I have been an A5 Disc-bound Planner for nearly a decade, but moved into the Standard TN size about 4 months ago. I am loving the smaller, more portable size that still provides the ability to customize and personalize with affordable inserts that have fewer pages than a book-bound setup, so I am not as afraid of "messing it up" or abandoning something that cost a lot of money. I really enjoy seeing how others use/set up their TNs, so thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much! I did try the A5 disc-bound before but didn't last long in there unfortunately. I agree, TN size is so much easier to keep around and travel with. I'm also still in that size. TN's all the way 👍
I definitely understand need for perfection paralysis. I have so many things unfinished because it wasn’t coming out to my “perfect” standards. That’s such a great idea to keep a book especially for making mistakes. I started bookbinding recently and you’ve inspired me to make a sketchbook for myself to make mistakes in.
I’m so glad to hear you this video inspired you to make more mistakes to produce happy little accidents! I think it’s the way some of our minds work. I really needed a place to make ugly notes and ugly sketches and scribbles. In a way, it is my way of warming up my creative muscles…and the warming up is supposed to look ugly (at least I tell myself). I hope your new sketchbook will help you to make more mistakes to get to your ideal destination :) 👌👍
Loved having a peek inside your TNs! I've watched this video a few times now. I think what you've convinced me of is that by customizing with inner and outer pockets, it makes a TN even more useable. I think that's next on my list. Thanks!
Customizing the TN is the way to go! I wish I’d done it sooner because it is a game changer. It is so much more functional for bringing on-the-go. I have a small passport one on the way because the standard worked so well. I’m hoping I can use it as a wallet. Can’t wait to share! Thanks for watching ❤️
Yes, combining the gratitude with memory keeping is very ideal I think! I do a similar thing in one of the notebooks each year where I write down in bullets nice things that happened during the day or that I did, only the positive things. And since it's in bullets is easy to fill in and easy to look back on because very quickly I can see what happened and it's just so inspiring to see way after the fact ! Also I like to do it in a dated planner because this way it's easy to see how far one memory is from another ! Which I cannot really see in my other free form journals for example (but they serve other purposes so of course I still keep them). 😊
That is a very neat way of recalling memories within a dated planner. You are right, if I journaled in a non dated, then the time in between is not as visually obvious. I always prefer a dated journal and planner for this reason; plus, I like it when the date is already printed. Thx for commenting and watching my video! 👍
I use ebook Remarkable 2 to scribble quick thoughts it’s on the pricy side but i like it because it’s as close to writing on paper. Loving it it’s so minimalistic. Because it’s only good for taking notes that you can email to yourself.
The Cream Paper is known for being soft on the eyes to avoid strain. I love the vintage vibes 🥰 Wish Kleid made an A5 of Kraft paper...It rocks soo much with the light Grid! It hopeful that they have the Diaries. Had the same problem with needing scratch paper, so I got the A5 One Piece with Luffy for that purpose and use the Leather for the Refined process.
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve watched your videos from time to time and this video reminded me of how good your content is (you should have more followers with your top notch content 🤯) and how similar our planning / journaling styles are. Can I ask what you used to cut the Muji notebooks to TN size? I have taken a preference to cream papers too (Midori specifically) and would love to DIY it to fit my standard TN. Also, I love everything in your lineup and have it as a goal to customise my own Kurashiki cover when I visit Japan in spring this year 🌸 I wish you a happy new year and I look forward to you sharing how you got the Toyooka Craft pen drawers with us 🥰
Hey! Thanks so much for leaving your comments, I've been so late with all replies after I got sick during the holidays. I think that is one of the kindest things anyone has said before. It's definitely not easy filming videos on a regular basis but it's fun; and I love sharing. To answer your question about cutting MUJI notebooks, I used a rotary blade but a box cutter would work. I use a metal ruler with a cork bottom to line my cuts. I keep the ruler in position and cut pg by pg until it's all been cut through. I wish you an amazing wonderful trip to Kurashiki! 🙂
