Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed this double phase Tsaritsa boss theme! As some of you may notice, the first phase is the exact same as my previous Tsaritsa boss theme. Initially, I was planning to do some changes to that track but after listening to it again, I’m already happy the way it sounds so I decided not to change anything to it. Now, the second phase was quite experimental. I went with an electronic direction with a mix of Trap and DnB drum pattern. I also minimise the use of orchestral elements, focusing more on synthesizers and piano. The reason behind these choices was to give a picture of inhumane powers. I personally do not know how powerful the Tsaritsa is and I am quite sure there isn’t much lore about her power capabilities at the moment. However, I always depict her as a powerful character. Phase 1 was intense and eventful, but phase 2 is where she unleashed her true powers to the traveller. Switching the music from an orchestral dominated track to electronic pictures the shift of power between the Traveller and Tsaritsa. We might have the upper hand on phase 1 but it’s not the same case in phase 2. We’ll be fighting one of the most intense battles as the Traveller. And that, was how I imagined this fight would be. I am sure many of you might have different theories/imaginations regarding Tsaritsa’s fight and I would love to read it if you are willing to share your thoughts! At the end of the day, these are fan-made themes so it might not be the most lore accurate, but regardless, I hope you enjoyed! That second phase, it gives the feeling of her desperately trying to win in tears because if she loses, she will feel as if everything she has done would be for nothing. It’s a cry of desperation, to win no matter the cost.
As a Russian, I really like the combination of all the instruments in the first phase. The second phase shocked me a little with its elegance, but it still sounds incredible! Thank you for the work you have done!

Brooooooo as a “Snezhnaya citizen” I can tell this is mesmerising. I LOVE the way you are showing her as someone who is willing to fight for what she loves. Her theme is not about attack, but about protection. How strongly this burning cold of her burning nature is felt. There, at the moment of 1:40, if I'm not mistaken, you can hear children singing something, and she protects them like a mother. You just amazingly convey the atmosphere of the character, so complex and fascinating. Not an incredible person, incredibly talented (because your hearing is amazing, don't deny it), and incredibly hardworking, because I can't imagine how much time you spent learning how to work with sounds like THAT, and even more so with music (and with the feelings of listeners). Please keep up the good work, we love you!!!
Honestly got Shadowlord vibes from this from Nier. Almost makes me feel like the inevitable fight will be emotionally charged if it ends up being anywhere near to this. Kudos dude this is really well done

With all its flaws and awful people so far like Crucabena, Dottore, Scaramouche, Signora. You have to wonder if the god of ice and love is someone truly willing to let awful people do awful things after all this time simply because just trying to be a good and kind person has netted nothing but more tragedy, and a true end to it all is to use a lot all at once to free people rather than make due with a never ending cycle of hurt and grief for some divine being and their unforeseen plan above the whims of simple mortal beings.

I hope you still get to read this between all of the other comments: The phase 2 for this theme really is something special imo. At first I was confused why it seems "more chill" than the first one but after listening to it a few times it just hit me. It feels like... an end? I cant really describe it but listening to this makes me think of fighting against the tsaritsa alone on a floating palace of ice while the rest of the world is literally falling apart around us. It feels like an end. It is a bit hard to explain but you did an amazing job
God damn an 8 minute theme, this is a lengthy one. When I heard this I was honestly quite surprised you have taken the more electronic route on her 2nd phase, but I personally don't mind it because edm music my favourite genre ehehe, also that drum pattern I absolutely love it. The entire theme is great as well, even tho I am not that much of a fan of the Tsaritsa, I still love this rendition of her theme. Once again, keep it up my dude!
The whole theming and sound of the second phase ended up inspiring a theory for me, with the idea that the Tsaritsa might actually be dead (or at least her vessel is). In this scenario, in the first phase of the theme you end up in a fight with who you think is the Tsaritsa wielding all the gnoses, possibly appearing as seele or the mysterious tenth harbinger, only when she is defeated, a curtain in the room falls away revealing her throne, showing the Tsaritsa's true vessel, forever frozen in an icy prison on her throne, (possibly from the same accident that killed seele if she is dead), and that her spirit was just posessing the previous person. The second phase of the music then begins, as her spirit manifests as a monstrous cryo apparition, and you simply need to survive the onslaught as her vessel dissolves away, being converted to cryo energy in her last ditch attempt to stop you. I dont think this will actually happen, but it was a cool idea nonetheless that came to me while listening to the second phase, and it all makes me wonder just how present and active the Tsaritsa is in the physical world of Teyvat.
this might actually be true, or something similiar to it. because it doesn't make sense that the tsaritsa is the god of love? and one of the voicelines mentions about her changing 500 years ago so maybe that's when she was replaced.

