Benedict Cumberbatch said he wanted to play Smaug more than anyone because he grew up on The Hobbit. But he was given even more by Peter Jackson when he asked Ben to also voice Sauron The Necromancer. Also Benedict made the absolute right call (and yes it was his idea not Peter Jackson’s) to play Smaug not just with his voice, but with performance capture. Correct, he realized that this ring wasn’t a normal magic ring, it had made him “as you said” kill something that had no desire to hurt him all because he feared it would be taken from him…
Kili and Fili are the nephews of Thorin. "Sister-sons"; meaning the sons of Thorin's sister. Gandalf chose a hobbit because hobbits have a special ability - they can go unseen by "big folk" if they choose to. In the book of the hobbit, tolkien expressly says that hobbits still exist but we cant see them because they choose not to be seen. That applies to all hobbits, which is partly why frodo, sam, pip and merry, are not seen by others in various situations. Basically, hobbits are very hard to see if they dont want to be seen. So Gandalf wanted a hobbit, but he chose Bilbo because Bilbo's mother was from the Took family (like Pippin) and the Took family were famous for their boldness, courage, size (among hobbits), and their sense of adventure. Gandalf had kept an eye on bilbo from the time bilbo was a small boy. And yes Aragorn is alive during this story. But he is up north of the shire fighting the orcs and the servants of the wizard king of angmar, who have destroyed his father's kingdom of Arnor - Isildur was never the king of Gondor; he was the king of Arnor, north of the Shire. Isildur's brother was the king of Gondor and when the last descendant of Isildur's brother disappeared in the morgul vale while fighting the witch king for minas ithil/morgul, the line of the king's of Gondor ended and Isildur's heirs became the heirs to the throne of Gondor. That's why everyone believes the line of kings of Gondor is broken - Aragorn remained hidden (even to himself, since he wasnt initially told who he was - that bit is straight out of the legend of King Arthur). Aragorn also fought for Gondor as a young man and fought alongside Theoden's grandfather in Rohan, each time under an alias and staying unknown. Aragorn knew who Frodo was because he had been secretly watching over the shire and defending its borders from the evil to the north - alongside Elrond's two sons and with Gandalf's help - for a very long time. Aragorn lives something like 350 years or so. There are lots of easter eggs in these movies: 1 the trolls frozen into stone - in the fellowship, after Frodo is stabbed you see them, where Arwen arrives. In the extended version, Sam points out "mr bilbo's trolls" to frodo. 2 Balin - Lord of Moria. In the tomb in the room in Moria, where frodo is stabbed by the cave troll (there are several others of Thorin's companions in that room but only Balin, son of Frundig, is named there). 3 Gimli, son of Gloin. Im pretty sure you see Gloin again at the council of Elrond, next to Gimli. 4 Bilbo names "sting" - the sword he hands on to Frodo in the fellowship. - and a few others that would be spoilers if I mention them now.
The White Gems of Lasgalen (of pure starlight) were crafted by the Dwarves of Erebor for the Elven-queen of Mirkwood (Thranduil's wife, Legolas' mother), but she died in Gundabad before she could wear them. Thranduil later tried to reclaim the gems, but a dispute over payment led the Dwarves to refuse, breaking their alliance with him. Thus, the gems have significant personal and cultural importance to Thranduil. By the way, he was portrayed by Lee Pace who does a phenomenal job (as always). Another movie of his that I would highly recommend is The Fall (2006) which is pure feast for the eyes. Lee's performance in The Fall made Peter Jackson consider him in the role of King Thranduil.
@mattr1100 it's their job to talk about what they're watching. This isn't a rebroadcast of the movie with people making faces on a green screen. They discuss what's happening, how hey feel about it, what they like and don't understand. This has been the case for all of their reactions. If that's not what you want then you don't have to watch.
Weird to think that Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and like 30 other real life people have hoarded more wealth than Smaug, a metaphorical representation of avarice and evil. Weird and sad
It's not a perfect movie but it's certainly my favourite movie in the entire The Hobbit trilogy. I actually put it in my honourable mention as one of the best movies of 2013. Ed Sheeran's song in the end credits was pretty sweet, wish it was nominated for Best Original Score so Ed could've performed it at the Oscars
the stone graves at 36:58 .. Gandalf said "these are nine stone graves.. They were great men..The nine.. How couldn't you remember them?... Nazgul's ... Servant nine of Sauron.. The Necromancer is of course Sauron..
