Check these cool shoes out, Florsheim Yuma shell cordovan, we resized them and dyed it black. (Florsheim) #florsheim #resizingshoes #shoerepair #restoration
Agree. Only pair I ever had made were onboard HMS Blake 1978 by our onboard Chinese cobbler. 2nd best shoes I had before I joined the RN Submarine Service. Naval officer dress/ceremonial shoes (black Derby Gieves & Hawkes purchase from The Hard, Portsmouth, GB. And a pair of marching boots. I loved cherished and bullet my boots until they reflected my plukey face at 17yrs old !
Nice! I very much enjoyed seeing how those moc toe shoes are constructed. The sizing techniques you showed, made perfect sense to me. Good tip on using the stitch pattern from the original to the new mid-sole to keep the sizing consistent. I like that. Also liked that stitch you used for marrying the two halves of the heel together. Keeps it nice and smooth against the heel. Good stuff there, Steve. They turned out great.
Sometimes you see someone who does the job exactly how you hope it would be done. Steve is the man that can do that. Watched so much of his videos, still impressed by the way he takes care of all those shoes. Wish I lived closer to take my Red Wings to this man. Lucky I have Ger Wijsman 🙏🏽🔥
God I'd love to live above your shop I'd be in every day it looks so homely like when you sit out having a coffee I no you work very hard but you make it look so easy and you seem to enjoy your job 😊👋
Hi Steve, Great work on those slip-ons. Fascinating stuff watching you doing the stuff your customer wanted. As always, you made a great job on them. I eventually got myself a pair of Florsheim Imperial shoes. Great shoes. Keep up the good work Steve. That was a fine box of goodies you got there. Shine on Steve
I hoping if I get my comment in soon you'll get a chance to read it. Just wanted to say, love your show, you are a true craftsman. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Keep the vids coming! Russ
Love Those Hybrids Steve 😀😊😀That Hammer Handle Burnishing Technique Is The CatsMeow Your Way Does Look 1000 Times Better I Like Your Attention to Details 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Steve, I know you are busy as hell right now. But, your fans love to see your work, even without the usual banter and such. If you wanted to post a compilation video of the stuff you have lined up, I’m sure your fans would tune in en masse.
Wow! That’s like Christmas! That guy is so nice to send all the goodies to you. Really really nice. The shoes you “re-created” are beautiful. Yeah, they are a nice style. Seems like the toes would be comfortable. So sorry about your return trip. It almost seems that you could have driven home for all the time that it took to GET home. Anyways you are safely back home.
As a business owner, it is always better for you to have too much work than not enough. You definitely don't seem to ever have any downtime at your shop. RUclips has definitely helped you find clients. How much of an increase have you seen since starting your channel?
Great job as always on any shoes that come to you. I thought I was the only one that had an extreme bad experience from Air Canada. Back in 2018 I got stranded in Vancouver, B.C. for 2 days because Air Canada cancelled their flights on me. The first day being stranded Air Canada staff told me I was not qualified to get a hotel. WTH! Eventually after lots of phone call to Air Canada I was allowed to get a hotel room (5 hours wait). Then once I got to the hotel, front desk said Air Canada did not communicate with them about stranded passenger hotel rooms. Finally at almost 1AM I was given a room only to be waken up at 4AM by Air Canada again saying my flight is at 5:45AM so I should be at the airport by 4:30AM. Got to the airport only to discover my flight was canceled again. So I was stranded again at the airport the whole morning until I asked for another room. Sadly it was the same experience from the previous day. I finally bought another ticket from American Airlines to get me home. NEVER AGAIN AIR CANADA (!@F&ck You! Air Canada). Sorry for the rant Steve.
I have a pair that I need to send you so badly for a similar job. New insoles and widened slightly. Unfortunately the price of the job is out of reach for me lol. Poor college student life. You would love them though, 1968 or 69 Florsheim Imperial Alligator loafers :)
I fly a lot. If you email them (usually you can do it from their website) they will also give you 'bonus' miles. Last year I probably had 70k miles in bonus miles.
Great job, and the customer/client is always right, but black doesn't float my boat.👍 'We are done, another Christmas is over.' No more pressies for you! 🤣
I took receipt of two additional boots today - nearly got an alden lookalike, but in the UK, so went with another two sets of trickers stow. I should have enough until I die now.
I have a pair of my late father's Florsheim Imperial Shell Cordovan Derby shoes in color 8 that need to be rebuilt. They are probably around 60 years old. Now I that I know you can resize them I want to have you do them. Assuming you can downsize from 12B to 11 1/2 D.
After the holidays(because I will be sending those from Bulgaria :D, unfortunately there is no cobbler here I would trust, to do this kind of job), I will probably reach out to you for a similar job, I have boots that are size 10 and I need them to be 9/5 for a perfect fit.
When dying a different color, do you apply heat to "bake-in" to avoid "running" etc or do you find that brand of dye sets really well and fast enough so that it doesn't become an issue. I would have thought you would apply heat to "cure" it. I would LOVE for someone to mimmic the Yuma. Just a great all-around style.
What's the price difference between the price in outsole between these and the outsole on the ones in the "One of the most expensive restoration I've done on Floresheims"? The most expensive video outsole looked like wood or flooring. Rather the soles it started with and the ones it finished with were they the same just aged?
Sounds like my experience with the now defunct Eastern Airline, who messed my buddy and me around returning to the UK from JFK. After two overnights in New York and Shannon, we eventually landed in London about 36 hours late then, to add insult to injury, they managed to lose two important pieces of luggage. My worst flight experience ever, 1988.
Really really impressed with your work, I watch all your videos, I'm from India and I want to repair one of my shoe, can it be possible for shipping from India?
Hi Steve, I vaguely remember you buying some cordovan leather a while back with the intention of making your own shoes. Did you ever get round to making them??
Having shoes custom made to fit your feet must be the ultimate luxury.

