You can really feel the intensity of the situation grow from the bgm alone. First one sounds like a bad situation, like being surrounded and outnumbered. Second one has more of a deep unfamiliar, uncanny feeling to it, a dire situation where the outcome is uncertain. The third one has a clear epic feeling to it, with the epic clearly being the opponent. I love how boss bgm all sound so hopeless yet they have different levels of hopelessness.
Skies of Arcadia had a similar system to it. During the boss fights the theme would change from the original to you losing to you almost beating the boss. Wish more games had something like that in them.
Theme 1: The theme of that last guy in a group that you know is going to be easy but he's just there to make you life difficult. Theme 2: The theme of someone you did not care to fight and wished to avoid. Theme 3: Theme of you regretting you hadn't saved before fighting someone who came out of nowhere. Theme 4: Theme of death.
I love how each of the themes end and your characters are standing there doing their victory routines. It used to always make me think, " Fuckin right!! I survived baby! Now give me that exp.!!"
Even though I listen to the OST all the time, I think the battles bring back the most feelings of nostalgia and intensity and you can just hear the character's voice over the music. HUA HA! WHIP SMACK!
Boss - 1: This game is really fun! Boss - 2: Whew....this game is really tough, I think I can make it! Boss - 3: *out of meds, out of attack items, no dragoon power, one character left at critical hp. -.-
Albert's pronunciation of that addition always made me chuckle. He always says it so weird. But Flower Storm(Blossom Storm) was always hella badass. He makes the name and the sounds of his grunts and screams while he is hitting you sound so fucking violent.
Yeah, it's one of those games you'll play again and again. I just recently bought the strategy guide and have been playing through it again. Sooo fun!!! ^_^
Oh I know it's out haha. I bought it almost instantly after it was made available. Just passed that ghost ship in disc 2. I'd be done the game already if I had more time to play it. Love the additions, never fails to stay entertaining!
I compiled a list of my favorites to bring back childhood memories. Theres a 90% chance you'll read everyone of these in the voices of the characters. YAH! TAH! GOH! HYRAH! VOLCANO! HUH! HRAH-AH-AH-GRAH! ROD TYPHOON! TUT! YA-TA-GA-HRYAH! YA-GA-RA-TA-GO-HYRAH! GUSTAWINDADANCE! HRUGH! GRAH! PURSUIT! HA-HA! GRAAAAAH! TAKE THAT! FLURRY OF STICKS! OOH! AHH! WHIPSMACK! Dragoon Form Abilities: EXPLOSION! HRRRYAAAAAAAAAAH! BLOSSOM STORM! ................................................................. ASSHOLE DRAIN! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
This game took at least 2 years to make back in the day and that was insane for a single game at the time. It really was a work of art but unfortunately super short in gameplay. I beat this game in less than 10hrs my first try. LoD2 needs to be made one day :)
Man these themes bring back the good times when I played this....I still have the game but the third disk has dissapeared.....but anyways.....Man miss playing the game...bwst characters that i used where Dart, Sharna, and Albert.
@jamesbond99 the reason this didn't get much attention compared to ff7 was not only because it wasn't made by square[ a main rpg company], but also it came out very late in fact if i remember was not that far off the ps2 release.
@PenguinAegis It's been a while since I've played it, and I'm not sure where the game is at right now, but the reason why it was on 4 discs wasn't because it was a long game, rather it was because of the cinematics and stuff. I played this game and beat it without sleeping just like OOT so It was around 10-15hours. I don't remember the final boss taking that long but then again it could have. Check out some speed runs, I'm sure you'll find many who beat it in less than 5.
It's already out, I bought it last week. I'm at the part where you need to get the Dragoni Plant to heal Shana. Haven't played long since I get interrupted when I play it.
@ExploringBeyond Uh, in order to beat the game in ten hours, you'd probably need to charge through every part of the game insanely quickly and do everything perfectly and flawlessly (Including finding those damn 3 stones to get to damn emperor Doel in the first disc), and the final boss can take about a whole hour. And I'm not even going to bother mentioning how beating it in 10 hours would be impossible due to it having FOUR discs.