Are elves are immortal. Aragon is a Numenorion so his people can live into their hundreds. That said, Aragon does have Elvish in his bloodline. It’s only humans who have “the gift of death“
at 21:43 Bilbo realize that he was unnaturally so savage while he kills that baby spider.. Normally he could terrified from it..But the fear of losing the ring made him so savage and brave.. He just realized that ring effected to himself and he shocked for this info... That's what you saw at 21:43
The elves in this story live for thousands of years, for instance Galadriel is a little over 8,000 years old. Galadriel is also the most powerful elf in middle earth at this point. And Aragorn is a race of men named dúnadan that live way longer than normal humans. The Dúunadan usually live for a few hundred years in the extended versions Aragorn tells Eowyn that he is 87 years old at the time of the 2 towers.
"One of a number. One of nine" Right over their head. "The Nine only answer to one master." Tara - "Necromancer?" Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight over their heads. These people do not have a clue what "The Nine" are. But they want the names of the dwarves. Which they've already been given.
Honestly, my favorite part of this movie was Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug. How am I supposed to take that character seriously when he moves and talks like that? 😅
Elves are (immortal). They can live forever... but they can be killed. Also, Strider was already 87 years old in Lord of the Rings. His ancestors were Dúnedain, who lived three times as long as average humans.
54:20 Fili and Kili are brothers. Cousins to Thorin. Balin and Dwalin are also brothers. Oin and Gloin are brothers. Nori and Dori are brothers and their cousin is Ori. Bofur and Bombur are brothers and their cousin is Bifur.
Aragorn is a descendant from Numenor. They were granted longer life spans as a reward for helping the Valar during the war of wrath. They could live to be 400. They're also descendants of elves (Elrond's brother), but this is unrelated to their long lifespans. I just thought it would be fun to point out that Aragorn and Arwen are technically distant cousins.
I love you ladies so much! ❤ They did explain who Fili & Kili are, you guys were just talking when they did. Hahaha 😅 They've said how they are Thorin's nephews, they are his sister's twin sons. He didn't call them his kids...he called them his kin. 😂 Loving this journey with the two of you! ❤😊
If you go by J.R.R. Tolkien's work, Aragorn is 10 years old and living in Imladris (Rivendell) with his mother at the time of this part of the story. According to Peter Jackson's rendition of Tolkien's work Aragorn is 27. Legolas would be 2,854 at this time in the story according to J.R.R. Tolkien. Peter Jackson omitted 17 years from Tolkien's original story in Lord of the Rings, which explains the discrepancy. Elves can be killed, or die from injuries, but otherwise elves are immune to disease and immortal. Galadriel is the oldest elf in Peter Jackson's movies. At the time of the Hobbit story Galadriel was 7,707 years old.
Dragons have genius level intelligence, live for a very, very long time and throw spells like a Magic-user aka Wizard. Alignments vary with their color.
It was such a smart idea to hide Smaug’s look from all promos and posters of this movie until after release. I remember seeing it in IMAX and the truly AWESOME and terrifying it was when he fully revealed himself. And because it was shot with the same 3D cameras James Cameron used for Avatar, seeing it in IMAX 3D was truly mind blowing.
29:57 There were many magic rings in the world but only the rings of power had the levels of strength they had. Gandalf initially believed Bilbo had a magical ring but not the one ring since Bilbo never shared what it could do other than be invisible.
at 1:01:07 The dworf want Bard to bring King's foil herb.. You remembered that herb? When Frodo stabbed by a Nazgul, Aragorn want Sam to find King's foil.. Same plant... :D Also I loved that joke that you missed at 1:01:09 "Dont move Kili"... Hahah bro, he is kind of paralyzed.. He already cant move :D At least he cant walk.. Where will he go :D
Unfortunately the stubborness of dwarves is very real in Middle earth. Stubborness is an annoying trait to have but when you think Gimli was also stubborn, you still love the dwarves as characters 😅 its part of who they are ❤
Aragorn was 87 by the Two Towers movie, he lived to be 210 ish (if memory serves). During the Hobbit, he would've been a young 27 year old. He comes from the line of Numenorians, an ancient race of humans who fought with the elves in the first age against the first evil, Morgoth (Saurons boss), and as a gift they were given a big island in the ocean as well as the gift of extended lifespans.
