Sorry to hear about your loss Harry, its always heartbreaking when we lose our pets, I lost one last year, still not over it yet, but time does heal, Another great review as always! take care my friend.
The Art Gear Guide I lost my pet dog Marley last year. It still hurts but as a Star Wars fan I imagine he’s with the Jedi and they are taking care of him.
Our fur babies leave their fur and paw prints in our hearts. So sorry you are suffering the loss of such an important family member. Lots of love and healing wishes to you and yours.
I've purchase these Faber Castel GoldFaber, and what i found it's how easy is to put layersd and for Peoples who have some atrithis impairs is the best pencils to color with, they really are very soft as you've say and love the vivd colors but i would love if thye would have a bigger set, they performed very well! Thank You so much Harry for the great review!
I totally agree with everything you just mentioned and especially the larger sets, I hope Faber Castell have just put out small sets to see how they sell and that perhaps after a year or so of selling they will increase the sets to at the very least 60 but 120 would be awesome. Thank you so much for your comment and stopping by the channel
Ya! this is what i think too, but Fingers cross for a 120 colored pencils set, i just wan't to let you know i've send a message to Faber Castel company asking for a Full 120 set so as you've say samething for me they never reply to my message, but i wan't to believed it's only because they wan't to test if Artist and colorists would love these before doing the Full set! I don't know you but for myself i'm shure these would be a hit, because as lots of colorist and Artist use Prisma Premier for the soft, vibrant color laydown, they are Highly Pigmented so to me these GolFaber had everythings whe love has a Great colored Pencils! Thank You Harry, i'm touch you reply to me, it's very sweet and i really appreciated, love all of your Fantastic reviews!
i was sent the 48 set of goldfaber pencils from a close relative and i have not used them yet but they look nice, the tin is delightful, and the 48 set is stacked between a plastic holder with elastic handles so the same product packaged similar
I have had several fur children over the years, including a Samoyed named Sammi. It never gets easier. My heart goes out to you for so very many reasons.
So sorry for your loss. My husband and I have had quite a few dogs over the years and it is never easy to lose them, even when they are suffering. I like to think that when I go, they will be waiting for me. Good review. I was wondering about the "GoldFaber" designation.
Thanks for your video 👍 Just wanted to say that my set of 48 Goldfabers came with a leaflet in which the colour numbers are matched with their names. The numbering follows the Polychromos/ Dürer colours, but not all match. There is a 147 light blue which is not available with the Polychromos. As a kid, I used Goldfabers all the time, but they looked and behaved differently. From that time, I still have some left, there was a light blue 447, but that doesn't match the 147 either.
Thank you so much for the information that is really helpful. So you mentioned you had the Goldfaber when you were a kid, did Faber Castell stop them at some point and then bring them back out again? because Faber Castell are advertising them as a new product. Thank you so much for the help Heike and support.
They looked very different back then, and my leftovers are about 40 years old. So they are rather dried out and don't perform like the new ones. I have no idea wether they were "resurected" or they just used a well-known product name (at least well-known here in Germany) to make launching a new product easier. For me, the name certainly triggered a "must-have"-feeling. I have also no idea when they stopped producing the old line. Like most people, I stopped colouring when I grew up and only started that hobby again a year ago. Hope that helped a bit. Oh, and the 147 light blue is the only one not in the range of Polychromos
Ah I'm so sorry for your loss, Harry. Pets become part of the family and it's really sad when they leave us. Sending you and your family prayers and good vibes. 🙏💛 I'm looking forward to your new creations with these! 🙌
Esme you are such a wonderful person and I am so so fortunate to know you and call you my friend, thank you so much for your kind words and warm wishes.
Hello new to your channel. Appreciate all of your reviews. Michaels in the U.S. started carrying the sets and open stock. With the recent 50 percent coupon sale I got the 48 set for approx $30.00 :)
Hi I’ve just bought these pencils and have found them really good , I do have polychromos as well, and I think these will complement them I only do colouring so I think they are quite good for that
I own the Goldfiber including pencils and colored pencils and they work very well but the pigment falls short to others but there well made and I love working with them
Yeah I agree with you, if you compare the Goldfaber to say the Polychromos the pigment level is quite difference but so is the price. I think they are a really nice pencil I’d just love to see larger sets available.