Love this. Reminds me somewhat of some of the tracks from Witch From Mercury, especially the latin count down(Aerial Rebuild), and the start of phase 2(Farewell to the Gundam).

Very cool (pun intended ❄️) second phase, Farabi-san! The mix sounds absolutely incredible, I love how the piano remains the main element but everything that surrounds it makes the track so huge. Really cool drums and synth work too!

For me, 1st phase gives feeling of fighting some overpowered version of Tsaritsa and fight can look like Signora's, while 2nd phase gives me feeling of something like a duel with Tsaritsa in completely empty hall or maybe some different dimension, like it was with Ei... Or maybe even in Khaenri'ah? Imagine, you have only traveler to use. Fair 1 vs 1 fight with Tsaritsa. What can be better?

O jeez the 2nd phase is truly something else, very unpleasant, dramatic, completely different compared to the others. Especially 5:02, this one are making me remember as much as similar music I have heard in my life. And the fact that this is fan-made is mind blowing.

The direction of phase 2 is more "less busy" than I thought, makes me think of an empty cold castle with only Tsaritsa and Traveler fighting each other. I really hope they use Ana Schariac as the main basis for Tsaritsa's character instead of Bronya, especially with your Phase 2 rendition, I can imagine it's fitting for a Hersccher of Ice (Ana) counterpart

The one i was awaiting the most, great work as always. Not only a banger but i love how you always manage to portray the character through music perfectly, just like in the game, for example when Yu-Peng Chen did Signora more justice than the writers. Also question - will you be sticking to making and remixing genshin themes only/mainly? Or look into some other games?

I love how Everyone agree that Tsaritsa will be a Bronya Ex-py, and I'm sure Hoyoverse won't do it just like they didn't make Furina a Seele ex-py. However, I can't even imagine Tsaritsa without Bronya's voice anymore. Even if Tsaritsa is vastly different from Bronya in looks and vibes, I wish they hire her JP voice actress. I'll be honest, I kinda don't like the direction of boss musics HyV all that much. I mean, I like the ideas they proposed like in the Narwhal and Arlecchino's themes, but not so much the execution. I think for example your take on Arlecchino's theme is better than her official one, despite theirs fitting her character quite a lot in Phase 1. I liked their idea to use Dubstep as a motif for Abyss stuff, but I wish they went more on route with Brutal Dubstep instead, something like XKore for example. Maybe there's a bias here too, because I like "Brutal" Dubstep, "Aggressive" Phonk, "Hard" Trance, etc... Don't come with soft stuff in boss battles to my ears, lol. IDK, for me, boss music must tell a story, but also fit the possible gameplay happening. For example, Scaramouche's theme is quite fast, but has these calmer, Japanese-like and opera parts, which fit the vibes when you are waiting for windows to attack him, and the Narwhal Theme being slow and ominous fit the fact it's quite a slow battle. Arlecchino's is the worst in that regard. she's quite an easy world boss, being more of a damage sponge than a challenging boss, so I can play in according to the vibes of the music than the battle, yet I can't set my pace around the music at all. There's a "ludomusical" dissonance between her moveset and the music playing, almost like playing Prog trance while fighting a slow boss or playing House while running a race. My favorite theme from you, the double-phase Capitano Boss Theme, is the best in this regard. It's the sort of theme I imagine exhausting my stamina all the time trying to dodge his one-hit kill attacks coming one after the other.
Ahh I really understand where you're coming from. Hoyo-Mix have released a lot of bangers in terms of boss music. However, some tracks aren't really my cup of tea. Listening to the music itself might be very enjoyable but probably not as much when you hear it in-game while fighting the boss. I am by no means an expert at making boss music and I definitely have a lot to learn still, but I have taken inspiration from mostly JRPG games. Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy, NieR etc. I personally think those games (and many more JRPG titles) really hits the spot. I can definitely feel the story and even in some bosses in Elden Ring (Radahn's music as an example), I can somewhat understand the back lore of the boss even if I haven't read any lore about them yet. It's truly amazing. Therefore, I took inspirations from those boss themes and tried my best to incorporate the idea into Genshin. Still far from amazing but I hope it's noticeable or at least enjoyable haha. That being said though, I still adore many boss musics in Genshin. Boreal's theme might be my all time favourite and I can't stress how good it is hahah. And thank you so much for the kind words about my Capitano boss theme. I am glad that you enjoyed that track!!

