro wireless. they were uncomfortable and my ears began to hurt 10 minutes into using them. i cant deny the audio quality on those were great.
Assuming these are tuned exactly like the original 700 Gen 2's, I'd slightly disagree on the competitive aspect. Run that Vocal Boost setting and, in my opinion, the footsteps are super easy to pick out. Also I know the superhuman hearing thing isn't big for a lot of people, but with that slider you can mix it in just slightly and I think they really shine that way. I use the original gen 2 version all the time in Hunt Showdown where sound position is absolutely imperative and I think they're EXTREMELY well done for that. But it's all personal preference in the end! With that said I have these pre-ordered as an upgrade. I have multiple headsets for different systems, but I love the 700 Gen 2's so much I want the option to use them everywhere. I can't wait to get these.
true that will pull out much more highs, also super human hearing, but they both will remove any fun, or emersion from the headset. It will sound like a tin can

I use it sparingly (I think I have the slider set at 30%) if I'm hiding and know I'm being hunted to try and get an edge on the other player(s), at that point I'm just trying to survive and the immersion part is secondary. COMPLETELY personal preference and you're not wrong! 🙂
I just bought these and tried using them for my iPad because I play games on it but when I connected to Bluetooth, although I got the voice prompt, “connected” there’s absolutely no sound coming from my headphones other than the beeping when I max out the volume for the mic… What’s the deal? Are these headphones no longer compatible with mobile devices?

I remember I preordered this headset for my Xbox. I still use it, and I will give you my opinion. So, I never use it for my computer, phone, PS4, etc. When I turn my headset on, sometimes it pairs normally, sometimes it pairs but the volume will be much lower than normal, and sometimes it will say it paired but there’s no volume at all. Take that with a grain of salt though, because I use it on a USB hub with 2.0 speed. Whenever I used it on a usb directly to the Xbox, from what I remember, this didn’t happen. There’s something else I can’t remember if it happened without the usb hub (meaning before i switched it to the hub) but I don’t think it did. My headset often has very out of the way static. It’s not loud, it’s not in the way, it’s just there. Finally, the signal strength between the receiver and the headset is a bit weird. Sometimes, if I cover the right ear cup with my hand, the audio becomes very choppy. Sometimes, the same thing will happen with the left ear cup. Most of the time though, I can go into the other room without it disconnecting. As for everything else, the headset is perfect. I had bought this headset to replace my old Stealth 600 gen 1, and I love it. I find it to be better for comp games, but whatever. Also, the batt. life on this thing is amazing. I can go multiple days of gaming without recharging. 8/10, would buy again. Not the best headset possible, but it is amazing regardless.
Hey awesome review i had the previous version of these and absolutely loved them. The epic tail of turtle surviving the beach, story starts back in 1942 the tides were strong but the turtles were stronger, our brave heroes swam to shore to find find and the dreaded seagulls were already there... long story short there was less of us than there was of them.

I walked into my local Game Stop to look at some games and I saw them put this on the back wall behind the counter. If I had not seen your video I would of not even known that it was for all systems the green Xbox color scheme I would of never looked at it. Sounds great, only thing I needed to do was move Wifi a bit away from my ps5 to keep from the audio from cutting out. Bluetooth connection is great.