@@TheArtGearGuide I've loved using the aqua Goldfaber pencils. It's great that they have the same colors as the artist lines, and open stock is a real plus.
Great review Harry! 😁 Can't wait to see the artwork you make with these. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are doing ok especially considering all going on for you my friend. 🤗
Valarie Connell /DrawingWithFire thank you so much Val, you are always there no matter what and I am so lucky and fortunate to call you my friend, thank you
Valarie Connell /DrawingWithFire thank you so much Val, you are always there no matter what and I am so lucky and fortunate to call you my friend, thank you
The Art Gear Guide Harry, I wish I could do more to help... distance suck! 🤗 If you need or want to talk you do know where I am. I can always work while we chat. 😉
I learned quite a lot from this review! I didn't know about the color lines that Faber Castell have (Red for kids us, blue for students and artists), that was knowledgeable, and even if I don't use black paper it's much appreciated! Condolences to your loss, personally lost a beloved pet too recently so I understand the pain
I am so sorry to hear about your fur baby. We never get over them. Im sure your other baby is grieving too. Sending hugs from my 3 fur babies to you and your family. Bless his lil heart
Thank you so much and Mya is getting even more spoilt than she normally was to try and help her, she is like a real princess lol, but we all miss him so much. Thank you so much for your kind words
I am so sorry for your loss. I just lost my cat that I gave to my mom and am heartbroken. He was an amazing cat but my parents needed one so I let them have him. Last year i lost my beloved Boxer who died in my arms and sobbed for hours. I wish they lived forever!
I am so, so sorry for the loss of your sweet Yakona. It is never easy to lose a fur baby. Thank you for another awesome review - these do seem like an awesome pencil - even if student grade.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss my heartfelt thoughts go out to you and your family as furbabies aren't just pets they're family to. I loved the review :)
So sorry to hear of your loss Harry. I know how hard it can be as I am housebound myself. Anyway thanks for a great review on the Goldfaber pencils - I am now at a dilemma about treating myself to yet another set of pencils. Take good care of yourself x
I can empathise with you, I had a westie and he was like my best friend always at my feet, it was so comforting in the night the way he rested his head on my feet I felt we were in it together
Margaret Brownhill my Mum and Dad had a wee Westie called Benji and everyone loved him he passed away a few years ago but he was almost 18, he was an old boy when he died which of course doesn’t make it easier. Thank you so much Margaret for your lovely comment.
hello Harry, i bought a set of 24 goldfaber faber castell and they are wonderful wow wow wow .... can you please tell me between goldfaber 48 and arteza 48 ... which ones would you take to have fun in a coloring book ?? ? ... I really wonder if it's worth buying the arteza color pencil ??? thank you .... and very sorry for your Dog !
I just bought a good lot 35 of of these at hobby lobby and the sales lady told me that theses were meant to be a direct rival for Prismacolors. After testing them out I find they are still not as creamy as Prismacolors but they are creamier and than the Polychromos. The Faber Castell websites does't tell if they are oil or wax but I strongly believe after using them that they are wax based. One other nice thing is they appear to be a bit tougher than Prismacolor as I have and next to zero breakage with these. They layer pretty good and actually play very nicely with Prismacolors, well imo anyways.
I found these at Hobby Lobby too but I ended up selling mine. But I'm kind of wanting to try the GoldFaber Aqua pencils. But there is hardly any information on them either
@@naturegirl2110 I actually gave them to the lady who bought my Irojiten sets. She has alot of the harder pencils and loves them so I gave them to her to try. And then in return she gave me all kinds of stuff. I couldn't believe it
These are craft and mid artist quality, and to me are much better than student grade. I don't know how true it is but the open stock signage claims excellent lightfastness on all colors. The watercolor pencil versions are great too.