You have to wonder if the god of ice and love is someone truly willing to let awful people do awful things after all this time simply because just trying to be a good and kind person has netted nothing but more tragedy, and a true end to it all is to use a lot all at once to free people rather than make due with a never ending cycle of hurt and grief for some divine being and their unforeseen plan above the whims of simple mortal beings.
The direction you took for phase 2 was unexpected but the reasoning behind it and overall execution were quite nice.

I hope you still get to read this between all of the other comments: The phase 2 for this theme really is something special imo. At first I was confused why it seems "more chill" than the first one but after listening to it a few times it just hit me. It feels like... an end? I cant really describe it but listening to this makes me think of fighting against the tsaritsa alone on a floating palace of ice while the rest of the world is literally falling apart around us. It feels like an end. It is a bit hard to explain but you did an amazing job

When I heard this I was honestly quite surprised you have taken the more electronic route on her 2nd phase, but I personally don't mind it because edm music my favourite genre ehehe, also that drum pattern I absolutely love it.
The entire theme is great as well, even tho I am not that much of a fan of the Tsaritsa, I still love this rendition of her theme.

The whole theming and sound of the second phase ended up inspiring a theory for me, with the idea that the Tsaritsa might actually be dead (or at least her vessel is). In this scenario, in the first phase of the theme you end up in a fight with who you think is the Tsaritsa wielding all the gnoses, possibly appearing as seele or the mysterious tenth harbinger, only when she is defeated, a curtain in the room falls away revealing her throne, showing the Tsaritsa's true vessel, forever frozen in an icy prison on her throne, (possibly from the same accident that killed seele if she is dead), and that her spirit was just posessing the previous person. The second phase of the music then begins, as her spirit manifests as a monstrous cryo apparition, and you simply need to survive the onslaught as her vessel dissolves away, being converted to cryo energy in her last ditch attempt to stop you. I dont think this will actually happen, but it was a cool idea nonetheless that came to me while listening to the second phase, and it all makes me wonder just how present and active the Tsaritsa is in the physical world of Teyvat.
this might actually be true, or something similiar to it. because it doesn't make sense that the tsaritsa is the god of love? and one of the voicelines mentions about her changing 500 years ago so maybe that's when she was replaced.

Love this. Reminds me somewhat of some of the tracks from Witch From Mercury, especially the latin count down(Aerial Rebuild), and the start of phase 2(Farewell to the Gundam).

Had a look at what you sent. I can definately hear some WFM in there. Nice work. Not that many people know this but there's an OST that the anime left unused called 'The Way We Wanna Go'. You should listen to it in case you get any inspiration from it, decide to make a cover for it (you'll be the first), or perhaps, make something for Firefly and the Trailblazer from HSR.

Very cool (pun intended ❄️) second phase, Farabi-san! The mix sounds absolutely incredible, I love how the piano remains the main element but everything that surrounds it makes the track so huge. Really cool drums and synth work too!

I think there is way to less info about them to make a theme rn.
For me, 1st phase gives feeling of fighting some overpowered version of Tsaritsa and fight can look like Signora's, while 2nd phase gives me feeling of something like a duel with Tsaritsa in completely empty hall or maybe some different dimension, like it was with Ei... Or maybe even in Khaenri'ah?
Imagine, you have only traveler to use. Fair 1 vs 1 fight with Tsaritsa. What can be better?

