As always, Matt! Love the videos on these things! I did get the EB55 based off your older reviews, it’s been absolutely great! Right now the the Ac180 is only 650 bucks, would you recommend the AC180 without solar panel for 650 or the AC70 with solar panel for 700? I really want to like Bluetti but I've had THREE of their products go bad on me and was ghosted by them EACH TIME when trying to get them to honor their warranty. Disgusting customer service. It turns out it's apparently a regular thing for Bluetti to make warranty repair as difficult as possible. Don't take my word for it. You can easily google "Bluetti warranty problems " and you'll get post after post of their garbage customer service...unless you have a semi large youtube or social media...then they are quick as lighting to respond.
@@jeremiah1797no they ghosted him did you read? I have the same bought 2 batteries and the cooling fans stopped working after 6 months, they told me to take pics give them all this information just for them to not reply. After asking for the information. Amazon refunded me because I showed them proof of negligence on their side. I bought it through amazon lucky me I guess.
They’re on sale right now for $649. I just bought two of them instead of the AC200. It has all the watts I need for input and output, so I didn’t need the extra watt output from the AC200. The storage is actually a tiny bit more with two of these than the AC200. That allows me to be charging one in the sun while I’m parked in the shade using the other one keeping my fridge cold. I’ll use the 420 watt fold up solar panel to keep them charged.
crap load of people got screwed on an amazon Canada deal where Bluetti seemed to give a great discount but then cancelled all the orders. they were messing with the search algorithms.
Ha I almost bought a $3600 package ecoflow delta pro and 400w Solar panel…. Wife laughed at me. Said I could since she has a check coming in… but I don’t need it. Bye bye prime day
I'll be buying one BUT one of my pet peeves is they put FOUR soon to be outdated usb-A and ONE C-type port. MacBooks, PC's, tablets, Androids, + the upcoming iPhone 15, ALL have moved on to USB C for power. Just One C port? So of all those devices, I can only power or charge one at a time while 4 old type A-ports sit idle. Duh. Nice unit tho. Nice review.
That looks a lot easier to carry than my ap200. I'm 5'1" and I got the ap200 because I THOUGHT I was gonna take it every where with me until I realized I can only lift it, but not carry it (e.g. carry and walk with it). So, wherever it ended up as a home base unit and does not travel with me because I do not have a man to carry heavy things for me. So, I opted out for eb70s because they stopped carrying the one that looks like a suitcase shape with 1000watts. I also have the eb55, but I needed more power, though I appreciate it for what it is.
Thank you Matt for sharing the latest and greatest! I've said the same thing which was the missing mid size Bluetti. I believe a 1000 watt is the best all around size. For two reasons 1) Weight 2) Enough power with power in the bank (cloudy days). I also believe the benefit of 2 1000 watt units are you can use each for different systems plus have the convenience of easy to carry around and if one fails you still have power. We just picked up our second AC200 (MAX) for our Purpose Built Adventure Rig. While we could have built a Victron System it's still cheaper to just buy a all in one system. Cheaper, lighter and you can take it any place just like a boom box. 😂 Bluetti just keeps pushing the offerings! I personally feel currently they're really #1 with EcoFlow right behind them. Thank you for your comment, Mark! I completely agree with your points about the benefits of a mid-size power station like the Bluetti AC180. @ErvigHenry Never heard of them. After having an off brand powerstation which a company sent us and lasted 8 months. Nope! That company was non responsive after we had issues and I wasn't the only one. I'd rather spend a bit more money for a quilty product. Not saying what your suggestions isn't worth the $$$. I'm just not going to try to find out nor would I recommend something I've never used. Hope it works out well for you. I'll stick with name brand products with a good track record and strong warranty. That's why we only use and purchase powerstation from Bluetti. Up to 5 year warranty based on the model.
I just bought this a few days ago! Just waiting for it to come in. Looking forward to use it on my 12 day 9 state overland trip. And yes I have two 200w solar panels on my rtt lol constant charge.
I own several Bluettis. AC200 EB240 EB150 AC60 w B80P 5 EB3As. I smoked 1 EB3A’s. This was September 2023. I emailed bluetti service. I was emailed a shipment label. I had a new EB3A in 3 weeks.
