  • In this video the guitar maker from Malaga, Pablo Requena, explains in detail everything related to the choice of the different important woods to build a guitar and how to know the quality that is required in them so that the guitar has those superior quality woods so necessary and influential in the sound and final result of a classical or flamenco guitar. The top, sides and back, bridge or the woods used in the fan bracing.
What we have to look at to know that our guitar has a superior quality in terms of its woods.
    I hope you like it!

Great video. Very informative and clear. One day, if I can find the extra money, I’m going to enrol on Pablo’s course and try to up my guitar making game!

Pablo, I've watched a number of your videos and plan to buy your course soon. Thank you for promoting the guitar making culture and tradition.
Alberto, I watched many videos made by you with the guirar makers. And this one containing the intro like in a detective movie is special. Providing intrigue and evoking interest. And Pablo nails it as always. Thank you for tbis video.
Perhaps I'd ask about the most confusing for me issue. Where to look for the quality timber for the guitar and which reliable suppliers would you recommend in Europe.

Hello Alexander. thank you for your nice comment!. About suppliers Pablo talks in the video about three he likes. Rivolta in Italy, Madinter and Madema in Spain. Glad you like the music And especially because it was composed by me. Thanks!

Very informative. One thing I didn't quite get is the tapping of the wood. He says he stores the wood for several years to dry out, so, he is tapping wood that contains alot of moisture, would that not deaden the sound somewhat or is the moisture content already pretty low and the note wouldn't change much after drying?

I think for Pablo it doesn't matter if later will change the note. What he wants to perceive is that the timber emit some kind of resonance that he feels good about it since the very first time he tap the timber.

Pablo lived in England for around 20 years I remember. As far as I know his workshop is now only in Málaga.