Ive used many different team combinations... (Dart, Kongol and Albert) (Dart, Meru and Rose) and more, but my favorite would have to be (Dart, Miranda and Rose.) Miranda is sooo fast, I could attack with her several times before an enemy could, and If I needed to heal for whatever reason, I could, and Id still have more turns to throw attacks out.
I left the PS on the whole time I played this, never turned off once, took 375+ hours to beat lol, and even considering I suck that is alot of content!
One of my fav games ever, I still have my copy too... but my PS2 slim won't play after the last boss fight on disc 2 I wish my other PS2 was still working so I could play it again. Anyway my fav time was Dart, Albert and Rose, though when fighting Faust I used Dart, Albert and Kongol and won. I was laughing the entire time because of how much damage I was doing to him vs the damage he was able to me.
When i was little the only reason i started to play this game because i played FF VIII and FF IX and i liked these type of games that are long and in many CD's... It was a good game
One of the original composers passed away a few years back, if they do end up making a sequel I'd just hope it doesn't lose that feel. A remake would be pretty damn cool though.
Dart, Rose, and Albert is the most common team. But I always switched it up from mission to mission and found out that in the later parts of the game the best team would usually be Dart, Shana/Miranda(very powerful light dragon), and Haschel. Its always good to have a good combination of speed and power.
Theme 1 - Jiango repeatedly drops stalagmites on the party Theme 2 - Guftas.... ATTACK ! Theme 3 - You forgot to kill virage's left hand. He did can't combat, stomped the party and his preparing his laser shot.
This is my proudest game, and the only one I will NEVER sell. I plan on playing it when I'm 60, and still kicking butt at the additions. ^_^ I have yet to come across a better RPG game, and I hope that a re-vamped version or a new one comes out soon.
Well at least Sony acknowleged it by putting on PSN Store but yeah they really struck a nerve when they said they were working on a sequel and then it got canceled.
My team for the Final boss was Kongol, Dart, and I forgot the last one...but I think that it was the chick that takes Shana's place... (For healing purposes mainly.)
i remember i could do every single persons additions perfectly i felt so great when i could do alberts flower storm, haschel's omni-sweep, and meru's perky step
Preferably I like to switch my party with each fight. And when the final boss comes I use whatever party I want and switch it every time I die (Cause I never beat him on my first go.)
GUYS GUYS GUYS. If you want another Legend of Dragoon be made, join the movement #BringBackTheDragoons on Twitter! This might well be the biggest boost!
@MediaInRD Haha, yeah. She was definitely one of the coolest characters in LOD. I always kinda wished that the in the final fight Dart and Lloyd would team up and fight Melbu. But Lloyd has to be Rambo and get killed too...
Man I still have this game and I still play it. I got done with the dragoon boss battles in Vellweb. The only downside was the voice acting. there were some good parts to the voice acting but most of it was offsync like it didnt fit in. Still a really good rpg game.
SO MUCH NOSTALGIA. God, this game was and still is absolutely fantastic today. Though it's way behind in graphics, it can trump the hell out of most of today's RPGs in gameplay easily. Why isn't this on PSN, Sony?! T^T
@Drummr88 I could never get Alberts gust of wind dance as a kid. it was like WHAT WHAT TOO FAST AHHHHH , so then I accidentaly meru'd the rest of the game
Whenever the 3rd theme would start, I would think to myself, "Oh crap"
You can really feel the intensity of the situation grow from the bgm alone. First one sounds like a bad situation, like being surrounded and outnumbered. Second one has more of a deep unfamiliar, uncanny feeling to it, a dire situation where the outcome is uncertain. The third one has a clear epic feeling to it, with the epic clearly being the opponent. I love how boss bgm all sound so hopeless yet they have different levels of hopelessness.
to add to your thought the fourth and final theme sounds like you've already lost and the boss is celebrating lol.