Hey Matt, one thing you should test with these when you get a chance is the cold performance. I have an issue with my Bluetti EB70s, in colder mornings at camp (40-50 degrees and under) if I try to draw a decent load on it, like using my collapsible kettle, pulling 600-700 watts, the battery instantly goes to zero charge and stops working on me. It won't work until I put it on the charger for a while. I'm afraid to purchase something like this if it won't work in moderate cold temps.
My AC200Max does the same on winter mornings, from 90-something to zero overnight. Apparently it's issues with the BMS reporting the battery level. I found the issue goes away if you just don't turn it off! I leave my DC outputs on all the time now, this prevents the unit from turning off, and seems to have a neglibile parasitic load (even my crappy, ill-placed solar setup negates it). Only turn the AC on when you need it, though!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures well, it is designed to do that because it’s a safety feature Lipo4 batteries can’t operate in freezing temps. My eb55 does this in super cold mornings. To prevent this I would recommend putting some reflective bubble wrap around it. If you know it’s going to be cold and problem solved also good for the battery health in general and should be done regardless. Also, this applies to keeping your battery in a very hot location (shed/car) you should not exceed 115°.
A year later...how are you finding it? I just bought one for a discount at 1100. I found it amazing, gonna make being homeless a little bit easier for me...
Question... I'm looking to purchase the AC180, this will be my first Bluetti device, & was also going to purchase the T-500AC adapter to be able to charge the AC180 directly from my trucks AC output as you did in the video. According to the specs, this shouldn't be an issue. I contacted Bluetti directly, which was a bit of a pain as I had to call 3 times to get someone who speaks English well enough to understand what I was asking. The 3rd person understood, put me on hold for a few minutes & eventually told me that they recommended not using the adapter through an inverter that was not pure sine as it could damage the adapter. She also told me that doing this would void the warranty on the adapter & AC180. Could you give me some insight on this?
That does look like a sweet size power station. That's wild it can charge that fast! In our group we have the EB3A, EB55 and AC200max. One trick we have done in our rigs is to duel charge them. Charge AC power with an inverter and then DC through a 12V port. But we boosted our 12V to 24V. Getting a combined 380watts into the EB55 so can charge that in under 90 minutes. Then we are getting 660watts into the AC200max. Not bad for vehicle charging and much better than the standard 100w most people do in their rigs. If you have any of the other Bluetti systems I highly recommend looking into duel charging them and adding a 24V booster wired up correctly.
Hey Matt great review, this looks like the answer to my power problem. I spoke with you and asked you @Moore about your aux battery set up... i am glad i waited to purchase anything, THIS AC180 could live in the bed of my firecracker RED version of Sully, under the metal roll up bed cover, and with a decent sized solar panel on the black rhino pioneer rack on the cab keeping it topped off, i shouldn't have to worry about power again... can the Buetti accept multiple power inputs at same time ( like solar and dc power when truck is running) and/or switch between what input power it is being fed? (or do i still need some sort of charge controller {REDARC, KINGS etc.}) thanks in advance for any input, and keep up the great content...
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures but the JT does not have the required sine wave inverter on board... can one buy just the "brick" power cord as shown in the vid from Blueti as a work around?
Great review Matt, following along with the same question. Can you charge with a/c in put in a vehicle outlet along with solar w/o swapping the power input? I was wondering if there was only one source allowed at a time. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
This is about ideal for a medium home backup unit (especially considering the price) since it can power almost everything. Pair it with a 2 to 2.5kW inverter generator as a way to charge it and you have a great combo for long outages.
@@02532gary I would suggest you return it and buy an ANKER or something. The BLUETTI device has a MAJOR security vulnerability. The bluetooth is always enabled when the device is powered on and it is not secured by any authentication or prompt on the device. There is also no way to disable the bluetooth. This means that anyone can connect to the device using the app via the bluetooth interface and control the power station (turn on/off power). This becomes a vulnerability in that critical systems can be turned off, systems that are required for animals (automated feeding systems, fish tank aerators) can be affected putting the wellbeing and life of animals at risk, and at worst, any medical devices can be turned off with a risk to human life.

