- We take you on a trip to The Long Man of Wilmington, a place that is really sacred to us, which we love and visit frequently. It's a bit nippy and windy but it's a lovely day nonetheless. We also visit a fabulous Yew tree in the Wilmington churchyard.
Thank you both, and Oscar too, for sharing. We greatly enjoyed taking this journey with you.
Thank you so much for this lovely ramble around the Long Man! The Yew tree is absolutely stunning. Bright blessings to you both and Oscar of course! Debs
Thank you for sharing this Beautiful Places. Greetings from Arizona
Thank you Damh, Cerri and Oscar for the beautiful walk to The Long Man of Wilmington! What a magical place! Really stunning. And that Yew Tree! My goodness! How magnificent is that??? Truly a wonder of Nature. For a little while, I felt like I had gone back in time to the days of King Arthur!💕💕💕
Oh Damh and Cerri you made my heart sing and you've brought much joy to me today with this stunning video. My spirit also walked with you as you walked through the yew gateway in the church yard. Sending you both much love and blessings to you both and thank you for sharing this beautiful time xxx
So, can we assume that the Long Man is actually astronomical? The Sun moving from dull to bright might having given the ancient people a heads up to begin their planting. Love it. Beautiful day for your lovely walk about. I really appreciate you telling us about the research you have done on the Long Man. Great video!!
Thank you both so much, Damh and Cerri. This is a joy to watch and really enlightening about the Long Man's history. And the Yew Tree is so beautiful.
Oh, Cerri and Damh, and Oscar too. These videos are the best. Truly my soul finds joy in these travels and the wonder and honor you share with us of life here on earth and these sacred places. I know that comes across as a bit much, but it is honest. Thank you.
Often, entering or exiting these magical gateways, created by majestic trees, you need to bow your head or your whole body... For me it is always a moment of great respect and reverence and yeah, it feels so good! 💚
Loved hearing about your experiences at the Long Man. Another adventure added to our list. Sounds like a pretty special place. Guardian guiding the departed. And your ancient friend in the churchyard! Life needs poetry. And OMG, the Witchfest Christians, they certainly took us by surprise! Thank you for another enjoyable moment ✨
Cerri, Damh, and Oscar loving your walks ❤ look forward to your next one 😊 xx
Thankyou once again for sharing such a beautiful place to visit! And the knowledge too! We love to watch them all, we're there along side you both, how caring and kind of you to share so much with so many of us, thankyou, Nigel and Liz, Derbyshire.🌈💞❄️❄️🥶
I absolutely LOVED this video!! Thanks for sharing the landscape that you both honor with community.
Thank you both and Oscar for this video. So beautiful to watch and listening to you both. I enjoy watching these videos just before bedtime and picturing your journeys in my mind before sleep, amazing thank you ❤
I've just discovered this refreshing channel! I've been a lifelong Britophile, and only discovered recently my many ancestors from there. Thank you, Damh, Cerri (and, of course, Oscar) for making me feel as if I am there.
I am so enjoying these, thank you both and of course, not forgetting Oscar too x
Thanks and many blessings. Always enjoy your visits to special sights and looking forward to wherever you will take us next.
Thank you. Another lovely video, showing your easy chats with us as if we're in the same room having a cuppa or a pint
I wonder if the Long Man is a guardian of the Fae otherworld.
And Cerri, you’re in much better shape than I am
I love seeing your sacred places. I have wanted to be there with you for so long. I thank you both for your insights, history, and what it means to you.
Thanks for this lovely little journey. A magical syncronicity between the staves of the Long Man and the Gateway of the Yews. Many blessings for the three of you /|\
What a blessing you three are to the world. Your discussions are so charming and informative. Thank you for including us on this outing, and gateway🦮🌿
What a beautiful video, I loved the Yews in Wilmington Church. Really interesting information too. Thank you both. Bright blessings.
seeing that tree made unexplainable emotions well up in me for some reason....i thought i may have sat under it in another life!! i thank you for these videos of all these sacred places....they are just lovely!!! peace and blessings to you both!!
Looks like a lovely walk ,knackering but lovely
Thank you both. Fantastic video, have been to the long man a few times, an incredibly magical place, it's a beautiful landscape, there's so much to explore there and so much folklore, myth and history. And what a beautiful old yew tree as well. Absolute bliss for the soul and spirit. Blessings to both of you. /|\
Thank you for this film, and all you’re explaining, lovely people. Always a joy to watch your videos ❤
This was wonderful; thank you. I had a very deep moment just viewing the yew gateway. This came at a time when I definitely needed it.
Am lucky to live near this magical place. Love your little films! Am a Christian btw 😊🌿
Thanks for sharing another amazing trip. Beautiful scenery & great to see the Long Man close up. I also think that too much academic explanation takes away the magic & mystery, but as Cerri says as long as people don’t impose their beliefs on me live & let live. I love myth & folklore too. How I loved seeing that magnificent Yew Tree & the gateway between the 2 Yew Trees was truly inspiring.Blessings to you both. 💕✌️
I loved this! Thank you for taking me along. You guys are the best!!!❤❤❤
Thank you for a great video. I live near the Great Yew of Ormiston in East Lothian. Walking into her canopy is like walking into a cathedral, on occasion, when she gives me permission I hold my little ceremonies within her branches.
