Just over a year ago, I bought both versions. In my nose, EDT is sharper, I would even say it has a cheeky, obsessive presence, while EDP is more refined. However, the DNA of both products is the same, several hours after they are applied, and when they are dried they smell the same. I can definitely say that the EDP is longer.
EDP and EDT are very similar; much more similar than differences between the EDT and EDP versions of Bleu de Chanel. Sauvage EDT opens up a bit louder - it is more ambroxan/bergamot heavy and has a greater variety of other notes which altogether give it a brighter/ligher, musky quality. The EDP, conversely, balances the Ambroxan/Bergamot with spice; pepper and the addition of nutmeg. The EDP also includes fewer notes in the heart that would otherwise detract its more simple, distinct and slightly spicier character. Whatever amount of anise and vanilla was mixed in is hardly detectable but with fewer other notes, again, helps to create a more distinctive middle and end to the fragrance. I find the EDT better overall especially considering its versatility; it has better sillage and I prefer a lighter muskier quality to a spicier one for warmer weather especially. The EDP trades the ambroxany/bergamot linger for slightly more distinctive, ever so slightly spicier edge. While they are both very good; with one possibly being a better go-to for the evening, I wouldnt bother buying both since they are so similar and both so good. I find the EDT more piquing, versatile and less likely to offend others or cause headaches for myself if I oversprayed.
@@user-bg4qv3jp7e How is he wrong? There is no right or wrong if it is his own opinion. Like him I prefer the EDT as well, I find the EDP a little too strong on my nose at times.

EDP is far better in my opinion. Did not realise the tester I tried was EDP and ended buying the EDT. Took it back after wearing twice as I thought there was something wrong with the bottle I had. It did not last long at all on me and did not smell anywhere near as nice as the EDP to me. After the first hour the EDP took on a different smell to the EDT for me. Hard to explain as I'm not a fragrance expert, it just smelt more refined and lasted so much longer. Luckily Boots let me just pay the difference for a bottle of EDP.
@@FRAGMENTAL I wonder if the EDT has been reformulated? I got mine last month. There really is quite a difference in performance and smell to me. I got my replacement bottle of EDP yesterday, tried it and very happy with it.
Big Beard Business got 100ml today , the parfum is much better it’s like they removed the annoying metallic note a d added vanilla , it’s very smooth a d in my skin the dry down is very close to sauvage mixed with Dylan blue
I have both the edt and edp, both purchased in 2020. Idk if the edt has been reformulated but on my skin the edt and edp projects the same if not a bit less than the edp. Between the two, I absolutely prefer the more deep, sweet, and richer edp.
I tried about 30 fragrance samples so far (both niche and designer). Sauvage has been by far the strongest performer. I personally hate the scent. I sprayed a little of it on my hand to remind me of the smell, and then after 10 mins, I washed my hand. After another three washes I can still smell it!👃 It's a monster.
I loved EDT; I just bought EDP... I thought they smelled COMPLETELY different, this EDP smells a bit "chalky", I don't really like it... Am I the only one who thinks this?
I loved the EDT when it came out! I replaced it 2 weeks ago with the EDP and I hate it! Its noxious, peppery and just nasty. The EDT was sweet and smooth. Cool cool. The less screechy nature seems to be the common theme among reviews for the EDP. In fact, that was the reason I purchased Luna Rossa Carbon (LRC) over the original EDT. But how does it compare to the smell of LRC? Is it just a tad sweeter?
I’m not really a fan of the EDP. The EDT is excellent for summer casual bright smells amazing (even if it is synthetic) the EDP to me is a more smooth well rounded version kinda ideal for Autumn but for Autumn I feel there are many better options I would opt for before EDP 🤷♂️ just me
Hi Chris, nice review on the two. Little late to the party on the sauvage train. I recently picked up a bottle of the EDT from house of Fraser. EDT has long been watered down. As Chris mentioned in the video, Dior reformulate on the sly when they bring out a new concentration. They won’t always admit it, but it’s common.
I didn't get Sauvage mainly because I didn't want to smell like everybody else. But even I can admit that I need to buy them. Would it be redundant to buy both? Because I'm considering the EDT for day use and EDP for those date nights.