The next time they tell me I can't, I'll tell them that I didn't use the outlet at home, I used this device).
But only one 12v output rated at 10 amps.... Why Bluetti!? Would have been bomb to have a dedicated 25 amp output like the larger models. This can't run diesel heaters or 12v air compressors.
Nice review! To give you an idea on price, I've purchased one here in Australia. The introductory price was $1200aud that's about $800usd at the current exchange rate.

one problem with getting a b80 battery is they cost about the same as another ac180. Especially when you catch the ac180 on sale which happens many times during the year.
They should have had an Anderson plug for the 12v input and allowed a lot more than 10amp input. For perspective DC2DC chargers can allow up to 50 amp input.
Hey Matt your awesome. On my jeep i ran 8 guage wire on a 50 amp fuse to the rear of my jeep. I run a 300 watt pure sine best tech inverter and get 268 watts. Bluetti ac180 set on silent charge mode
Unless I missed it in your description, it looks like the outlets are 20amp? yay! That makes this work with my RV adapter taking my 30amp to 20amp for basic use (non AC) in my trailer.
The reviews of their customer service and warranty should be looked up. A large percentage of the reviews talk about bad experiences and the warranty not being honored.
Great Video at a great time. I'm getting ready add a fridge and power station. I was going to go with a different brand because I was thinking the bluetti 70 would work most of the time but I would be worried about being close to running out on some trips. The 200max is way more than what I will ever need, why would I pay the cost for the 200max if I wasn't going to ever use all the power from it. To me, that would be a waste of money. If I get the 180, and for some reason down the road I needed more power, I will just pick up the battery pack for the 180. So now, I'm back to looking at the bluetti again. I will be watching for this. As for USB ports, you can never have enough. I'm looking to add 4 more permanent ones to my JK as soon as I come up with a way to add them and make them look like a factory install. Even my camp lights that are also a bug/mosquito light, only charge with USB. Thanks Matt. Great timing video for me!
I recently got one. Mine charges at 1450 watts from factory, do I need to set it to lower charging? Using it for oass through power for fridge as marina looses power sometimes, and it will give me enough power on the hook to make my coffee and breakfast, microwave/ air fryer and run fridge overnight. 599
The problem you can charge with a dc to dc charger off your alternator and solar. You have to manually unplug one and plug in the other. It’s a total pain!
Hey Matt, mine just came in the mail. Question for ya. Is there a click sound when you turn the AC on & off? Noticed mine makes a click sound and was just making sure it’s supposed to do that.
It depends on what kind of kettle. I've used one 600 Watts, 800 watt surge, no problems. I'll be looking for an even lower watt kettle to ensure the safety of the unit. It's been my favorite bluetti so far since I got it.

Thank you !! I obtained a Bluetti AC70 and was counting on its Power Lifting claim to run my Ninja Foodie Digital Air Fry Oven (Model FT205CCO) on Camping trips. Sadly the AC70 did not power the Oven properly at all. While in Power Lifting mode (claimed to handle 2000 Watt Loads); the Bluetti turned on the Oven .... but nothing got cooked. :(( I used a Kill-a-Watt meter to monitor the power, while on House juice, and the Oven cycled up to 1560 Watts. while cooking stuff. Connected to the Bluetti AC70, the Oven failed to cook anything; and the AC70 power output reading didn't get much above 900 watts. Your video finally cleared up this mystery for me. Thank you !!! ie: It seemed to me that the AC70 Bluetti seriously drops the voltage; and attempts to create an illusion of powering a 2000 Watt device. AND, you confirmed that for me. I was also hoping to use the Bluetti AC70 to run my HAM gear; but I see no way to get enough power out of this unit without using a separate 120VAC power supply. Typically my gear runs on 12 ~ 13.8 VDA, at over 20 Amps; so the AC70 Cigarette Lighter Port at 10Amps falls short. Buying a separate 120VAC to 12VDC power supply just adds more boxes. Do you know of a Bluetti model, or Bluetti adapter, that provides more serious access to 12 VDC power from an Bluetti ?? I am trying to avoid buying a LiFEPO4 battery; pure AC Inverter; etc to DIY a solution.
Anyone tried charging the AC180 with a generator, Iv'e read that some of the Bluetti's don't like generator power. Haven't seen anyone trying it on RUclips.
@t.d.harris1311 Yes and works fine. Even takes the absolutely broken waveform from the Ford 2KW Power On-board system and charges. It also has a "my input power sucks" mode which is ideal for the horrible Ford inverter.

Drive me crazy that they used the barrel connector on this and not the xt60 they use on their other new models. Say like the new AC70. We may end up going with the AC70 over the 180 because of some changes we like better. Of course its a bunch of less power. That said either of these or all units need some sort of high amperage DC output like a xt60 output. So one could use to tie into mobile systems and switches for any of our vehicle, camper usage. Instead of going through an inverter for dc usage..

It turns out it's apparently a regular thing for Bluetti to make warranty repair as difficult as possible. Don't take my word for it. You can easily google "Bluetti warranty problems " and you'll get post after post of their garbage customer service...unless you have a semi large youtube or social media...then they are quick as lighting to respond.
thats mess up. did they solve your issues.
Same here. Bluetti has terrible customer service.
I would agree. There is no customer service.
In my case both numbers provided to leave a message the mailboxes were full. It's not "garbage customer service, it simply doesn't exist...
Where did you find 420watt ??
@@otuagoma
That’s the rated output of my Bluetti portable solar panel. That’s under ideal conditions, so the actual output is a bit less.
It’s these videos that make my wife mad at you. She knows what’s coming next when I watch these: “Hey honey, I need one of these.” Ha!! Good review.
Ha I almost bought a $3600 package ecoflow delta pro and 400w Solar panel…. Wife laughed at me. Said I could since she has a check coming in… but I don’t need it. Bye bye prime day

Mate. Just buy it. You most likely earn your share. If she don't like it, marry the bluetti. She won't talk back.
One thing Bluetti could take from Vtoman is a little lid and storage area in the top for the cables.
Bluetti just keeps pushing the offerings! I personally feel currently they're really #1 with EcoFlow right behind them.