As someone who grew up around them. The few that are cuddly are rare. More than once a caw has just decided to try and kill me. Specially if they have a calf. Edit: There was one bull who's mother was sick when he was just a little calf. He was raised and fed by hand because others would reject him. Problem was when he grew up. He thought he could play like normal. Ended up destroying equipment and even once tossed a bale of hay over the fence injuring my cousin. You couldn't be alone with him because he would kill you while trying to play.
@@martinsparks6231 We've had city people think the could get in and pet or take photos with horses or cattle not friendly to them. Another hit a deer and thought they could comfort it. Got put in a hospital. Hooves are deadly
At 54:40 he said "KIN" not "KID" KIN: A person's relatives. Kinsman or kinswoman. A group of persons tracing or claiming descent from a common ancestor, constituting a family, clan, tribe, or race. Someone or something of the same or similar kind.
So glad you guys started this series! It's going to be a wild ride. It was crazy watching this in 48fps in theaters. They never released a version like that again but it was quite unique. Made the cgi look better but it was over a decade ago it's hard to remember.
Q: "How did you learn what a Dragon sounds like?" A: I grew up with a Dark Disney movie called, DRAGONSLAYER, featuring Vermithrax Perjorative. She was the most badass dragon to ever grace the silver screen.
Has anyone yet praised Roxy's diligence and dedication shown by taking notes? This is my favorite film of The Hobbit trilogy. Some of the best action scenes of the franchise, like that river rapids chase and fighting a Dragon.
If you try cuddling with a cow you will probably end up being a death by cow. They panic if you are in the wrong place because they can't see and will kick. Bolg is actually the spawn of Azog, his son. Left out of the movie is the highly trained dogs that Beorn had that could walk on their hind legs and do household chores like serving food. 15:44 when Bilbo looks back the head it shows is actually, Dominic, aka Merry from LOTR. In a special feature on the extended edition you see them filming that scene and he's standing there in Bilbo's costume in position as Martin Freeman is getting ready.
Honestly the first time I saw the barrell scene I hated it, just seemed so cartoony and silly compared to the gritty action of lotr. I was also prejudiced cos pretty sure that scene wasn't in the book. But seeing you two love it made me appreciate it more.
It took a couple viewings to get the other dwarves characters names. It maybe one of the most challenging parts of the film adaptation. Fili and Kiki are mentioned as brothers when they get it Bilbos place. I don’t recall if they mention of being Thorin’s nephews until this one. As children to one of Thorin’s sisters they would inherit the crown. Now I assume this is because there are no one male heirs and if it’s like British tradition it would pass down the next males unless Thorin had a son. The barrel fight maybe one of my favorite fights in Cinemax. It was so creative with humor and suspense while making it unique at the same time.
Being someone who’s read everything from this universe, Peter Jackson really did accomplish the impossible with these films. He really did capture lightning in a bottle with these stories, in the format of film, and they used every film technique in the book to accomplish this. I think it’s important to remember also not to get frustrated at people who have not read the books, to think that they could possibly understand everything in these films is not reasonable. I mean Sauron alone had about nine different names in the books, names that mean different things for different reasons. I thoroughly enjoy watching people enjoy these films for what they are, regardless of what level of knowledge they bring to this universe.
So the reason you see Thranduil face turn is in fact is real face covered by elvin magic. He was one of the first elves to reach middle after their civil war in the undying lands call the Kin Slaying. Most of the elves were forced to leave the west and go east to middle earth and settle. Thranduil was left scared in the First Age after a major war with orcs, dragons and other foul dark creatures of the North Middle Earth where he and his kin of elves took up settlement.
While I am glad that the hobbit movies show us more of the dwarfs and the Greenwood elves (aka Mirkwood elves, aka Woodland elves), one needs to know more about the lore to fully understand them and their behaviour. In the intro to the Fellowship of the rings one could see a battle of the war of the last alliance (men and elves resisting Sauron and marching against Mordor). What was not shown was that Greenwood elves under king Oropher (Thranduil's father, Legolas' grandfather) were participating as well in that battle. To make it short, they did not really want to fight under the elven High King Gil-Galad, so they charged before the rest of the armies, were cut off and then utterly destroyed in the marshes near Mordor. Those marshes were filled with thousands of bodies and later became known as the "dead marshes". At the time of the ring wars Gollum lead Frodo and Sam through the dead marshes, where they could still see those dead bodies from 3000 years ago. The aftermath of this disaster was that the Greenwood elves under now king Thranduil did not want to participate in any war anymore. And whenever they were threatened in their realm, they would rather evade/move than fight. This explains to some degree why Thranduil would not help the dwarfs when they were attacked and risk the wrath of Smaug, this explains also to some degree why we haven't seen any Greenwood elves in the LOTR movies besides the representatives at the secret counsel in Rivendell and Legolas ofc.