Michael Keeter I absolutely agree with you mate, they are much better than student grade pencils and with regards to the lightfast info, I have seen this as well, but for some reason I just cannot get Faber Castell UK to answer any of my questions because clarification of excellent lightfast was one of my many questions. If I ever get Faber Castell to answer my questions I will definitely update my findings. I also have the Goldfaber Aqua pencils and will be adding a review of them soon but you are also right about them, I loved using them. Thanks a million mate for stopping by and commenting really appreciate your feed back.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. They become a part of you. I am just starting out with pencils and am on a limited budget so I always enjoy these reviews. I do have a small set of Prisacolors and a larger set of Arteza. I am looking for a good quality pencil. Thanks for doing this for us.
Cynthia Richter thank you so much Cynthia, you should take a look at the Koh-I-Noor, Lyra Polycolor and Marco Renoir Pencils. They are all budget price but excellent quality. I have reviews of all three here on my channel if you are interested.
I just want to know if when u draw something with a blue base for exemple ,the white pen will color the same over that blue or not...i mean i want to buy a set but i want to be sure about all i buy.(i am sorry for my writing errors but my English is not good...i am a romanian btw)
Sorry I was about to answer late last night but fell asleep. So if I understand the question correctly. If you place a layer of colored pencil on the page and then try to leave a line or dot with a white gel pen, will the white be affected by the pigment from the colored pencil underneath? The answer is that sometimes the white pen can pick up the pigment making the white look slightly blue, red or whatever the pigment is underneath. If you are going to use a white pen over colored pencil it is best to let the colored pencil layers settle, dry and harden for at least and hour or so before adding the white. So long as you use a light hand adding the white and not too heavy were the pigment is almost being burnished by the white pen you should be okay. I hope this answers your question.
So sorry about the loss of your furbaby. :( I love Goldfabers. They have amazingly smooth laydown and pigment. I think I might prefer them over Prismas. I really enjoy your reviews. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and thoughts. By the way, the numbers on these pencils are the color numbers and correspond with the numbers on Polychromos of the same colors.
Not sure if I should get prismacolor 36 or this one in 24? The price range is similar and I don’t need that many colours just some skin colours and a few purples and blues I’ll mostly be using.
As always a great review! ..very sorry to hear of your loss Harry. I know the feeling of losing your best buddy all to well. Our Big German Shepard was my side kick..one day he was walking behind me while I was mowing our lawn..and the next day we was not. No sign of anything wrong...and that was 9 yrs ago. But..we got 2 more German Shepard puppies ( brothers) who just turned 8. They aren’t our old boy Durango but they are Tom and Gunner. Hopefully the hole in your heart will fill up with a new side kick in it’s time. Take care Harry! 😎
Hello Harry, could you tell me, please, which pencils are more softer: Derwent Coloursoft or Goldfaber? Very important for me, as I can't make a choice. Many thanks in advance.
Hi Elena, sorry for the delay in replying to your question we have just returned from a family holiday. So if you are making a choice between the Coloursoft and the Faber Castel Goldfaber, let me try and help you out a bit. So to first of all answer your question, the Derwent Coloursoft are softer than the Goldfaber. The Goldfaber are gorgeous pencils and really nice to use, but another advantage the Coloursoft have is the set sizes. The Derwent Coloursoft largest set is 72 costing about £75 but, Derwent do have a 48 set but it is only in a wooden box so you do pay a wee bit more, the next tiny size set down is the 36 set.amzn.to/2w04nEr and the Goldfaber largest set is 48 costing about £38 amzn.to/2CgQvIo. I hope this has helped you out a bit, but if you have any more questions please by all means ask as many questions as you want and I will always do my best to help you out. Thank you so much for your wonderful support.
Good review, I am anxious to give them a try. Sending comforting energy to deal with your loss. I have had dogs all my life and understand your heartbreak at losing a family member.
I lost my 16-yr old furry baby in 2016. So sorry for your loss! With all the pencils you use, have you come across a good pencil/colored pencil cap to protect the sharpened tips and keep the lead/color from rubbing off on whatever is carrying it?
So sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is. I have had and lost many animals through the years but there are those certain ones that we just connect with. When they have to leave, there are no words. Sending well wishes to you, your family, and your other dog.