I have the original 700 gen 2 from ur recommendation. Actually those n my Corsair hs80 are from urs as well. Dude I recommend u all the time man. Dope content I like ur energy. I do like the original but I feel u on the footsteps part. It’s weird. I play a lot of destiny 2 n it’s much better with the Corsair headset when I’m in PvP. I will upgrade to these tho. I love the function n sound. Lol I use ur eq settings too. I like the blue tho. All my headsets are black so a blue one would be dope
Big fan Techne! Turtle Beach headset reminds me of my first time to turtle beach in Maui. Highly recommend it if you’ve never been, I got about 5 feet away swimming next to a giant turtle. Hope I catch you on the next one!
I know exactly what you mean with regards to hearing while playing competitive, I think the sounds are muffled and you haven’t a clue when the foot steps are coming from.
I have turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2. Is this newer version worth upgrading? Do the newer ones have the same clamp force has the original or are they better? Great review had always.
Same clamp force, but the only difference is if I twisted the stealth 700 gen 2, the swivel would break instantly. He manhandled the hell out of the Gen 2 max. Nothing broke. The Gen 2 max is much more durable and has longer battery. That's the only 2 differences from its previous version. Aside from it needing a dongle to work.
So what was missed in the review for those on PC, Windows volume control does not control this headset rendering the KB multimedia volume controls or if you bind volume to extra mouse buttons etc useless (widely complained about in forums). Now it does work if you use BlueTooth but then BT has all sorts of odd issues with apps like MS Teams with the mic. I have just given up on this headset and purchased another pair of HyperX Cloud Flights, they just freaken work on PC without these annoying issues, also more comfortable, slightly better sound imho and cheaper. This Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max is the worst purchase I have made of the last 5 years.
I have the standard Stealth 700 Gen 2s for my PS5. Love them! Great sound, crystal clear mic, super comfortable for long gaming sessions and excellent battery life. And for reference, when I was shopping for new headsets, I tried the Astro A50s & Steelseries Arctis Pros. Both sounded amazing, but both got hot on my ears and the mic quality was terrible. At least that is what my friends would tell me. Swapped to the 700 Gen 2s and all those issues were taken care of. And for half the price! So I can't complain with my purchase. I was super curious about these new ones, so thanks for the review!

Battery life is the thing that it's most important to buy this headset. Multi platform connectivity is a great feature as well. I'm personally little bit confused why there is no direct paring mode with Xbox console (like standart 700 gen 2) and using a dongle with the other devices. And going forward what is gonna happend when you lose the dongle? Is there an any option that you can buy it separately? Great review. 👍Thanks for that.
How are you losing the dongle though? It's kept in your console or pulled out and put in another console. Pretty odd thing to worry about unless you weren't using it but at that point why even buy it?
Could you still happily recommend this headset in 2023? I've been looking for a while and this seems to have every feature I want. However it's currently around £175 which takes it close to a lot of headsets in the £200 range that might potentially be better. Or if you could recommend one of your videos to watch that you believe would be appropriate I'd appreciate it :D

He found a nice spot on the beach, it wasn’t quite right, he moved to the grass further up the beach, still wasn’t quite right in his eyes. But then, he sees the perfect spot on top of a hill overlooking the beach. He makes his way up there, once he arrives, he finds the perfect spot and finally decides to settle here. If this had a wired version, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. My Turtle Beach X04 headset from 2015 just broke (ear cup's plastic swivel bit busted) and now I need a replacement, but I crave that fun turtle beach style sound I've grown so used to over the past decade. I refuse to buy wireless headsets (latency issues, charging burden, lack of longevity) and turtle beach's wired options right now are not very good. I'm forced to try other brands or just wait it out and hope my X03's from 2019 last me longer lol

In pursuit of a closed-back solution that wouldn't break the bank, I landed on the Audio Technica ATH-M50x. I had to buy a separate mic attachment and alternate ear cups. Around $200 total, but I really couldn't find any other cheaper solution that wouldn't just be more "making do".