In the lore of lotr Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, and the Balrog(s) all belong to a caste of what are essentially lower tier angels called Miar. Sauron and the Balrog(s) were the first Dark lord's chief lieutenants of which Sauron was the greatest. Gandalf, Saruman, Radagast, and the two blue wizards are sent to Middle Earth to work against Sauron in the early years of the third age (which begins after the opening battle of the first lotr film). However, the wizards are not supposed to unveil their full power to directly interfere with the affairs of Middle Earth, rather they are primarily there to advise and organize the free peoples against Sauron. This is also why the wizards take the forms of old men despite their spirit's being immortal, they took these appearances as a way to appear wise and trustworthy to the people they were meant to guide, without seeming threatening or overly powerful. In fact, very few individuals are actually aware of the true nature of the Wizards, essentially only the members of the White Council knew (Galadriel, Elrond, Cirdan the Shipwright). Going back to their true power, the battle with the Balrog is one of the few times we see "Gandalf the Grey uncloaked" the wizards would be able to kill almost every being in Middle Earth in single combat with relative ease save for the other Miar, a select few elves still present from the first age, and possibly the unnamed things such as The Watcher in The Water ((squid monster from FOTR) such little is known about them just wanted to mention it). Dragons would also likely be a difficult task, but there's enough examples of them being killed or mortally wounded by elves, men, and dwarves that you can probably make the presumption that Gandalf could kill one given the right circumstances.
Y’all are gonna freak about Galadriel in the Battle of the Five Armies. You actually find out how powerful she is. My favorite scene of the Hobbit movies.
Thranduil is played by Lee Pace who was also in Breaking Dawn part 2. He’s plays Carlisle’s friend Garrett: he is the vampire that gets with Kate (she radiates energy from her hands)
Don’t recall how old Legolas is in LOTR, but Arwen is around 2800 years old when she married Aragorn. He was around 80 at the time of the marriage. So he’d be in his 20’s at this point in time I think.
The reason bilbo looked so sick was because he was about to break down after killing an innocent what seemed to be baby spider for the ring. Which it did not even want.
They mention in Lord of the Rings Extended Edition that Aragorn is 60 something years old at that time, so Aragorn should be around 4 years old at The Hobbit's timeline
So a lot of people here have already said Aragorns age, however no one can say how old Legolas is, it's estimated to be somewhere around 2000+ years old. However an exact age cannot be made.
In the Extended Cut of Either Two Towers or ROTK Aragorn said he was in his 80's when he spoke to Aowen. So during the events of the Hobbit he has to be in his 20's

There are lots of easter eggs in these movies:
1 the trolls frozen into stone - in the fellowship, after Frodo is stabbed you see them, where Arwen arrives.
"they never told us any of this". They told you all of this in Bilbo's house
God I can't stand Roxy's lack of intelligence.
@@kaano1992 I don't understand why you're watching and commenting on a reaction video featuring a person you can't stand...?
that's because they are too busy talking instead of paying attention
@mattr1100 it's their job to talk about what they're watching. This isn't a rebroadcast of the movie with people making faces on a green screen. They discuss what's happening, how hey feel about it, what they like and don't understand.
This has been the case for all of their reactions. If that's not what you want then you don't have to watch.
@@BallisticTech bro they are clueless.. its as if they don't even watch with how much they don't know
Orlando Bloom is actually older than the actor who plays Legolas’s father
LEE PACE plays King Thranduil. Great underrated actor.
He was Ronan in Guardians of the Galaxy.
King Thanduil is the bad guy in Gaurdians and thats amazing
The origin of Beorn....
Them: "Mr. Tolkien, If alone in the woods, would you rather cross-paths with a random man or random bear?"
Tolkien: "...yes."
