    This game is honestly a master piece and yet I rarely ever hear anyone talk about it or even know what the game is. I remember buying the game with my birthday money because I liked the cover art. I made a great purchase that gave me countless hours of fun and now, happiness from nostalgia.

      I ended up getting it dirt cheap when I worked at Gamestop. They had stopped selling PS1 games at that point, but they had plenty of them in storage, and employees could still buy them(along with N64 games and systems). When I started playing it, I felt bad that I'd waited so long to do so. I guess this is the kind of thing that happens when you have a one-off title.

    Oh dear nostalgia... every time i hear this song i remember a scene shortly before arriving to the castle, on Lavitz’s house roof he was talking to Dart about how he always dreamed to become a knight like his father. And they were just sitting on the roof chilling watching the castle from there. Such perfection on a single scene so hard to find..

      I loved this sound track so much during Disk 2 ... the night before the Valley of Corrupted Gravel, the night before the Queen Fury to Illisan Bay and the party before heading to Disk 3.
      I was playing this game when I was 9 years old and I was only allowed to play a few hours a week. The sound track really made me feel like the calm before a long journey. It was just incredible memories.

    My mother bought me this game when I was 8 year old and used to watch my older sister play this game. This game was cool, it filled my imagination with wonder as I would watch her traverse the beautiful, and diverse landscapes. For the people who don't like this game, I simply say it probably wasn't your style if your concerned with gameplay or have a discerning eye towards repetitiveness: it wasn't about that material kind of stuff. It was the story, the theme, the imagery, the emotion, the feeling it imbibed when you immersed yourself fully within the world. In other words, the meaning it meant. Besides it was always better with people around.

      +George Sol As an adult who is replaying this game for the third time, I have exactly the same thoughts. The game is certainly flawed: with some technical and translation issues, but even today it is a very well rounded and enjoyable gaming experience for me. The story is not by any means perfect (my main complain is that it feels a bit rushed at times, but it is maybe because of how fast dialogues can be skipped), but has enough interesting worldbuilding, themes and characters to keep you invested.
      On the other hand, the art and music are fantastic, truly helping to immerse the player into the beautiful fantasy world of the game, but what makes it truly stand out is the gameplay. The addition system might be a little tricky to master at first, but then it becomes quite addicting and satisfactory. I find sad how so few JRPG games have borrowed it since then (and none of them as good as LoD. For example, most imitators didn't bother to add flashy combo animations).

    They say never judge a book by its cover and yet it is exactly how I found this game. When I was a young kid, couldn't even read very well, my mother took me to the store and I saw this game. The cover looked so neat I couldn't help but want it. My mom tried to put it back and suggested I should get a different one from a cartoon I really liked. I insisted and she gave in. Got back home and it was a reading game. My mom read it to me sometimes but we eventually gave it up. I picked it up again when I was older and it was a great experience.

    A spectacular story where sudden unexpected plot twists happened every two seconds, an excellent soundtrack, amazing graphics (especially during cutscenes), damn fine voice work, and a combat system that was actually better than most RPG's of the time and most (if not all) that have come since... I love this game.
    My PS1 days were spent playing this, Chrono Cross, and Legend of Mana a hell of a lot more than I played FF7 or FF8. They just don't make 'em like they used to, still sucks the sequel got scrapped in the P&D stages.

    • @systemrecords9708
      @systemrecords9708 3 года назад

      i hear you man, im from that era as well. but i will say this, ff7 and ff8 were great and you could actually beat them as a kid, although i never quite beat them.
      but legend of dragoon and chrono chross, these two games were unbeatable as a kid. I had the guide and didnt know what the hell I was doing half the time. Everything is convoluted (more chrono chross than LOTD) and very difficult in those games. Like as a kid you could understand the materia and junction system, as an adult I still dont understand the combat in chrono cross, that was way convoluted, and the expected young people to understand it.

    One the greatest and most underrated rpg games from that era and thats too much too say cuz the offer was high in that period. This game had everything putted in the right place. Very balanced with outstanding graphics at that time. Deserves a remaster

    Makes me miss being a kid. No problems, no priorities, no jobs. Just being a kid playing with this game, having that feel good feeling of playing disk 1 all over again, having all family members alive and well, eating my favorite dish with the family then going back to playing again with my ps1 and small TV. Taking a break from the game by watching cartoon network and nickelodeon. Oh man those were the days

      i have no clue why they didn't just give him lambert as his last name right? that S looks so out of place isnt it? haha maybe because it sounds too much like Albert so they put an S there?

      +o0Eddy880o I'd rather not live there. There are a lot more people dying to monsters than adventuring and slaying monsters. The odds are against you being born a dragoon bad ass.

      +o0Eddy880o The people in Endiness consider our world a fantasy world. With moving chunks of metal and weaponry the likes of which they've never seen. They would love to close their eyes and awake in such a world. Unfortunately for them that will never happen.

      Not just this.
      There are so many GREAT RPG games from the SNES PS1 etc era that they can remake on ps4 with updated graphics {think Metal Gear V fox engine, open world}, etc and add stuff and polish up etc.
      Breath Of Fire
      Lufia
      Chrono Trigger
      Suikoden
      FF 2 and 6 {snes }
      I can go on and on.
      Yet they just keep making games these days that look good, but do not have music like this or great story etc.

    I tend to love castle themes, but my first encounter with this theme was in the canal/sewers and I totally didn't expect it to be a castle theme. It reminds me of the game's opening cutscene more than anything. Sounds what I would expect in the final area of the game or something.

      John Devito I won't lie i never liked God of war. But i still understand why Its a great game and why people like it. I just want them to got with something else maybe bring back what made Playstation so famous. Medievil,Syphon Filter ( Especially Syphon Filter)And Crash. I played a lot with my Little PS1 younger such a great console. But they did try something else The order 1886 i think its made by those who made GOD OF WAR.

    • @TheGoldenPS1
      @TheGoldenPS1 7 лет назад

      Umbrella4117 We get Days Gone instead of Syphon Filter. We get a different God of War with more story. We get a proper Spider-Man game. We get Horizon Zero Dawn.
      From Sucker Punch we will get an open-world cyberpunk action/adventure/RPG IP.
      From JAPAN Studio we will get Freedom Wars 2, new AAA IP trademarked as Save The Earth, Miyazaki's new dark fantasy action-RPG moving away from Souls brand and Yoshitaka Murayama's project that is going to be an RPG.
      So three RPGs and one cinematic multiplayer action game from Japan. These are the bigger games left on PS4. Unannounced and will soon be revealed. So in total, we'll get 5 big games from JAPAN Studio on PS4 before this gen ends. Bloodborne is already out so that is included.
      It is now a good time to be a PS4 user.