As for Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 I think its best headset ever .. The discreet design is very sleek and its MAXIMUM GAME TIME - Incredible, 40+ hour battery lets you play for weeks with Bluetooth compatibility and Superhuman Hearing can easily be toggled on and off with a simple tap of the Mode button on the headset, meaning you can activate it as and when needed. like a premium product I hope I have it. You have to sacrifice immersion for a competitive sound. You can have both but at that point your only having okay imerrsive sound and just okay competitive hearing. But the great thing about superhuman hearing mode is at 75% or full 100% SHM, youll have all the competive hearing you need. Yes it wont be immersive but you have to sacrifice that for that edge. I remember having a pair of Turtle Beach 420x back in the day and using them for Ark or CoD and being able to pinpoint people with sound before i ever saw them. Couldnt do that as good on my Artics 7x but i still loved the immersive sound those had and how super comfortable that ski band design is. My 7xs broke after years of use so im finally going back to Turtle Beach with these bad boys!
@@virginiaradford5140 I actually lied to myself and didn't go back to Turtle Beach. Instead I bought a pair of Arctis Nova 7x and kinda regretted it. They are awesome, comfortable too. But compared to my Arctis 7x, they don't match up. The full ski band design was a lot more comfortable. Sound wise they were practically the same. The Bluetooth feature I got these for, I never even use. Though if I had to rebuy again I'd go with the Turtle Beach 700 gen 2 cause I'm curious. My brother just bought a pair so I'll go over to his place and try them out when they come in.
I always watch the full videos you post lol not for the giveaway but because you actually explain everything I need to know about the headset I got my 700 gen 2 because of you saying they have a fun punchy sound and not have those horrible harsh highs. I also never knew how awesome it is to be connected to your phone watching videos or listening to music and playing a video game and hearing both at the same time until I got the gen 2s. How are these compared to the gen 2s?
I’m on my way to by the stealth 600 gen 2 and these and see which ones I like the best . I had the stealth 600 gen 1 and they were amazing and I still am using them . They are super convenient and the sound is amazing .
I bought his headset because of this review but wish I hadn’t. The audio constantly crackles and cuts out and sometimes you just get no audio at all. It is extremely frustrating. Had them about 2 weeks now and gonna have to take them back. They are a great headset when they actually work but most gaming sessions I’m getting crackles and pops for about 40 seconds every 20 minutes or so and it’s just hella frustrating. Especially in games like COD or immersive RPGS.
One thing to bare in mind with this headset is that the volume control on it DOES NOT work with windows. The volume is simply on or off. You can go into the windows mixer and lower the volume for each individual program but you can't adjust the main windows volume with the headset at all.
Just got mine a couple of days ago. Took about a day or so to break in but these are amazing. I still have friends that despise Turtle Beach but they have improved dramatically in the last few years. Also the USB transmitter light changes to red when the mic is muted and back to green when on, nice touch. Haven't tuned the sound at all but might mess around with it this weekend. Overall gets loud and very clear. Keep up the awesome videos!
What do your friends hate about Turtle Beach? I kinda dont like the clunkiness of it but is is well built and has a great mic. Plus the controls on the app and on the headset are so simple compared to the competition.

This would be the perfect headset for my daughter who has her new gaming laptop coming and plays XBox and Switch games now. And she’s a turtle! J/K, she’s a Tuttle. But I do know a story about a turtle… There was once a daddy turtle who took his family to the beach. He was really excited to relax on the sand just for five minutes of rest. But when they got there he had to get his baby turtles’ toys out for them. Then he had to bring them down to play in the waves. Then he went with them to look at the beach grass because it was so tall. Then they all searched for seashells, had lunch, cleaned up, swam for a bit, made sandcastles, and had a great time. As they were getting ready to go, one of the baby turtles said “dad, you forgot to relax for five minutes! It’s the only thing you wanted to do!” And the daddy turtle smiled at his kids and said “yeah, I think I found some better things to do here though. Maybe some other time I’ll relax. When there aren’t so many great experiences I’d never want to miss.”

6:00 Thank you so much. You solved an issue I was having with pairing all devices at the same time. I thought I needed the dongle in order to use it on pc because it wasn't connecting via Bluetooth. I'm a streamer and I need the Xbox and PC audio working at the same time. Turns out I just needed to hold down the button until I heard "Bluetooth pairing" for pc. Now I just use the dongle for Xbox and Bluetooth for PC.
Hello I tried doing the same thing but when I have my Xbox and pc audio connected at the same time, when I join a discord call or a Xbox gamebar party the audio looses quality, it sounds like headphones from the early 90s
How does the sound quality and mic monitoring compare to the new 600 Gen 2 Max headset? Bluetooth functionality is cool but not everyone needs it, so the 600 Gen 2 Max looks like a great option as long as it performs similarly and its more affordable too!
Great video as usual. So I bought these and have been using them since release. However I noticed that for PC gaming the USB transmitter has connectivity issues. If you have the USB dongle plugged into your PC before powering it on, the dongle is not recognized and the headset will not connect. You have to unplug the dongle and plug it back in after the PC is powered on. @Techne do you have the same issue? I went through 2 headsets and both have the same problem. Kind of annoying for a brand new release that is supposed to be compatible for all platforms. Regardless, really like all your videos.
I’ve had them for about 3 months now. They’re absolutely amazing. Best headset I’ve had in terms of comfort, sound, and technical use. The Bluetooth while being connected to the console is top tier.
This headset is BY FAR the best one in the industry. And barely anyone reviews it. The Bluetooth mix allows me use PS5 and Discord from my phone at the same time. It’s very unique and nobody talks about it.