"Kin" not "kid" lol. I know that some people hate subtitles but for stuff like this with all the weird names and archaic vocabulary it might help
Smaug is still technically the richest character in all of fiction. He’s estimated to have around 62 billion dollars in his treasure collection…
But the gold is not his....
Scrooge McDuck has more than anyone.
@@y4uriteme I was just about to bring this up, no one has more money than good old scrooge McDuck.
Really? the Gold isn't his, Scrooge McDuck on the other hand
So happy to see people love the barrels, because it gets so much unfair hate. Sure the go pro was a bad idea but the choreography was so much fun
at 21:43 Bilbo realize that he was unnaturally so savage while he kills that baby spider.. Normally he could terrified from it..But the fear of losing the ring made him so savage and brave.. He just realized that ring effected to himself and he shocked for this info... That's what you saw at 21:43
Those cloacks are not Hobbit's, they are a gift from the Elfs (Galadriel's kingdom) from Loth Lorien. So they are elven cloaks.
And they didn’t have them till LOTR so it’s a complete red herring!
Smaug is definitely one of my favourite movie dragons and I think they did a really good job designing him
By the way, kin just means family, as in the whole family tree. Doesn't always mean direct family, as in father and his sons.
Lee Pace is his name. Phenomenal actor.
Can confirm
"One of a number. One of nine"
Right over their head.
"The Nine only answer to one master."
Tara - "Necromancer?"
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight over their heads.
These people do not have a clue what "The Nine" are. But they want the names of the dwarves. Which they've already been given.
1:03:26 Sauron and Gandalf are from the same race, the Maiar, they are demigods of which Sauron is the most powerful.
Honestly, my favorite part of this movie was Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug. How am I supposed to take that character seriously when he moves and talks like that? 😅
Hearing the voice in theaters was amazing.
Watching him do the mo-cap for Smaug is pretty cool.
The best of the Hobbit trilogy, thanks in large part to Smaug, and Peter Jackson giving Bard a backstory.
Too bad he made Bard into another Aragorn.
19:44 The sword is Which Bilbo gave to Frodo.. The Sting.. I'm shocked that you didnt recognize it..
I’m surprised they didn’t recognise it when it was glowing blue in the last movie lol 😂
Benedict Cumberbatch did the motion capture for Smaug. You should check out the behind the scenes video. It’s pretty amusing to watch!
I love you ladies so much! ❤
They did explain who Fili & Kili are, you guys were just talking when they did. Hahaha 😅
They've said how they are Thorin's nephews, they are his sister's twin sons. He didn't call them his kids...he called them his kin. 😂
Loving this journey with the two of you!
Let's be honest, after Toothless, Smaug is the best dragon in cinematic history.
no toothless is second to smaug as toothless has less cunning and smaug is what all dragons should aspire to be
As long as Draco from Dragonheart is in the top 3 😊
Shnumber onesh
Where does GOT's Drogon rank?
Drogon is up there too
"Half dead, but kind of sexy." HAHAHA.
29:57 There were many magic rings in the world but only the rings of power had the levels of strength they had. Gandalf initially believed Bilbo had a magical ring but not the one ring since Bilbo never shared what it could do other than be invisible.
What's funny is that the actor who plays Legolas' father is younger than Orlando Bloom.
SMAUG: The MVP of the Hobbit trilogy
Fili and Kili are next in line to the Throne, being the sons of Thorins sister, he having no children of his own.
Smaug is the best fantasy dragon🔥
at 1:01:07 The dworf want Bard to bring King's foil herb..
Roxys confidence in being wrong drives me up the wall sometimes.
I don't know WHAT could be so hard....
Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Nori, Dori, Ori, Balin, Dwalin, Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin and Thorin!
Right, it's almost too easy to remember all of these names 😂
Lee Pace is so freaking good as Thranduil
The most elvish elf ever. He's so cool.
Unfortunately the stubborness of dwarves is very real in Middle earth. Stubborness is an annoying trait to have but when you think Gimli was also stubborn, you still love the dwarves as characters 😅 its part of who they are ❤
Fili and kili are not thorins sons, they are his nephews, thorin said his kin, not kid
I grew up near Sarehole Mill, where Tolkien grew up and took inspiration for the Shires in England. Beautiful area in Moseley, Birmingham
“Cows love to cuddle.” Tara - 2024
As someone who grew up around them. The few that are cuddly are rare. More than once a caw has just decided to try and kill me. Specially if they have a calf.