I just bought these and will only use for coloring books which I'm new to. Do you think a colorless blender pencil is needed with this set? If so, which would you recommend?
Hi yeah I have indeed, here is a link to my Derwent ProColour review bit.ly/2scCOBL and a link to a speed drawing I did with the Procolour bit.ly/2E31eHD I hope this helps you out a bit.
Superflighter yeah it would have been these you seen, I think they have been about for a few months now, again this was a question I would have asked Faber Castell if they replied to questions lol. Any way thank you so much for commenting and stopping by the channel
Hi there. The set I have reviewed in this video are not Watercolor pencils but there is a set that are Watercolor they are called Gold Faber Aqua. The tins are almost identical and the pencils look very similar as well only the Aqua pencils are a light Grey Barrel. I personally haven’t reviewed the Aqua pencils yet, but when I seen your message as soon as I woke up this morning, I have just ordered a set to review. I very much doubt you are the only person that has made this mistake so I want to make a video preventing such a mistake. As soon as your pencils arrive, before you open them check the tin, if it says Gold Faber Aqua then they are Watercolor. If not just return them and explain what has happened and ask for an exchange. I am sure wherever you have bought them from will understand especially if it is Amazon.
Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I only bought 4 individual pencils and have warmed up to them as regular colored pencils. I will look 👀 for the aqua ones! Thank you, again!!!!
Hi Harry, i have c’a grain paper (canson) and usually shows an excellent performance with polychromos, but this colors (Goldfaber) tends to be very opaque in the paper, could you tell me what type of paper is the best for them? PD: sorry for my English.
Hi Harry enjoyed the review love these colored pencils for what I seen thank you as always for sharing your videos I love them sorry to hear about your dog yes I know how you and your family feel I've have lost few in my time it hurts but my prayers go out to you'll again thank you I check with you on the pricing of US
So sorry for your loss. She was beautiful and I know a very good companion. I do like the pencils - I might be wrong on this, but I think the color number corresponds with the Polychromo numbers. I downloaded a chart when I first started collecting these pencils and they seem to match. I love names on pencils. They are $1.49 each at Hobby Lobby.
The Goldfaber are not a bad set for an Anime artist they have the vibrancy and richness of pigment, they blend well and lay down gorgeous. My only issue is there are only 48 pencils, which is a lot, but if you are seriously into drawing Anime and Manga characters, you may like a larger selection. I love to draw Anime and Manga characters, in fact they were the very first drawings I started doing. I do however think that Prismacolor are slightly better for Anime. The Color selection in Prismacolor line is more in keeping with Manga and Anime artists, they are brighter and if you are using the right paper, due to the super soft nature of the Prisma cores you can create beautiful gradients. For a 48 set its only £31 amzn.to/2TUNzX6 or if it is in your budget, a 72 set of Prisma is about £48 which I know is a lot of money, but 72 pencils is a lot of art supplies, I think it makes each pencil about 60 or 70 pence. I hope this has helped you and thank you so much for commenting and your support really appreciate it
Jennifer Thomas you certainly could be on to something there Jennifer because they work beautifully on adult colouring books. I have a relatively high quality adult colouring book I always use when testing pencils and these Goldfaber reacted beautifully on the paper.
So sorry to hear of the death of your beloved dog. This video is really informative!!!!Thanks for taking the time this week to create it for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a 12 count of these pencils because I was hearing they blend very well and are soft core and smooth. Im not new to colored pencils but these dont blend worth a flying f*ck for me.
What paper are you using, one thing I have learnt in the years I’ve been reviewing Colored pencils is that paper is everything. I done a review of the Bruynzeel Design Aquarelle I think it was, I can’t remember exactly the pencil now, but I started out drawing the art work and had to scrap it so I tried two different papers and the results were polar opposite and I showed this in the review.
I am so sorry, I know losing a pet is bad but losing your mother or father must be just terrible. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as it must still be so painful.