O jeez the 2nd phase is truly something else, very unpleasant, dramatic, completely different compared to the others. Especially 5:02, this one are making me remember as much as similar music I have heard in my life. And the fact that this is fan-made is mind blowing.

Где сначала идёт оригинальная вторая фаза с нарастающим противостоянием между путешественником и Царицой , а лишь потом первая фаза с мощным оркестром ,чтобы ты знал что это бой ни с кем то , а с Архонтом и ставки тут очень высоки .примерно как я это вижу персонаж не выполняет условие босс файта и играет 1:38 где получает атаку скипетром царицы и обездвиженно медленно умирает

The direction of phase 2 is more "less busy" than I thought, makes me think of an empty cold castle with only Tsaritsa and Traveler fighting each other. I really hope they use Ana Schariac as the main basis for Tsaritsa's character instead of Bronya, especially with your Phase 2 rendition, I can imagine it's fitting for a Hersccher of Ice (Ana) counterpart

The one i was awaiting the most, great work as always. Not only a banger but i love how you always manage to portray the character through music perfectly, just like in the game, for example when Yu-Peng Chen did Signora more justice than the writers.

I love how Everyone agree that Tsaritsa will be a Bronya Ex-py, and I'm sure Hoyoverse won't do it just like they didn't make Furina a Seele ex-py.
However, I can't even imagine Tsaritsa without Bronya's voice anymore. Even if Tsaritsa is vastly different from Bronya in looks and vibes, I wish they hire her JP voice actress.
I'll be honest, I kinda don't like the direction of boss musics HyV all that much. I mean, I like the ideas they proposed like in the Narwhal and Arlecchino's themes, but not so much the execution. I think for example your take on Arlecchino's theme is better than her official one, despite theirs fitting her character quite a lot in Phase 1. I liked their idea to use Dubstep as a motif for Abyss stuff, but I wish they went more on route with Brutal Dubstep instead, something like XKore for example. Maybe there's a bias here too, because I like "Brutal" Dubstep, "Aggressive" Phonk, "Hard" Trance, etc... Don't come with soft stuff in boss battles to my ears, lol.
IDK, for me, boss music must tell a story, but also fit the possible gameplay happening. For example, Scaramouche's theme is quite fast, but has these calmer, Japanese-like and opera parts, which fit the vibes when you are waiting for windows to attack him, and the Narwhal Theme being slow and ominous fit the fact it's quite a slow battle. Arlecchino's is the worst in that regard. she's quite an easy world boss, being more of a damage sponge than a challenging boss, so I can play in according to the vibes of the music than the battle, yet I can't set my pace around the music at all. There's a "ludomusical" dissonance between her moveset and the music playing, almost like playing Prog trance while fighting a slow boss or playing House while running a race.
My favorite theme from you, the double-phase Capitano Boss Theme, is the best in this regard. It's the sort of theme I imagine exhausting my stamina all the time trying to dodge his one-hit kill attacks coming one after the other.
Ahh I really understand where you're coming from. Hoyo-Mix have released a lot of bangers in terms of boss music. However, some tracks aren't really my cup of tea. Listening to the music itself might be very enjoyable but probably not as much when you hear it in-game while fighting the boss.
I am by no means an expert at making boss music and I definitely have a lot to learn still, but I have taken inspiration from mostly JRPG games. Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy, NieR etc. I personally think those games (and many more JRPG titles) really hits the spot. I can definitely feel the story and even in some bosses in Elden Ring (Radahn's music as an example), I can somewhat understand the back lore of the boss even if I haven't read any lore about them yet. It's truly amazing. Therefore, I took inspirations from those boss themes and tried my best to incorporate the idea into Genshin. Still far from amazing but I hope it's noticeable or at least enjoyable haha.
That being said though, I still adore many boss musics in Genshin. Boreal's theme might be my all time favourite and I can't stress how good it is hahah.