Edit: There was one bull who's mother was sick when he was just a little calf. He was raised and fed by hand because others would reject him. Problem was when he grew up. He thought he could play like normal. Ended up destroying equipment and even once tossed a bale of hay over the fence injuring my cousin. You couldn't be alone with him because he would kill you while trying to play.
A Heffer almost destroyed my dad's kneecap while branding.

In the book the dwarf issue was worse, now at least you can see them
Q: "How did you learn what a Dragon sounds like?" A: I grew up with a Dark Disney movie called, DRAGONSLAYER, featuring Vermithrax Perjorative.
"He just rode an orc like a surfboard!"
Yep. That's Legolas 😎
under 1 hour and hear for all middle earth content. love it
If you try cuddling with a cow you will probably end up being a death by cow.
The cloaks were given to Frodo and Sam by Galadriel when they left Lothlorien--they aren't hobbit cloaks, but Elven cloaks. :)
Roxy Gandalf literally names them all by name in the first movie.
Honestly the first time I saw the barrell scene I hated it, just seemed so cartoony and silly compared to the gritty action of lotr. I was also prejudiced cos pretty sure that scene wasn't in the book.
But seeing you two love it made me appreciate it more.
Bilbo's sword was designed specifically by the Elves for killing spiders. Sting is a perfect name.
"Flirt-mance"?? Good one.
I remember when the first hobbit came out, my father and brothers cosplayed at the theatre
Yes, Roxy, the white is back from An Unexpected Journey
Being someone who’s read everything from this universe, Peter Jackson really did accomplish the impossible with these films. He really did capture lightning in a bottle with these stories, in the format of film, and they used every film technique in the book to accomplish this. I think it’s important to remember also not to get frustrated at people who have not read the books, to think that they could possibly understand everything in these films is not reasonable. I mean Sauron alone had about nine different names in the books, names that mean different things for different reasons. I thoroughly enjoy watching people enjoy these films for what they are, regardless of what level of knowledge they bring to this universe.
Before Smaug, the dragon VERMITHRAX was the scariest looking dragon in cinema
If Dragonslayer was made now Vermithrax Pejorative would be the scariest, the Dragon in Reign of Fire is also worthy of a mention
Every time I watch this, I want to live in Beorn's house or even Radagast's house!
We also get Balin as a connection to LOTR. His tomb was found by Gimli in Moria.
Also Gimli arrives at Rivendale with his dad Gloin.
In The Two Towers extended version, Aragorn reveals he is 87 years old.
Lee Pace is an absolute talent as Thranduil. I love him in 'The Fall' and 'Pushing Daisies'
1:09:41 Benedict Cumberbatch
Hell yeah back to the Adventure. Having fun watching the series so far.
Benedict Cumberbach is the voice of Smaug ladies - and there's a video of him gettng into character thats chilling to watch, he's SO good.
After Gandalf's meeting with Thorin in Bree, he found Thrain and got the key from him, which he gave to Thorin in the first movie.
Man, I wish I had a friend like Tara! I could talk 100% nonsense, and all I'd hear back is, "Yeah, right. Yeah."
Roxy sis that super famous actor you forgot was Stephen Fry who played the master of Laketown.
They talk about it in the breakdown at the end of the video
@BallisticTech fair enough I was also shocked myself as I'm a huge fan of his and somehow never noticed.
My father in law said an ox was one of he's best friends and frequently let him sleep next to it.
"They never told us any of this" They literally told you all of that in the first hour of the first movie.
FYI, the Necromancer is Sauron. It’s believed it’s used as a name for the form he takes in the books/movies.
The reason bilbo looked so sick was because he was about to break down after killing an innocent what seemed to be baby spider for the ring. Which it did not even want.
The Hobbit Trilogy is awesome💯🔥
They mention in Lord of the Rings Extended Edition that Aragorn is 60 something years old at that time, so Aragorn should be around 4 years old at The Hobbit's timeline
So a lot of people here have already said Aragorns age, however no one can say how old Legolas is, it's estimated to be somewhere around 2000+ years old. However an exact age cannot be made.
In the Extended Cut of Either Two Towers or ROTK Aragorn said he was in his 80's when he spoke to Aowen. So during the events of the Hobbit he has to be in his 20's