Dane Campbell hi Dane mate, it is very difficult to find a replacement Prismacolor type pencil. Prismacolor are quite unique in the way they lay down etc. With regards to softness, the Derwent Coloursoft are about the same, but that is were there comparison ends with those two pencils. I am not actually at home at the minute, I am at the Derwent Pencil Museum with my wife. I’ll check when I get home for the closest Prismacolor alternative. I need to have the pencils in my hand to test them.
The Art Gear Guide thanks a lot man! I tried the Derwent soft but I still didn't like them a lot I live in Europe and it's hard to find the prisma open stock. I tried looking for pencil I can get open stock .. But I am still thinking about getting the arteza expert they are not open stock but I just want to test the quality.
These are not remotely like Prisma. They are basically upgraded Crayola, with the downside of only a mere fraction of the colors available and a much higher price tag.... the upside being they are available open stock. They don't blend, they layer. You have to manually fade them out and do light layers multiple times to get a gradation and even then you will see the pencil strokes. They lay down softer and more pigmented than Crayola, but have the same basic function.. hard layering pencil, keeps a sharp point, rarely breaks. If you like that technique but Crayolas hurt your hands try these. If you want smooth blends avoid.
That is your opinion and on this channel you are more than welcome to voice it. When I conduct my reviews I test on different papers and I am sure you are more than aware the paper choice has so much to do with things like layering, blend-ability and creating gradients.
Lucia Scianname wow that is expensive, where did you get them from in Canada if you don’t mind me asking? Was it Amazon or an art store? I think export will have been the reason behind them being so expensive. $100 Canadian Dollars is about £56 for the 48 set, but in the U.K., the 48 set is about £35-37. Thank you so much for letting me know this and stopping by the channel.
Is I'm reading all these comments, I really feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like these that much. Maybe my expectations are way too high but my problem with these is that they don't layer well, they create these dark spots where the colors just don't blend at all and once you push a bit harder and make a few layers, it doesn't layer at all after a while. And they leave a lots of white spots if you don't press very hard, but again, once you press, you can't layer them. I mean, I've been using these for a year and they're okay to work with but now I ordered prismacolors and I really hope they'll be better for me than these are
Hi there, the thing is, and it has taken me testing over 142 different pencil brands and about 13 different paper brands and goodness knows how many different paper surfaces, to realise that each particular set of pencils works better on a particular paper surface. When I get a set of pencils to review, I have about six different paper types, cut into small squares just for cost reasons and I test the pencils on those different papers. Depending on the hardness or softness of the Pencil will determine how well the pencil performs. When I do my tests, the same pencil can look and feel completely different on all six papers. I used to hear other artists express the importance of paper and I didn’t understand it until I started reviewing pencils. It’s not to say that the paper you are currently using is not good paper, it just simply may not be the right paper for these Faber Castell Goldfaber Pencils.
The Art Gear Guide maybe you're right, I'm still experimenting with different papers since I'm young and not really experienced and I don't have that many options because where I live, it's really hard to get even student's quality products and it's hard to get some better quality papers and when you actually find some, you don't have many options to pick from... Also I'm poor since I'm just 16 yo student :D but I'm still trying to find some perfect paper for me, my needs and the mediums I use
Just Katsu I know exactly what you mean, it is a minefield when it comes to colored pencils and getting the right paper, especially as some of the artist grade papers are so expensive and nobody in this day and age can afford to buy loads of different papers just to test and try out on pencils, especially younger people such as yourself. What you might be able to do is, select a few paper companies that you like or would like to try. Contact them via email and tell them you are a young artist, looking to find the right paper for your work and ask them if they have any sample packs they could send out to you. Most companies have these packs which contains A5 size bits of paper from the various ranges they produce such as Bristol Smooth and Velum, some Watercolor paper Hot and Cold Press and some others. Paper companies for the most part will be happy to do this for you as they want your custom and they can get it via you testing their paper. I completely agree and empathise with you and many other young artists which is why I try to make my reviews as detailed as possible to try and help make those costly decisions. Thank you so much for watching and commenting on the channel and please , if you have any questions you would like my help with, contact me anytime at all and I will do my very best to help.