I've noticed my noggin is a bit on the larger side when it comes to these Turtle Beach headsets. I have found that after doing about 10 stretch out sessions, they're a much better fit. You sort of have to "break them in", huge difference. Hope this helps all my big dome brothers. 🙏
I had a lot of issues and figured out it was just the usb key thing so I order a brand new one for like 30 bucks and now it works perfect and haven’t had a single issue, so I hated it initially but now love it

Ladies and gents. Came from a Artic Pro, Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, and a Epos H6Pro. The Blackshark V2 Pro was 9/10. Same goes for Steelseries. EPOS with the dac. The sound of the headset i very low. I returned them after 2 weeks. This headset, REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE HEADSET. but i promise you all. Its fantastic. It has everything. It will blow you away.
Hey Techne which wireless headset would you recommend for competitive fps gaming? (Not the Penrose) I need something good but much more comfortable than the Penrose.
Weird thing I'm seeing. Not only does the headset volume knob NOT control the system volume slider, but the system volume also does not control headset volume. Sometimes you see the latter, headset knob might not control system volume. In that case, you can set the headset to max volume then control levels through your keyboard. I've never seen both though. So the ONLY way to change volume is to take your left hand off the keyboard and manually roll the knob. Super inconvenient while gaming. Weird decision on their end. Unless I'm missing something.
So I just got this headset and I can’t adjust the volume from the nobs on the side. It is so loud right now and will be impossible to play so I’m not the only one that is having that problem?
I've just brought these using them on my ps5 in USB mode and they are struggling to connect to the the receiver. The headphones will say connected but carry on the flash green on both the headset and receiver. Can you help?

Finally a wireless headset that works with all platforms, It seems like most companies make headsets that are either good for one console and pc or just one of them. I'll probably pick these up, I love the color.
What I like about this guy, is how spontaneous he is, he fully expresses himself and goes all out to give us the best description he can provide to us. Really good job, thanks for those funny and yet detailed videos.

I had a stealth 600 which has the plastic band for the length adjustment. After over a year of using them I went to put my headphones on and bent that plastic extension just a bit too much and it snapped right off. Safe to say, the metal bands on the 700 are much better and I can be sure I won’t snap them in half 😅
Yeah same here! It literally happened to me 2 days ago, just ordered these today because I like the sound from the 600s, figured I'd watch a video to see if the 700 was built better. Good to see the headband is metal

I got my pair Saturday and man these things blew me away immediately, from the looks of it, to the feel, to the weight, to the amazing immersive sound quality... 10/10 in my book and I've had plenty of different headsets over the years and none of them impressed me like these do
Have u used the steelseries arctis nova pro wired or wireless, do u still think these are better?
@@soulja617 my brother got the Steelseries artic 7x and it had mic monitoring and could not shut off and it was annoying to hear the slightest noise non stop and the mic picked up everything but sound wise it was pretty good. I had the hyper x cloud wireless and I loved it but I recently accidentally broke I and I'm looking forward to buy these
I had the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Xbox for a year and a half, upgraded to this! Double battery life and multiplatform compatibility was worth it!
How's the range? I saw some complaints on Amazon about how the sound would keep cutting out if you were more than 2 feet away.
@@th3Phenomenon I got these for about 3 months and I can say they are amazing the only 2 main issues I have is that when I turn them on they make the power up sound but turn off again or sometimes when I power them up all game volume is very faint even though volume is all the way up you just have to turn off and on again then they will start working this happens almost everyday I need to power them up and off about 3 times but at the same time they need an update which i cant do because you need a computer but distance wise I've walked to my kitchen and they seem to cut out i always blame it on being around a bunch of other electronics but other places like my living room to my front door they are fine I say you can go around 15 to 20ft with out disconnecting. I've let my cousin use them and he's very competitive and he liked them as do I you can hear footsteps very clearly with or without super hearing. In all its very comfortable and overall a great headset.

This looks like the headset for me. Only one problem. Maybe two. 1) I keep hearing about how bad the connectivity is with the headset losing connection to the dongle if you simply turn your head left or walk a few feet away from the console. This is obviously a deal breaker for ANY headset. and 2) These (or actually all) Turtle Beach headphones look and feel so cheaply made. I've heard people tell me after 6 months they'll accidentally break them just from normal use.
And 3, did they discontinue the blue headset for xbox?? I can't find it anywhere!!