I finally got around to sitting down and watching this on Christmas day! I love your set up for the new year! I've never tried mind-mapping, and maybe I should look into it. I've been at sixes and sevens for the past couple of months, and need to work on not feeling quite so overwhelmed. I'm so glad that you like those PET tapes, I love her colour choices, and how you arranged them looks lovely.
Hey, I've been so behind on replying to comments. I've not heard from you so I hope all is well?! I hope you are having a wonderful start to the year. P.S. I hope my Xmas card got to you safely!
Hey I totally took a break and usually am not this late at replying to comments but thank you for watching. I'm glad that someone out there enjoyed my video I wish you have a wonderful start to 2024.
What an amazing 2024 planner line up! Really love the illustrated one as it would help me with white page paralysis 😂 As always beautiful content! May you attain your goals in 2024 ❣️✨
Hey, sorry for the late reply! I took a break due to illness and forgot to reply to comments. I'm back and better now 🙂 I hope you are having a wonderful start to the new year 🩵
what a gorgeous lineup for 2024!! 😍💖 I've been so excited for this video, and absolutely loved it. I totally hear you on spending a lot of time thinking through next year's lineup, and I love hearing your thought process behind each of your items ~ you've given every detail so much careful and admirable consideration, which is really inspiring me! I've been gravitating to the simplicity of functional planning too for 2024, even more than from this year. I also love how you've been doing a trial run of your systems ~ that's something that's been helping me this month too, trying out my system plans in advance of the new year, and it's been helping so much! so, so gorgeous, and I can't wait to see how you continue to use your lineup in 2024. wishing you a lovely holiday and beautiful new year!! 🎄🌟💐
Hi Jen, I spent so much time to determine my 2024 lineup- probably a little too much! (But alas, that is what planner season is for haha.) I hope I can stick to my notebooks too, my worry is always about keeping up. I almost added a hobonichi original techo for a daily but I know that it’ll be too much for me. The Traveler’s Notebook is so amazing, I think it’s my current planner peace because we can make it however we want. Have a wonderful holiday season and can’t wait to see more videos from you in 2024! ✨🥂🎄
that little ceramic house is so cute! as always i love when you talk about the planners you're using. i am sticking to only three next year and hopefully that will be enough to handle being up to date with them. that hobonichi is gorgeous!!! this is the first year that i won't be using my traveler's notebook. it's kind of bittersweet but i just was overwhelmed last year trying to keep up with it. i'm in love with your customized TN! oh my gosh I FEEL YOU when i see cute things!! totally understand hahha
I think 3 is the magic number for me too when it comes to notebooks and planners! I hope I can stick to mine as well. I seem to always want to change it up 6 months in - which is fine I think as we are only human! And yes, the key is to create a system that is simple enough to keep up with - it always helps me. That’s why I didn’t get a daily this year. I think I’ll eventually get the itch to but we will see. Thanks for watching! 💕
oh my goodness, that's the exact toyooka craft case(?) I'm interested in. I'm so excited for your next video re: the unboxing, ordering process, and impressions/set up. Thanks for the little preview >u
I love TNs, I think it's so versatile. But the weeks is so much more compact for EDC. There is a smaller passport size TN too but it's not as popular I think.

Your TNR custom is amazing! Although I couldn't understand all the words because I’m Japanese, I really enjoyed it.
The tiger patch is really cool!
Oh, thank you so much! 🙂

I'll have to check it out, as I've never heard of Remarkable 2. I think I've seen something similar. Thx so much for watching my video 🧡

Yes, I have sensitive eyes so that's probably why I prefer cream paper :) thx so much for watching!
Lovely lineup! I really like the idea of imperfect ("real") inserts 🥰 And can't wait to get my custom TSL!
Oops, been so bad with RUclips replies, thx so much as always 🧡 Hope you are having a wonderful start to the year 🐉
I mix up things I'm grateful for and wins (big or little) in one of my memory keeping journals/planners 😊
I love that idea of tracking big and small wins ⚡️🩵

Where did you get that tiger patch? It’s beautiful! Is it a stick on patch?
Hey, it’s a patch from The Superior Labor. Some retailers that sell T.S.L. Products will have it.

Awesome setup Tiff.

I’m using my weeks and a Laura Daniels (new to me) but you are making me want to break out m TN again.

What is the brand of the diary? Tnx❤