If u want to save time on the video cut other stuff out because it only takes 2 seconds to say how much a products costs. So i dont think its cutting thatuch time off the video. Its a really important piece of information people ahould know about, and some people might not know how to find or click the link or want to because they are in a hurry and in the store and they just need to see your review and price. U should start adding it in your videos. Like i said it takes 2 seconds to say an item is 49.99 or 10.000 6 seconds to say three prices from three countries.
ghost vapor it has nothing to do with how long it takes to say the prices, in my earlier videos I used to mention prices and now, on those earlier videos, I can’t tell you the amount of messages or emails a day I get from people telling me the prices have changed and that the product is no longer what I said it to be in the video. On the written reviews I can and do change the prices every week or sooner depending on what comes first. If someone doesn’t know how to click a link, that is clearly marked in the description, well I do t know what to tell you. If they were able to click links to find the video in the first place I am guessing that they are okay to click one more link. When I submit the review of a product, I do so in 4 formats. 1: A real time demonstration video review on RUclips, 2: A full detailed written review. 3: a speed drawing using the product on RUclips and finally 4: a page on my site with still images of the art work at various stages of completion. I don’t know of any other reviewer in the art community who performs 4 different formats of the one product, but the reason I do it is to try and please as many people as I can. Some people prefer to read, some watch demonstrations and some just want to see how the product performs. Outside of these 4 areas there really is not much more I can do. I am well aware of the fact that I will never please all of the people all of the time, nobody can or will ever accomplish that, so I can only do my best. Thank you so much for your feed back, much appreciated.

Thanks for your video 👍 Just wanted to say that my set of 48 Goldfabers came with a leaflet in which the colour numbers are matched with their names. As a kid, I used Goldfabers all the time, but they looked and behaved differently. From that time, I still have some left, there was a light blue 447, but that doesn't match the 147 either.

Our furr babies area a huge part of our Family..my heart & prayers go out to you and your Family..
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment
I learned quite a lot from this review! I didn't know about the color lines that Faber Castell have (Red for kids us, blue for students and artists), that was knowledgeable, and even if I don't use black paper it's much appreciated! Condolences to your loss, personally lost a beloved pet too recently so I understand the pain
Thank you Harry... as always ... love the review... and I am so sorry for your loss of your furbaby...
Thank you so much Kathy. You are so right, even though they are student grade they really are excellent pencils.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss my heartfelt thoughts go out to you and your family as furbabies aren't just pets they're family to. I loved the review :)
your so close to being certified, i just subscribed
Thank you so much Margaret for your lovely comment.
hello Harry,
i bought a set of 24 goldfaber faber castell and they are wonderful wow wow wow .... can you please tell me between goldfaber 48 and arteza 48 ... which ones would you take to have fun in a coloring book ?? ?
... I really wonder if it's worth buying the arteza color pencil ??? thank you .... and very sorry for your Dog !
Arteza is better!!
@@HillbillyTrash Why did you sell them? What didn't you like about them
@@naturegirl2110 I actually gave them to the lady who bought my Irojiten sets. She has alot of the harder pencils and loves them so I gave them to her to try. And then in return she gave me all kinds of stuff. I couldn't believe it
Agree they are tough pencils. They do not blend together at all. They are also much harder than prismas or derwents that I have
These are craft and mid artist quality, and to me are much better than student grade.
All the best for you Harry at this difficult time.
Cheers Steve mate thank you so much for your kind comment
Hi, here in Brazil, we have Faber Castell Super Soft. I think it's the same pencil with different brand name
Supersoft not even close to goldfaber. Also black edition pencils don't have lightfast like Goldfaber.
Really enjoyed the review. Great graphics for your logo.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and support.
That like is a yes ?
@@TheArtGearGuide yes thank you so much
So sorry about the loss of your furbaby.
Is it better than prisma? How about the core? Are these hard to break?
Are these easy to blend?
Not sure if I should get prismacolor 36 or this one in 24? The price range is similar and I don’t need that many colours just some skin colours and a few purples and blues I’ll mostly be using.
What type of art do you like doing with colored pencil if you don’t mind me asking and I might be able to help you out?
So in terms of lightfastness it is worth it ?