Hopefully you can answer pretty quickly as I’m about to buy these soon. But when you’re in a party with friends do they echo? I just bought some steel series 7x and they echo like crazy. So bad I’m buying a new headset not even a month later. Never had an issue with older steel series until these but just wanna make sure before i buy these ones that there’s no echo.
@2002aidan1 I too bought 7x arctics and there is a slight echo. When i would speak i could hear myself through my own headset. I thought it was my duos headset.

Mike the turtle was born and raised in West Philadelphia. On the playground is where he spent most of his days. Chillin out, maxin, relaxin all cool and shooting some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight and his momma got scared, she said “you’re moving with your auntie and uncle to Turtle Beach”.

Once i saw a little turtle that was rushing in the opposite direction of the sea, all he need it was a little 180 turn and he made it to the sea.
This headset has so many issues. Sometime last it struggles to connect to the transmitter. Sometimes it plays static. Other times the mic won’t work unless you turn it off and on again, but if you do that there is a chance you run into one of the other issues. If the headset didn’t have many devastating issues, this could’ve been one of the best headsets out there.
One just randomly stopped working for me gad to get another. Now none of my setting from the app save and the wheels never work right. Hate it.

FROM SOMEONE THAT HAD THESE: If you want headset that PINPOINTS footsteps whether it be up in down ina staircase building or just left right behind front while ur running. This headset kinda falls behind in that aspect. But the sound of guns and environments seem to be its focus since all of that sounds AMAZING. But if ur a competitive gamer like me return these and get the new Arctis nova pro wireless. Those are purely for footsteps and are more comfortable
i actually just returned my nova pro wireless. they were uncomfortable and my ears began to hurt 10 minutes into using them. i cant deny the audio quality on those were great.
What’s other good headsets that have pinpoint footsteps that are not as expensive as the nova pros

Assuming these are tuned exactly like the original 700 Gen 2's, I'd slightly disagree on the competitive aspect. Run that Vocal Boost setting and, in my opinion, the footsteps are super easy to pick out. Also I know the superhuman hearing thing isn't big for a lot of people, but with that slider you can mix it in just slightly and I think they really shine that way. I use the original gen 2 version all the time in Hunt Showdown where sound position is absolutely imperative and I think they're EXTREMELY well done for that. But it's all personal preference in the end!
With that said I have these pre-ordered as an upgrade. I have multiple headsets for different systems, but I love the 700 Gen 2's so much I want the option to use them everywhere. I can't wait to get these.
true that will pull out much more highs, also super human hearing, but they both will remove any fun, or emersion from the headset. It will sound like a tin can

I use it sparingly (I think I have the slider set at 30%) if I'm hiding and know I'm being hunted to try and get an edge on the other player(s), at that point I'm just trying to survive and the immersion part is secondary. COMPLETELY personal preference and you're not wrong! 🙂
All you need is the Xbox wireless adapter to use it anywhere. I use my 700 gen 2 on pc. Have had them for years since moving from Xbox to PC.

I just bought these and tried using them for my iPad because I play games on it but when I connected to Bluetooth, although I got the voice prompt, “connected” there’s absolutely no sound coming from my headphones other than the beeping when I max out the volume for the mic… What’s the deal? Are these headphones no longer compatible with mobile devices?

How’s it? Is it comfortable for long hours?
I remember I preordered this headset for my Xbox. I still use it, and I will give you my opinion.
So, I never use it for my computer, phone, PS4, etc. When I turn my headset on, sometimes it pairs normally, sometimes it pairs but the volume will be much lower than normal, and sometimes it will say it paired but there’s no volume at all. Take that with a grain of salt though, because I use it on a USB hub with 2.0 speed. Whenever I used it on a usb directly to the Xbox, from what I remember, this didn’t happen. There’s something else I can’t remember if it happened without the usb hub (meaning before i switched it to the hub) but I don’t think it did. My headset often has very out of the way static. It’s not loud, it’s not in the way, it’s just there.
Finally, the signal strength between the receiver and the headset is a bit weird. Sometimes, if I cover the right ear cup with my hand, the audio becomes very choppy. Sometimes, the same thing will happen with the left ear cup. Most of the time though, I can go into the other room without it disconnecting.
As for everything else, the headset is perfect. I had bought this headset to replace my old Stealth 600 gen 1, and I love it. I find it to be better for comp games, but whatever. Also, the batt. life on this thing is amazing. I can go multiple days of gaming without recharging.
8/10, would buy again. Not the best headset possible, but it is amazing regardless.
Hey awesome review i had the previous version of these and absolutely loved them. The epic tail of turtle surviving the beach, story starts back in 1942 the tides were strong but the turtles were stronger, our brave heroes swam to shore to find find and the dreaded seagulls were already there... long story short there was less of us than there was of them.