Thank you for your comment, Mark! I completely agree with your points about the benefits of a mid-size power station like the Bluetti AC180. It's great to have a reliable power source for camping and outdoor adventures. Have you heard about the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It offers massive capacity, fast recharging, and versatile sockets, making it a fantastic choice for outdoor enthusiasts like us. I highly recommend checking it out for your Purpose Built Adventure Rig! Happy camping!
@@worldcomicsreview354 Thanks. I’ll try this.
It’s not supposed to do that.
Just received mine. In Australia the super early bird price is A$1179, that’s about 780 USD, which is very competitive.

Which version of the T-500AC did you buy and how is it working?
Wow, great tip! Thank you!
The Bluetti only has one DC input so there’s no way to connect two charging methods other than AC and DC and the AC will always be faster.
EXACTLY one of my planned uses. Bought it yesterday.
@@markfen88 - Anker brand was made by an ex-Google guy, and they sold supposedly "secure" home security cameras but OOPS, they still uploaded to the cloud when they said they did not!! Eufy cameras by Anker....

But only one 12v output rated at 10 amps.... Why Bluetti!? Would have been bomb to have a dedicated 25 amp output like the larger models. This can't run diesel heaters or 12v air compressors.
It runs my diesel heater just fine.

No issues yet.
This is the system I want to use for my barn power needs. 1800 watts will be great for the short term uses I foresee. Take my money!
one problem with getting a b80 battery is they cost about the same as another ac180. Especially when you catch the ac180 on sale which happens many times during the year.
They should have had an Anderson plug for the 12v input and allowed a lot more than 10amp input. For perspective DC2DC chargers can allow up to 50 amp input.
Hi Matt, I hope all is well? The Bluetti is a very nice product. Thank you for sharing!😊
Can you plug in your RV shoreline to this? If not a built-in plug outlet for an RV will an adapter work?
Hey Matt your awesome. On my jeep i ran 8 guage wire on a 50 amp fuse to the rear of my jeep. I run a 300 watt pure sine best tech inverter and get 268 watts. Bluetti ac180 set on silent charge mode
Just curious, does this thing have an 1800 watt pure sine inverter inside? I can’t find that anywhere…
yes. all power stations have pure sine inverters these days.
No sticker in the box?! I'll pass.
😂😂
Unless I missed it in your description, it looks like the outlets are 20amp? yay! That makes this work with my RV adapter taking my 30amp to 20amp for basic use (non AC) in my trailer.
The reviews of their customer service and warranty should be looked up. A large percentage of the reviews talk about bad experiences and the warranty not being honored.
Hopefully Bluetti realese with a better price than his little brother the AC 60 .400 watts hours for 600 dollars is no sense
I'm shocked by how small it is! Thought it would be much bigger. It'd be worth considering if I hadn't just splurged on a Wave 2
Well, Black Friday sale price is $649 in case you want one still. 😊
I wonder how much power would draw if you plugged in an 8-quart Instant Pot and ran it for 60 minutes.

Loved the review. Bought one yesterday.
I recently got one. Mine charges at 1450 watts from factory, do I need to set it to lower charging? Ok, I've looked over manual, yes I need to take it out of eco mode.
Yes. That’s the inverter turning on.
The Vtoman Flashspeed crushes the Bluetti for price and capacity
Never heard of it.
Are you sure this is expandable? I have one and do not see a port to connect an expansion battery
Yes, just look at the website and you'll see that it is. You just need an extra cord to work with one of the many expansion batteries Bluetti makes.
I ordered this unit because I can definitely carry 30ish lbs.
I look forward to being able to use my electric kettle.

I used a Kill-a-Watt meter to monitor the power, while on House juice, and the Oven cycled up to 1560 Watts. while cooking stuff.
Can you connect two of the AC180 to provide 220 volts...is that even possible?
No
Just ordered this for 550 on prime day after Beryl
Anyone tried charging the AC180 with a generator, Iv'e read that some of the Bluetti's don't like generator power. Haven't seen anyone trying it on RUclips.
@t.d.harris1311 Yes and works fine. Even takes the absolutely broken waveform from the Ford 2KW Power On-board system and charges. It also has a "my input power sucks" mode which is ideal for the horrible Ford inverter.

Can this be charged with the Bluetti SP 200 solar panel?
Definitely!
How long will this hold a full charge?
