The previous owner of my 2006 Tundra did the same thing as you - but he did it on the ABS and Airbag warning lights instead. I've had it for 7 years now, and just figured it out 2 weeks ago. Ha!
Thank you for showing this tip. I got rid of that annoying light in my 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis. I also have a2020 4 Runner and really enjoy your thoroughness and insight shown on your videos. Hoping for continued success for you..
Just bought an 05 tundra with this blinking light! I had thought about pulling the bulb but I guess it’s not an option. This makes more sense. Thank you king.
This is a simple solution for an unnecessary problem, I have same problem on my GX470 and this is easier to do than replace all five sensors. But if you don’t regularly check tire pressure, it’s better to have that light until you replace the sensors.
When he commented about not doing it for anybody else that is a good practice because I believe it is also illegal for a shop to disable any safety system in a vehicle for a customer such as seatbelts airbags or TPMS
Nice but please what I can do to "hack" tire pressure sensors when I have to go on State Technical Check which is compulsory in Europe and they conect to OBD to read all wrong codes frm ECU
Then you would get a steady lamp. I have this problem with an 05' 4runner. So weird. It blinks but if any of the working sensors gets low, it turns into a steady light.
Another incentive to follow this advice is to prevent any Black Labs from chewing up the interior of your vehicle. Further proof that annoying flashing lights could induce a psychotic episode in humans and canines.
I like what you did and it gave me an idea how about instead of putting tape behind the instrument panel how about getting an artist brush with some black paint and give it a couple of coats of paint to cover up cover it up from behind👍
I got all 5 TPMS sensors at Discount Tire for $120 installed, relearning them and no more light on I also purchased Michelin tires with them so he gave me a deal on the sensors
You must have a pretty honest mechanic that you go to. Because in my area most mechanics would be at about $120 just in the cost of 2 of the sensors. So then add on the other 2 or 3 sensors. Thennn you also tack on the mount and balance of all the wheels as well(15-20 dollar bills). Then if you're a female they find other bogus expensive repairs to give your vehicle
If U Add A Freerer Flowing Air Filter + Blend Ur Gas To Get 90 - 91Oct.Rating,It Might Over Ride the Vehicle Computer, Worked on My Former 01 Tundra V-6.
I removed the original spare and put another spare in the trunk and the the dash board light started flashing .I put the original back in and the light went out. It appears the tire systems are looking for 5 sensors of the same brand to work properly.
Just watched your video, and I subscribed, I have a 2007 Rav4 with almost the same issue, but mine flashes initially for so many seconds after startup and than stays on! Is there a bulb that can be removed?
Peter, why did you not replace the TPMS in all the tires? Is it that expensive to get them replaced? How much does a shop charge to replace the TPMS sensor?
When you sell that vehicle and the new owner takes it in to 'fix' theTPMS function the mechanics ill go positively nuts trying to R&R their way to a fix!
way too much work for no real fix or clearing. If you decide to buy new sensors in the future, you'd have to open up the cluster again. I'd rather just ignore my light. video is a bit lengthy.
That's fine until the next sensor goes bad. TPMS is stupid. Anybody who is too incompetent to check their own tire pressure has no business operating a motor vehicle.
@@dickgozinya9228 so, if your driving and the starts flashing because a few miles back, you ran something over and now your tire is going down, and the TPMS warns you before you do damage to your tire, that makes you stupid? Yes, I'm describing an actual event that happened in my wife's SC430. Look in the mirror to see stupid, Dick
There is 3 ways 1. Pay for new sensors every 2-3 years 2. Ignore/cover the light 3. There is a wire bypass by bridging two points with a series of resistors on the tpms box you can turn it off
@@Lunas2525. So if I just ignore and place like a round dark sticker over the area where it flashes I should be good to go right, it will be just like an older car that doesn't have the stupid sensors right 🤔🤔🤔 my 2008 corolla just a few days ago after I filled up the tires because they were very low but light came on an hour later but tire pressure was fine, I tried resetting it but no luck, I'm running out of options and as long as is not mandatory to have this stupid thing working covering it seems like the better option, doing the procedure of this video is time consuming and risky.
Peter is good at what he does. But I think I would just cover the light with some black electrical tape. My wife’s Tacoma needed a new sensor and it cost 85.00 dollars for a new one. But it’s her truck.
I put the tape under the cluster overlay card...on the actual casing....over the LED bulb on the warning light. No tape showing 😀( Same as you except on the bulb side )