You could own both but they are both very very similar. Personally I would be happy just owning the EDP as it would work well for both day and night. Maybe buy one and get a sample of the other 👍

Nice review. I am going to subscribe. I'm still thinking Suavage is an Axe air freshener fragrance with beast performance under a high end designer as Dior, however a month ago, I bought the 200 Ml bottle as it is a mass appealing fragrance and women love it, I thought why not get it to add it to my collection beside as ussual, most probably in any moment will be reformulated. Now my question is: Do you think this EDP is a winter option of Sauvage? Do you think this is like comparing Blue de Chanel EDP with EDT? of course nothing to do to Sauvage, just I wonder if it is like that different. By the way, are you irish? I got that kind of accent when you say "Much" and "Touch". Sorry if I am wrong.
Hi there! Thanks for watching and subbing. Nope, not Irish. I'm from Manchester area of the North of England. Yes I would say the warmer spicier notes of the EDP would make this a good winter option. There's not a drastic difference in scent between the two though. I think you're right that the EDT will become weaker.

I bought the edt about 3 months ago and honestly I was let down, it smelled good but didn’t last long so I returned it, I’m thinking about buying it again because my sense of smell was damaged by covid. Maybe this time it will be a different experience.
Hi I seen so many differant opinions on Dior sauvage about how long the each last the edp and also the EDT what's your option on how the longevity is on both off these
@@carltondouglas4997 nah bro, but in my experience, I feel both have similar performance atleast on me for the conditions in India. Definitely go for EDP if you don’t want to smell generic and little boring.
I can honestly say that I have tried a large amount of mens fragerences over the years. From all of the French Designer brands and more. Dior is in my opinion the best quality perfume and fragrance manufacturer on this planet. There are three main factors to back up my statement. 1. The quality you get from the price is astounding. 2. The smell from the fragrances is beautiful. 3. And the longevity of the fragrances especially the EDP is majorly lasting. The Sauvage EDP in my opinion could have been priced higher. ( dont tell Dior that though!) Why do I say that? Well, the majority of the underdogs who have produced some terrable fragrances that are marked at a similar or higher price sometimes put people off from buying it, because they think they are getting a similar raw deal, that is until of course they try a free spray of it from the airport shops or Boots! The Dior Pour Homme Intense is also a fantastic buy, with all of the three factors previously mentioned built in its DNA. Well done Dior for such great products Thank you all.....
Hmm ... My place belongs to a minority ... I am not saying that Sauvage is not a good scent, but it does nothing to impress me ... I bought it when it came out, for €95.00 (retail) ... lasting power, on my skin, is very limited ... lasts only for a couple of hours and projects for maximum 1.5 hours ... As you rightly said, it is linear, but I wouldn't mind that; as long as it smells OK, i have no problems with scents which do not evolve ... Albeit my small / limited interest in Sauvage, I will approach the Parfum version with an open mind ... thanks and very informative video ...
Hi Liam, really great to let me know your thoughts on Sauvage. Thanks for taking the time. I'm suprised you don't get the beast performance of Sauvage! Maybe it's so strong you get Olfactory fatigue! 😂 Seriously though, it is fascinating how frags work so differently off different skin types. I'd be interested to see how the EDP performs for you.
Lovely review Chris. I love my OG Sauvage, so I guess the diferences are not that big to justify the buy. I love the opening so that was not a problem to begin with, I'll stick with the EDT. PS: Love the "flair" bottle toss at the end...
Thank you Sérgio! If you love the OG you're not missing too much. EDP has a subtle edge of refinement but nothing massively game changing. I need to be careful I don't break my bottles when I toss them!
God, so many different reviews regarding sauvage edp! Some think it lacks projection, others think it isn’t long lasting, but I do believe most like the smell... Now, I’m new to fragrances, and I truly believe different fragrances work differently on different people, so, having ordered a couple EDT’s (and gotten very lucky might I had) I figured I would try this EDP! It should arrive in the mail pretty soon, we’ll see how it goes!
I got the EDT when it came out and loved it so much! I replaced it 2 weeks ago with the EDP and I hate it! Its too bitter! Too sharp and peppery to me. The EDT was sweet and smooth. The EDP is noxious to me. I do not understand what has happened! Bad batch? Change of ingredients?
Just over a year ago, I bought both versions. In my nose, EDT is sharper, I would even say it has a cheeky, obsessive presence, while EDP is more refined. However, the DNA of both products is the same, several hours after they are applied, and when they are dried they smell the same. I can definitely say that the EDP is longer.

just bought EDP 200 ml. its really great. actaully both edt and edp are great but EDP ohh.
Wherefrom?
Guys which do I get? The Eau de Parfum or the Eau de Toilette?