The Black, White and Light Flesh solos should be available for Goldfaber. Since it is the most consuming among all colors.
Sorry for your loss Harry, my sincere condoleance.
Sorry for your loss, Harry.
Is This the same as the Black edition.
Hi Harry, hope You had a nice holiday. Thank you so much for advice! I've made decision :)
Good review, I am anxious to give them a try. Sending comforting energy to deal with your loss. I have had dogs all my life and understand your heartbreak at losing a family member.
Are these good at layering also?
I have many pencil from Faber-Castell, it is a pity that this line does not sell in Brazil.
Thank you so much Sarah, I feel so humbled to have such wonderful people as yourself leave warm hearted comments and well wishes.
I just bought these and will only use for coloring books which I'm new to. Do you think a colorless blender pencil is needed with this set? If so, which would you recommend?
Have you tried the Derwent Procolour?
Hi yeah I have indeed, here is a link to my Derwent ProColour review bit.ly/2scCOBL and a link to a speed drawing I did with the Procolour bit.ly/2E31eHD I hope this helps you out a bit.
How new are these? I'm pretty sure I saw these pencils a few months ago, or at least saw something familiar.
Superflighter yeah it would have been these you seen, I think they have been about for a few months now, again this was a question I would have asked Faber Castell if they replied to questions lol. Any way thank you so much for commenting and stopping by the channel
I bought these thinking they were watercolor pencils. Can you confirm if they are or not?
I found it annoying getting these home to then find it doesn’t show the ratings. I didn’t realize in the store that they were student grade.
Hi Harry, i have c’a grain paper (canson) and usually shows an excellent performance with polychromos, but this colors (Goldfaber) tends to be very opaque in the paper, could you tell me what type of paper is the best for them?
PD: sorry for my English.
Hi Harry enjoyed the review love these colored pencils for what I seen thank you as always for sharing your videos I love them sorry to hear about your dog yes I know how you and your family feel I've have lost few in my time it hurts but my prayers go out to you'll again thank you I check with you on the pricing of US
I love the goldfaber aqua pencils
They're like the artist grade but not as easy to melt down but they still melt down easily
Is it worth it to buy for an anime artist
I hope this has helped you and thank you so much for commenting and your support really appreciate it
Hi! I just have a question: do those pencils break easily, while sharpening them for example? Thanks in advance for your reply.
The Goldfaber pencils have a glued core through out the whole pencil ( unlike prismacolor which contributes to how fragile they can be )
I wonder if these were made and marketed towards adult colorists possibly.
Jennifer Thomas you certainly could be on to something there Jennifer because they work beautifully on adult colouring books. I have a relatively high quality adult colouring book I always use when testing pencils and these Goldfaber reacted beautifully on the paper.
My old Yorkie passed this morning- it’s horrible
So sorry to hear of the death of your beloved dog.
This video is really informative!!!!Thanks for taking the time this week to create it for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are more than welcome Rebekah and thank you so very much for your kind comment, thank you.
Harry I can’t find anywhere on internet to buy these
I found some 😁
I bought a 12 count of these pencils because I was hearing they blend very well and are soft core and smooth.
@@TheArtGearGuide I used canson multimedia 70lb paper. And then I tried again on strathmore 70lb colored pencil paper.
what's a fock?
My condolences for your loss. I know the pain.
I'm so frustrated with this 36 color chart... just TWO browns?? Polychromos color chart in also 36 is SO superior and versatile. I'll go for them.
no shit, polychromos are professional grade, these are student grade. Obviously, the professional ones are superior and more versatile.
Polychromos are harder?
Yes. Black edition Supersoft and Goldfaber are the closest pencils to Prismacolor
I just lost my father in January, so I understand. Sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry, I know losing a pet is bad but losing your mother or father must be just terrible. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as it must still be so painful.
So sorry about your baby. I have been there so many times and it’s never easy.
I bought some of these pencils last week and was very disappointed I was expecting a bit of a Prisma quality from them no...
Interesting pencil. Very expensive - almost $100 cdn dollars for 48. More expensive than prisma colors - too bad
I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it is lie to lose a pet.