Lol 😆🤣😂 before you remove anything know this from my experience with Camrys and now my 2008 corolla, I have learned that you can get a false check engine light and just recently 4 days ago the tire pressure light came on 30 minutes after inflating tires because they were a little low but light wasn't on so I put 33 psi of air about 3 psi higher than recommended, so after checking air pressure tires were fine but light was on so I watched several videos including one from this guy on a 2008 corolla just like mine on how to reset it and nothing worked light would blink for 90 seconds and then stay on solid so I decided I didn't want to purchased the sensors and just when I had a nice round piece of tape to place over the light, I get in my car and turned on the ignition but didn't start the car after a couple of seconds the light disappeared so I wonder if it would stay off after starting car and it did I'm a food delivery driver so I turned off and on the car several times and light never came on again, so I would suggest give it a week after you tried resetting it, don't start taking things apart and buying parts you don't need if it doesn't go away after a couple of weeks, put some tape like I was, ignore it or fix it, on the check engine light if you have obd2 scanner erase codes or disconnect negative battery cable if check engine light doesn't come back on after driving for one or 3 days check with obd 2 scanner to see if it completed all monitors and if everything is green you're good to go, there's various reasons that can cause a false positive check engine light to come on, too many to write down but I can give examples if anyone cares to know.

THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER VIDEOS showing how to jumper the TPMS Module - try that first!
Keep your wonderful smile coming! Very important to your videos.

You can ground out pink wire on the module located behind cluster in this video
8:41 see module on right. Ground out the pink and silver dot wire

I don't know Europe requirements...this is not showing in ECU , this Sequoia has no codes and is ready to SMOG in USA
Sometimes the sensor picks up the spare tire. Do check the pressure on the spare.
thanks for sharing

Now I know how to change the instrument panel cluster light bulbs in a 2005 Toyota Sequoia!
I like what you did and it gave me an idea how about instead of putting tape behind the instrument panel how about getting an artist brush with some black paint and give it a couple of coats of paint to cover up cover it up from behind👍
I replaced my sensors with regular valve stems. The light stays on all the time but that is less annoying than constant blinking.
Cover with tape. There fixed no more blinking. 🙈
No tmps system fuse in this vehicle???
How do you expect to pass safety inspection.
I did that exact same thing with my 2009 Tacoma a few years ago.
Did you put the tape on the bulb or on the back of the cover?

Have your dealership remove the Sequoia badge and affix it to LFA.
Great hack!
I have the same issue w/ 2008 Yaris. Tire shop wants $65 US per tire sensor 😆
Thanks!!!
I have the same exact vehicle. Thanks for the demo.
you are welcome
could you of just removed the pressure sensor from the spare? Just asking.
It will still blink. I recently had this issue. My spare had a low voltage TPMS so I got a programmer and a new sensor and fixed it.
Serious question, does a 60psi temp tire have a sensor in it?

And I'm deciding what to about it.
Take Care/Godspeed!
why would you not have just removed the sensor from the spare tire?
Thanks for sharing this video that’s intense.
He should just learn to ignore that light, that's what im doing in all of my Toyotas, lol.
11 years and the sucker still blinking
Love your personality
Peter, why did you not replace the TPMS in all the tires? Is it that expensive to get them replaced? How much does a shop charge to replace the TPMS sensor?
The shop wanna charge almost $500 to fix the TPMS lights I said no way and just put a sticker on it.
I recently found out Walmart does tpms sensors for 28 dollarse
I'd hope she doesn't work tirelessly. How can a car go with no tires?
Ba-dum, tiss.
On my old toyota echo it was easy to take the bulb out. Doesn't look the same as yours
Black tape over the plastic lens(glass) would have been 18 minutes and 4 seconds faster.
Thats correct. Until you go for inspection. His way is better. Especially if they only do a safety check.
Very entertaining video, good job. Easy bypass?
It is annoying when tire light comes up.I use my socks to cover it so I won't see it and it works.
In the U.K. if the light don’t come on , I think it mite be a mot failed , as I think the light must come on before you start the engine .
My tire pressure light stays on constant after blinking a few times
I heard you got disconnect the module

I was hoping to see a wire cut that turns on that light

Why? Wanna crash the car?
Dude, all that work for the TPMS? You can get a programmer, find out which one is bad by replacing it then reprogramming it.
That's fine until the next sensor goes bad. TPMS is stupid. Anybody who is too incompetent to check their own tire pressure has no business operating a motor vehicle.

Black tape !
Or you could pay an honest mechanic about $80 to replace the sensor (like I did) and be done with it.
Or you can go to Discount Tire and they will remove TPMS and put in a regular stem, balance and replace tire for $20. Jim
Don't u have to replace all 5 sensors? I have 1 with a bad battery.
@@tymom9313 No. At least not on my car. Only one sensor was bad, and that is all that needed to be replaced.