When ever you here that third boss theme starts playing thats when you know shits about to get serous.
HARPOOOOON
Lavitz T_T
He was my wingman
I love how each of the themes end and your characters are standing there doing their victory routines.
It used to always make me think, " Fuckin right!! I survived baby! Now give me that exp.!!"
The scene where the party meets Meru and when she gets her dragoon stone are my two favorite scenes in the game, since they're just hysterical.
Even though I listen to the OST all the time, I think the battles bring back the most feelings of nostalgia and intensity and you can just hear the character's voice over the music. HUA HA! WHIP SMACK!
Boss - 1: This game is really fun!

I've had these tracks in my head since I played the game over 11 years ago... Bless you Quenveres!
Yeah, it's one of those games you'll play again and again. I just recently bought the strategy guide and have been playing through it again. Sooo fun!!! ^_^

Great game, honestly underrated. If they made a remake I'd probably play it.
+VanillaHatVII Probably? lol. If I knew it was released I'd buy it.
Sadly, Sony is too cheap :(
Blazing Dynamo!
Haschel and Kongol
Albert and Rose

I have to say boss Theme 3 is the best one imo.
I want a sequel!!. Maybe the next generation of dragoons!
This game took at least 2 years to make back in the day and that was insane for a single game at the time. It really was a work of art but unfortunately super short in gameplay. I beat this game in less than 10hrs my first try. LoD2 needs to be made one day :)
boss battle 2 is my favorite
@Dragonlover2013 And hell, the graphics on this game are good for their time. People don't take into account that it was released over ten years ago.
Rose: "More and More!"
That's what I want from this game.
0:00 to this music, as now I remember "rooster attacked")) (c) Fruegel
2:42 my favorite melody.

MADNESS .... HEROOOOOOOOOOO
Yeah, they left a lot of questions unanswered...
If they made games like the ones you just described, I would love to buy those! Good idea! =)
this game is the reason their will always be a "Dragoon" Class in my party lol.
i LOVE the final boos battle music!
BURNING RUSH, GUST OF WIND DANCE
It's already out, I bought it last week. I'm at the part where you need to get the Dragoni Plant to heal Shana. Haven't played long since I get interrupted when I play it.
Also, I just wanna say..... Some game label NEEDS to remake this as a PS3 exclusive..... And show these 360 fans what REAL gaming is
My team: Dart, Meru, Shana ^___^
LoD, great game!!
This is one of the last of the "classic" RPGs....
Ew me and my sister hate Miranda, but I like your 1st team choice...
I left the PS on the whole time I played this, never turned off once, took 375+ hours to beat lol, and even considering I suck that is alot of content!
@KroySS14 I just might try that team the next time I play through.
THank YOU SO MUCH for THIS!!! LOTD ALL THE WAY!!!!
This game was ahead of its time
thanks dude! ill be sure to check it out
Hoo! Hah! Die. Hah! Hoo! Ta! Hah! Ta! Demon's Dance.

3rd one..hands down!!!!
😃
Pretty sure they can pull off a prequel easy but it's never bad to leave it at a high.
Theme 1 - Jiango repeatedly drops stalagmites on the party
Theme 2 - Guftas.... ATTACK !
Theme 3 - You forgot to kill virage's left hand. He did can't combat, stomped the party and his preparing his laser shot.
I still own the original discs in peak condition and I'm immensely happy about that fact.
This is the jam.
boss theme 3 is the best :)

This brings back memories. I need the full OST disc.
This game was epic. They really need a re-release if not a full sequel.
it was only with this game an epic childhood :D
this is the real and the best game in the world!...no ps3 or ps2 has this kind of a game!
This is my proudest game, and the only one I will NEVER sell. I plan on playing it when I'm 60, and still kicking butt at the additions. ^_^

I remember liking this game a lot but I'm afraid to play it again since I think it might tarnish my memories.
This game is freakin awesome, i gave kongol a legend casque, now he's a freakin beast
@PlagueRiddenGoat
But truly is there anything better than playing this on the big screen on your original discs?
Btw Boss battle 3 is my Fav
@SquallLeonhartRoX Yea, it pumps you up.
Preferably I like to switch my party with each fight. And when the final boss comes I use whatever party I want and switch it every time I die (Cause I never beat him on my first go.)
i loved boss theme 2 during fruegel's match and his two pets hahaha

HOLY SHIT. I didn't think anybody else would be be up for that. I'm in.
I say they should re-make it. I love this game.
It's finally happening!!!! Lol
@@selinal7855 Um, what are you talking about?
@@Haseo8 the Legend of dragoon remake is available for digital purchase starting Feb 21st on the ps4 and ps5

Apparently it's coming as a ps1 downloadable title for PSN store next month!
you were correct dang i could have sworn it was made by square I guess it was so good like the past square i just assumed it was square lol.
This pleases me.
each boss theme always suits the situation
Theme 1: adrenaline rush
Theme 2: truly perilous situation
Theme 3: enveloped in chaos, a battle of mythological proportions
Theme 4: the wrath of God
I usually used that team as well. And if I needed someone faster than Kongol, I called in Haschel.
I miss those times, I guess I need to launch my PSX Emulator along with the ISO's I've got of the game, let's do this !
I love this music and I love this game
Last thing he composed for was Saikano (Anime, in 2002)