Thank you again for your review. It made the decision easy. I have a PS5 and my gen 1 stealth 700 battery is dying. I walked into my local Game Stop to look at some games and I saw them put this on the back wall behind the counter. If I had not seen your video I would of not even known that it was for all systems the green Xbox color scheme I would of never looked at it. Sounds great, only thing I needed to do was move Wifi a bit away from my ps5 to keep from the audio from cutting out. Bluetooth connection is great.

I have the original 700 gen 2 from ur recommendation. Actually those n my Corsair hs80 are from urs as well. Dude I recommend u all the time man. Dope content I like ur energy. I do like the original but I feel u on the footsteps part. It’s weird. I play a lot of destiny 2 n it’s much better with the Corsair headset when I’m in PvP. I will upgrade to these tho. I love the function n sound. Lol I use ur eq settings too. I like the blue tho. All my headsets are black so a blue one would be dope

Big fan Techne! Turtle Beach headset reminds me of my first time to turtle beach in Maui. Highly recommend it if you’ve never been, I got about 5 feet away swimming next to a giant turtle. Hope I catch you on the next one!
I know exactly what you mean with regards to hearing while playing competitive, I think the sounds are muffled and you haven’t a clue when the foot steps are coming from.

I have turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2. Is this newer version worth upgrading? Do the newer ones have the same clamp force has the original or are they better? Great review had always.
Same clamp force, but the only difference is if I twisted the stealth 700 gen 2, the swivel would break instantly. He manhandled the hell out of the Gen 2 max. Nothing broke. The Gen 2 max is much more durable and has longer battery. That's the only 2 differences from its previous version. Aside from it needing a dongle to work.
So what was missed in the review for those on PC, Windows volume control does not control this headset rendering the KB multimedia volume controls or if you bind volume to extra mouse buttons etc useless (widely complained about in forums). Now it does work if you use BlueTooth but then BT has all sorts of odd issues with apps like MS Teams with the mic. I have just given up on this headset and purchased another pair of HyperX Cloud Flights, they just freaken work on PC without these annoying issues, also more comfortable, slightly better sound imho and cheaper. This Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max is the worst purchase I have made of the last 5 years.

I have the standard Stealth 700 Gen 2s for my PS5. Love them! Great sound, crystal clear mic, super comfortable for long gaming sessions and excellent battery life. And for reference, when I was shopping for new headsets, I tried the Astro A50s & Steelseries Arctis Pros. Both sounded amazing, but both got hot on my ears and the mic quality was terrible. At least that is what my friends would tell me. Swapped to the 700 Gen 2s and all those issues were taken care of. And for half the price! So I can't complain with my purchase. I was super curious about these new ones, so thanks for the review!

Battery life is the thing that it's most important to buy this headset. Multi platform connectivity is a great feature as well. I'm personally little bit confused why there is no direct paring mode with Xbox console (like standart 700 gen 2) and using a dongle with the other devices. And going forward what is gonna happend when you lose the dongle? Is there an any option that you can buy it separately?

Could you still happily recommend this headset in 2023? I've been looking for a while and this seems to have every feature I want. However it's currently around £175 which takes it close to a lot of headsets in the £200 range that might potentially be better. If this had a wired version, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. My Turtle Beach X04 headset from 2015 just broke (ear cup's plastic swivel bit busted) and now I need a replacement, but I crave that fun turtle beach style sound I've grown so used to over the past decade. I refuse to buy wireless headsets (latency issues, charging burden, lack of longevity) and turtle beach's wired options right now are not very good. I'm forced to try other brands or just wait it out and hope my X03's from 2019 last me longer lol

In pursuit of a closed-back solution that wouldn't break the bank, I landed on the Audio Technica ATH-M50x. I had to buy a separate mic attachment and alternate ear cups. Around $200 total, but I really couldn't find any other cheaper solution that wouldn't just be more "making do".