EDP all the way. Worth
Hi I seen so many differant opinions on Dior sauvage about how long the each last the edp and also the EDT what's your option on how the longevity is on both off these
Should I get the edt now or not ?
Both are great but i prefer EDP
Just got the edt and love the dry down, it ouses lovely scents, really love it even if i am 2 years late, yes lasts all day i to the night...atb Lee
It's great you picked it up. It certainly isn't a slouch!
I'm late man I just ordered it yesterday
@@thedudeofshaving1749 how is it I heard it's been reformulated
When was it reformulated? It's a pretty good performer last like 5 hrs on me .i wouldnt say all day but my skin drinks cologne up.
Any idea about the recent formulations? EDT still performs good?
Did you get an answer to this @Harsha T?
@@carltondouglas4997 nah bro, but in my experience, I feel both have similar performance atleast on me for the conditions in India. Definitely go for EDP if you don’t want to smell generic and little boring.
EDT for summer EDP for winter because I think it’s more peppery
I can honestly say that I have tried a large amount of mens fragerences over the years. From all of the French Designer brands and more.
Dior is in my opinion the best quality perfume and fragrance manufacturer on this planet.
There are three main factors to back up my statement.
1. The quality you get from the price is astounding.
2. The smell from the fragrances is beautiful.
3. And the longevity of the fragrances especially the EDP is majorly lasting.
The Sauvage EDP in my opinion could have been priced higher. ( dont tell Dior that though!)
Why do I say that?
Well, the majority of the underdogs who have produced some terrable fragrances that are marked at a similar or higher price sometimes put people off from buying it, because they think they are getting a similar raw deal, that is until of course they try a free spray of it from the airport shops or Boots!
The Dior Pour Homme Intense is also a fantastic buy, with all of the three factors previously mentioned built in its DNA.
Well done Dior for such great products
Thank you all.....
Cool, then i will not buy the EDP until i run out of the one i have now. Great review.
Thanks Andy, I really appreciate that my friend ☺
Edp or edt .
Great Review
Thank you Mohamed!
Do you recommend me buy Sauvage EDT although in general the fragrances do not stay fixed on my skin?
Sauvage EDT is one of the best performing scents I've ever worn!
I'd be interested to see how the EDP performs for you.
you got a fake
I owned both and i like both, i wear it depends on my mood.
Yes same for me👍🏻
EDT has more projection than EDP.
When did you buy yours
New subscriber here. You definitely have style in your presentation. Going to check out more of your videos. Thank you. Peace and be well my friend ✌
Tommy thanks! Welcome aboard Sir. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I am 😃👍
EDT better performance? Now thas a joke, i have the EDT, EDP and the Parfum. No way for an EDT to be better performer...
New subscriber just won rhe edp at an eBay auction for 48$ thanks for the video
Lovely review Chris. I love my OG Sauvage, so I guess the diferences are not that big to justify the buy. I love the opening so that was not a problem to begin with, I'll stick with the EDT. PS: Love the "flair" bottle toss at the end...
Thank you Sérgio! If you love the OG you're not missing too much. EDP has a subtle edge of refinement but nothing massively game changing. I need to be careful I don't break my bottles when I toss them!
2:34 no the edt has extra and more notes, more then edp
😂😂 nah
You did not tell which one you prefer :)
Does dior sauvage edp reformulated?
For you which one is better edt or edp ?
I owned both for me EDP is better ...
I bought edp and like it. Wish it had a bit more lavender and or citrus.
Edt better and projects more
nice shirt from my favourite brand allsaints
Hey Ahmed, mine too! I could buy the whole dang shop!
I like the edp way more. I just like warm basenotes.
I didn't release that this had been released in the UK yet. I have a love/hate relationship with the EDT but willing to give this a chance.
YFE it's very similar to be honest. Some subtle differences. A bit smoother. You'd probably get a sample from Boots.
Always feel cheeky asking for samples.
I know but you don't ask you don't get. I usually ask when I'm making a purchase so I don't come across as a complete scrounger 😂
I'm from Yorkshire. More things I can get for nowt the better ha ha.
Good video. New subscriber!
Hey thanks! Welcome aboard ☺👍
Lmfaoooo, that intro
Nope , I don’t like the EDP. The smell makes me feel like I’m going to vomit. The EDT is better
i dont like it, to me it is like strong fresh deodrant kinda smell! but still if i have to go for one only which one you will suggest?
Hey Vikrant, I know what you mean. The EDP has a little more depth and refinement so I'd suggest you sample it to see if it's the one for you 👍