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you! Love the chat about the thinning of the veil. So true, I didn't realise at 5 when I liked to step through the sudden mists in the fields and greet the fae under a tree ,that I was responding to recent scholarship ;-)
Loved watching you both with the long man xx
Oh I loved this video, these always make me smile & I find some joy in my heart. I couldn't agree with you more. Standing there he reminds me of the 4 of Wands a gateway indeed. I'd love to be there with a metal detector lol the archeologist in me wants to know. I do believe he is much older than the Scholars say lol. Sending Oscar a hug 🫂 Thank you so much for sharing 💖
What a gloriously sunny day you had! Cold & frosty here today, golden leaves blessing the silvered earth. Lovely to visit the LongMan, Cerri shared so much knowledge, just fascinating. Those amazing Yew are something else! Loved every minute of your film. Thank you so very much. I feel a bit reborn too! Blessings & stay warm! /|\
❤❤❤ love it dave and cerrie.😊
Thank you both for an incredible journey to a special place. I look forward to wherever the journey may continue. Blessings to you both. /|\
Beautiful walks I love these, thank you for sharing ❤
Great walk! And Cerri, I loved your "rant" 😊
Looks absolutely glorious there!❤
Really enjoyed this, thank you. My family has had annual holidays to a cottage on the edge of Arlington Reservoir, where we have a very distant view of the Long Man on our morning walk around the lake. And always visit while we're there. Kingley Vale is one of my more frequent walks - amazing place and will look forward to your film visiting there. Loved walking through the yew gateway with you 🌳💚
So lovely to walk with you… right from the comfort of my couch hearth side of a blazing fire. Happy Solstice to you both, and bountiful blessings in the new year! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing. Such a magical place to be. I could listen to you both for hours such beautiful souls ✨🌳💚/|\
Great to see you there at Wilmington. I still often visit the Long Man and the yews from East Kent although the time of attending the rituals has passed simply because of I'm growing old and parking is an issue. Lovely to see. Xx
Cerri's got the Short Man of Wilmington on her head! 😂
Thank yew very much! It's long past time that I should get back there.... Jeremy.
Thanks for sharing, I know how Cerri feels bad knees and hills)0( 🙏
Cerri I absolutely love Yr videos..they are such a joy to watch..I live up in derbyshire and me and my daughter are wanting to visit the long man one day. Can you bring us here again in yhe summer time as I bet its lovely.. blessings and light from Chesterfield. .. GAV.
Thank you for this lovely message and it would be lovely to see you at the Long Man, and yes I think it would be nice to do a summer video of him too. many blessings :)
Thank you so much for this wonderful video, I got quite emotional ( in a good way) in places❤❤
Hope you both had your Wellies on!
Happy Solstice ☀️
Magic!
Thank you for the lovely video. How bout this to ponder. What if the long man is a woman? Like the world tarot card, a dancer in the doorway, the middle pillar. *)O(* Bright Blessings for Alban Arthan.
The thing is come Samhain the fairies are on holiday till the spring so they go around and have fun.
Did I ever tell you that when we first brought Erin (our American friend) to the ritual, we brought her to see the Yew and the church, after. And she walked into the graveyard and immediately recognised the location from a description in a fictional novel she had read. When she checked, it turned out she was right - this is the very place.
What is a "conscious transition?" I get upset when I see people walking on the mounds at Ohio's only and recent UNESCO site, despite signs saying not to walk on these sacred areas. I long to see a 1500 year old Yew, but, alas, none in the states. My horticultural training makes me feel stressed when I see the Wilmington Yew because they don't have the chains wrapped where they touch the tree, but I'm sure the old god has withstood more than this! Thank you both, you're amazing, (and Oscar, too).
Yes the chains and poles on the yew give me the willies too. Sadly the yew is right by the entrance and I expect they did it to stop her taking over the area. If allowed to follow a natural path it would have prevented folk from entering the churchyard. 'Conscious transition' for me is marking a change with a focused action, such as walking thorugh a symbolic gateway with focused intent on moving from one state of mind to engage another. :)
Thank you so much for this, it was wonderful to see as I can't physically get up that steep and slippy hill anymore. The Long Man really is my special place. I didn't know about the sun at Winter Solstice but I have seen a theory that Orion is visible above the Long Man then.
The sound quality was absolutely great, sadly my ears are not the same, would it be possible to have auto captions on future videos please?
I will have a look at how that works and see if I can make that happen. 💖
I see the subtitles have appeared! Thank you, that’s great!
Thank you for enlarging the font❤
See you there on Sunday
Love the reference to Spinal Tap! I found the placement of the sun to be quite fascinating. Indeed, during Winter Solstice it would be magnificent to see the LongMan as Cerri described! It would be lovely to be there at Samhain as well. The magnificent Yew tree took my breath for a moment or two; such a wonderful being to behold and yes so peaceful. Thank you for allowing me to travel to the places I long to visit. Many Blessings to you all and Oscar too!