The discreet design is very sleek and its MAXIMUM GAME TIME - Incredible, 40+ hour battery lets you play for weeks with Bluetooth compatibility and Superhuman Hearing can easily be toggled on and off with a simple tap of the Mode button on the headset, meaning you can activate it as and when needed. like a premium product I hope I have it. You have to sacrifice immersion for a competitive sound. You can have both but at that point your only having okay imerrsive sound and just okay competitive hearing. But the great thing about superhuman hearing mode is at 75% or full 100% SHM, youll have all the competive hearing you need. Yes it wont be immersive but you have to sacrifice that for that edge. I remember having a pair of Turtle Beach 420x back in the day and using them for Ark or CoD and being able to pinpoint people with sound before i ever saw them. Couldnt do that as good on my Artics 7x but i still loved the immersive sound those had and how super comfortable that ski band design is. My 7xs broke after years of use so im finally going back to Turtle Beach with these bad boys!

@@virginiaradford5140 I actually lied to myself and didn't go back to Turtle Beach. Instead I bought a pair of Arctis Nova 7x and kinda regretted it. They are awesome, comfortable too. But compared to my Arctis 7x, they don't match up. The full ski band design was a lot more comfortable. Sound wise they were practically the same. The Bluetooth feature I got these for, I never even use. Though if I had to rebuy again I'd go with the Turtle Beach 700 gen 2 cause I'm curious. My brother just bought a pair so I'll go over to his place and try them out when they come in.

I always watch the full videos you post lol not for the giveaway but because you actually explain everything I need to know about the headset I got my 700 gen 2 because of you saying they have a fun punchy sound and not have those horrible harsh highs. I also never knew how awesome it is to be connected to your phone watching videos or listening to music and playing a video game and hearing both at the same time until I got the gen 2s.
How are these compared to the gen 2s?
I’m on my way to by the stealth 600 gen 2 and these and see which ones I like the best . I had the stealth 600 gen 1 and they were amazing and I still am using them .
They are super convenient and the sound is amazing .
I bought his headset because of this review but wish I hadn’t. The audio constantly crackles and cuts out and sometimes you just get no audio at all. It is extremely frustrating. Had them about 2 weeks now and gonna have to take them back. They are a great headset when they actually work but most gaming sessions I’m getting crackles and pops for about 40 seconds every 20 minutes or so and it’s just hella frustrating. Especially in games like COD or immersive RPGS.

Turtle Story, one time me my family and other friends went camping, and we saw a turtle on the beach.
Got mine yesterday...definitely love them.
One thing to bare in mind with this headset is that the volume control on it DOES NOT work with windows. The volume is simply on or off. You can go into the windows mixer and lower the volume for each individual program but you can't adjust the main windows volume with the headset at all.

Just got mine a couple of days ago. Took about a day or so to break in but these are amazing. I still have friends that despise Turtle Beach but they have improved dramatically in the last few years. Also the USB transmitter light changes to red when the mic is muted and back to green when on, nice touch. Haven't tuned the sound at all but might mess around with it this weekend. Overall gets loud and very clear. Keep up the awesome videos!
What do your friends hate about Turtle Beach? I kinda dont like the clunkiness of it but is is well built and has a great mic. Plus the controls on the app and on the headset are so simple compared to the competition.

This would be the perfect headset for my daughter who has her new gaming laptop coming and plays XBox and Switch games now. And she’s a turtle! J/K, she’s a Tuttle. But I do know a story about a turtle…
There was once a daddy turtle who took his family to the beach. He was really excited to relax on the sand just for five minutes of rest. But when they got there he had to get his baby turtles’ toys out for them. Then he had to bring them down to play in the waves. Then he went with them to look at the beach grass because it was so tall. Then they all searched for seashells, had lunch, cleaned up, swam for a bit, made sandcastles, and had a great time. As they were getting ready to go, one of the baby turtles said “dad, you forgot to relax for five minutes! It’s the only thing you wanted to do!” And the daddy turtle smiled at his kids and said “yeah, I think I found some better things to do here though. Maybe some other time I’ll relax. When there aren’t so many great experiences I’d never want to miss.”