It still blows my mind when I see the finished product. Always looks better than new.
What a great gift. He outdid himself.

Your own shoes look amazing and unique. Thanks for the work you do and sharing it with us.

Love your channel/work. Would loved a pr of slip-ons or tassle loafers but, I have a high instep stops that choice. Keep up the great work.
As always, I only expect the best from you Steve O . What a beautiful shoe .
Air Canada sucks. I flew with them once and will continually try my best never to use them again. Nice work as usual by the way.
I hoping if I get my comment in soon you'll get a chance to read it. Just wanted to say, love your show, you are a true craftsman. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Keep the vids coming! Russ
Thank you very much!
if i could have 1 pair of shoes for eternity it would be Yumas , rebuilt by you of course...........
Man, that shoe was in great condition for it's age... That, or they did a pretty good job on the original repairs.
Amazing dye job, you'd swear they have always been a black shoe. Great looking sole as well.
Such a beautiful job dyeing...almost impossible to dye shell.
Love Those Hybrids Steve 😀😊😀That Hammer Handle Burnishing Technique Is The CatsMeow Your Way Does Look 1000 Times Better I Like Your Attention to Details 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I wanted to give you daps at the airport but I noticed you were perturbed.
Watching this on Thanksgiving day. Thankful to have you and your RUclips channel.

Loved the story ;-)
I like those shoes. Thanks for sharing.. wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving
Shoes turned out sweet Steve , nice job 👍 I think I prefer the natural layered look on the side of soles, but a lovely pair of shoes non the less.
Wow Steve! They look fantastic! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Well I started the channel about 10 years ago, ever since COVID hit my mail in has tripled
Let's continue 👍💫

Nice job on the Yuma's. I'm jealous......now I have to try to find a pair to have you re-craft for me. 👍

wow i guess i was lucky
@@BedosLeatherworksLLC Air Canada does this because it's cheaper to let passengers get stranded than paying fines for short staffing a flight.
Great video, keep at it.
Very nice brother love your work , Appreciate you Chur
You did an AMAZING JOB ON those SHOES, always enjoy your videos, Happy Thanksgiving Steve.
You as well friend
Great job! Have a Fantastic Thanksgiving Day!
Beautiful Sir xxx

Not all shoes are a good candidate for this type of work

I got a new tv
And wow the shoes looks so much better
You're very welcome Steve! Yes thats a rolling edge paint applicator! No more using Q tips!🤣
🤣🤣
As soon as I can afford to send you my Florsheim imperial wingtips I'd like to have slip resistant wedge soles put on 😉👍
The air canada story is unf... believable! Sometimes I think they do it on purpose
Skip boring stitching to another hammer time?
Thank you Steave!

just let it air dry
I wonder if these were a pair bought used and sent for customization.
❤❤❤❤
Is coffee time coming back?
YES
Yaaay that's my favorite part!

Total different design shoe. One is goodyearwelted the other Blake stitched
Steve you need some trigger time 😤🤣😂

If Jesus Christ had shoes he wanted to have redone, he would send them to this man. That’s all you need to know.
another awesome project Steve. Love your work. How many man hours did you invest for this project?
About 4 hours
fantastic job!!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Steve, blake rapid? They look great
Yes exactly
😁👍
Nice. Did you treat it with acetone before the black dye?
Yes
Steve, can you go into a little bit of the history of the pictures on the wall at your shop?
Ok next video
Really really impressed with your work, I watch all your videos, I'm from India and I want to repair one of my shoe, can it be possible for shipping from India?
I’ve done it before
Hi Steve, I vaguely remember you buying some cordovan leather a while back with the intention of making your own shoes. Did you ever get round to making them??
I’ve made the uppers but haven’t lasted them yet
How do you know how much leather to cut to fit the size of your customer? Is there a chart you use for sizing? Amazing job and craftmanship.
No chart just some measurements of the foot