6:00 Thank you so much. You solved an issue I was having with pairing all devices at the same time. I thought I needed the dongle in order to use it on pc because it wasn't connecting via Bluetooth. I'm a streamer and I need the Xbox and PC audio working at the same time. Turns out I just needed to hold down the button until I heard "Bluetooth pairing" for pc. Now I just use the dongle for Xbox and Bluetooth for PC.
Hello I tried doing the same thing but when I have my Xbox and pc audio connected at the same time, when I join a discord call or a Xbox gamebar party the audio looses quality, it sounds like headphones from the early 90s

How does the sound quality and mic monitoring compare to the new 600 Gen 2 Max headset? Bluetooth functionality is cool but not everyone needs it, so the 600 Gen 2 Max looks like a great option as long as it performs similarly and its more affordable too!
From what I've heard the sound is in the same. Just features like the ear pads and stuff and Bluetooth is different
Great video as usual. So I bought these and have been using them since release. However I noticed that for PC gaming the USB transmitter has connectivity issues. If you have the USB dongle plugged into your PC before powering it on, the dongle is not recognized and the headset will not connect. You have to unplug the dongle and plug it back in after the PC is powered on. @Techne do you have the same issue? I went through 2 headsets and both have the same problem. Kind of annoying for a brand new release that is supposed to be compatible for all platforms. Regardless, really like all your videos.

I’ve had them for about 3 months now. They’re absolutely amazing. Best headset I’ve had in terms of comfort, sound, and technical use. The Bluetooth while being connected to the console is top tier.
After having it for about 5 months it randomly stopped connecting to my series x..can someone please help out with this issue
This headset is BY FAR the best one in the industry. And barely anyone reviews it. The Bluetooth mix allows me use PS5 and Discord from my phone at the same time. It’s very unique and nobody talks about it.
I was going to go with the 600 max based on your last review but is the 700 max a better option or is the Bluetooth the only real advantage? Just want to make the best decision for my PS5 I just purchased and money is tight right now. Thanks Techne! Best reviews for all headsets

Definitely agree with Techne. Get the 700Max if the money isn't a big deal. The 600Max are still a good option though.
I've noticed my noggin is a bit on the larger side when it comes to these Turtle Beach headsets. I have found that after doing about 10 stretch out sessions, they're a much better fit. You sort of have to "break them in", huge difference. Hope this helps all my big dome brothers. 🙏
You say this is not an FPS competitive headphone set, what would you suggest to use for FPS?
I had a lot of issues and figured out it was just the usb key thing so I order a brand new one for like 30 bucks and now it works perfect and haven’t had a single issue, so I hated it initially but now love it
This is what I was looking for considering that I still work from home and need a headset with a good mic for conference calls and being able to connect it to multiple platforms is a bonus!!!

I really like these headphones as well. It is not all that clear that the settings just work as set on the phone but it does sound good.
A turtle woke up on the sand. Then boom. Lots of birds ready to eat. The turtles went back into their shells to use as armor. They all charge and all made it into the ocean

Ladies and gents. Came from a Artic Pro, Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, and a Epos H6Pro. The Blackshark V2 Pro was 9/10. Same goes for Steelseries. EPOS with the dac. The sound of the headset i very low. I returned them after 2 weeks.
This headset, REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE HEADSET. but i promise you all. Its fantastic. It has everything. It will blow you away.
So technically this is the same as stealth 700 Gen 2 but just with the added function of compatibility between all consoles?
And they have doubled the battery life from 20hrs to 40. Surprised Techne didn’t mention this!
Hey Techne which wireless headset would you recommend for competitive fps gaming? (Not the Penrose) I need something good but much more comfortable than the Penrose.
Weird thing I'm seeing. Not only does the headset volume knob NOT control the system volume slider, but the system volume also does not control headset volume.
Sometimes you see the latter, headset knob might not control system volume. In that case, you can set the headset to max volume then control levels through your keyboard. I've never seen both though.
So the ONLY way to change volume is to take your left hand off the keyboard and manually roll the knob. Super inconvenient while gaming.

So I just got this headset and I can’t adjust the volume from the nobs on the side. It is so loud right now and will be impossible to play so I’m not the only one that is having that problem?

I've just brought these using them on my ps5 in USB mode and they are struggling to connect to the the receiver. The headphones will say connected but carry on the flash green on both the headset and receiver. Can you help?
