    I have been to PVR many times and gone through the whole airport experience many times and you really explained the best of any RUclipsr I've ever read.

    Thank you for such an informative video… my wife and I arrive in PV on March 15th, coming from Australia. We have pre-booked two weeks Accom in PV, and plan to visit the coastal towns south of the city, plus two smaller interior towns north east of PV.
    Do you have any suggestions for getting to and from the smaller towns of Mascota and San Sebastián… but I guess we will find out more when we arrive in the city. Might see you both around town… really enjoying your videos. Dave & Miranda, Byron Bay, Australia.

    Thank you for this video. Many websites / RUclips videos mention the bridge, but this is this first one I have seen that shows where the bridge is an how short it is.

    I knew it! ... I knew the minute you said "we are gonna go down and eat..." that you were going to say "Tacón de Marlin" ... those tacos are famous. I always eat Marlin tacos in there. I'm from Guadalajara and my family go to PV every year since I was born to the hotel Los Tules. Now I'm 39 years old, so I feel it like HOME. I've seen how the city grows, I just love been there, and how people like you appreciate it. I know there are more beautiful beaches and places in México, but there´s something special about PV. It´s also true that we have a lot of issues and problems in this country as you already know.... but... how not to love and be proud of my PV. Nice videos (already see the others) and I hope you have a great retirement in México.

      Living Simply in Mexico had to come back to say thank you again, Tacon de Marlin was such a great first meal and these tips were so helpful. We are back home to the snowy Black Hills of SoDak as of yesterday, and already thinking about another trip to Mexico. The people there are absolutely amazing. We’ll be back!!

      budgetspiffybiscuits Great you had a wonderful trip and tried the burritas at Tacon de Marlin! Enjoy the Black Hills (Stefan here) I grew up in Iowa and fondly remember family trips up to the Black Hills when I was a kid! The best part of ending one trip is planning for the next... Have fun!

    Thank you for the video as I watched it prior to departing for PV. I used the ATM in airport (HSBC) and was debited $307 for $5500 Pesos. I did walk across the bridge and took a cab to San Pancho for 600 Pesos. And yes, the Marlin burrito was awesome.
    By the way, I recommend everyone eat before heading to airport as restaurants and fast food inside are rather expensive (110 Pesos for slice of pizza at Sbarros).

      sdsissom Thanks for the update! When we first started taking Uber, they picked up at the bus stop, then later across the way, now back at the bus stop? If so, great! Last week they picked us up across the bridge as usual, but that might have been just because we were there.

    We are in PV now we will just walk past the the guard shack by the rental car place and catch a cab leaving after dropping off their passengers 80 pesos to get to the hotel zone.
    I heard the airport charges the cab company a outrageous fee to pick up and drop passengers so as long as your off the airport property you can get a good cab fare rate

    We are lucky to fly from Tijuana via Volaris, so no customs line on the P.V. side. If you know of anyone looking for a great inexpensive hotel, we just spent a week at the Hotel Suites La Siesta, where we had a wonderful apartment style room on the top floor overlooking all of Puerto Vallarta from the south to the north. The El Panorama restaurant on the 7th floor was okay for a splurge. Our taxi fare from the airport to hotel was MX180.00 plus tip, so for us a great deal. We returned to the Amaca Hotel where we stayed last year, and once again, they had those little tamale shaped candies from Guadalajara, with tamarindo chews inside. Really cute, but impossible to find! :( We also discovered a little restaurant called Fiesta Mexicana just down the stairs from our hotel which served up some very inexpensive and delicious meals. Oh, and the Ley market with their food to go section was wonderful as always!

      Filbert V great info! We stayed at La Siesta when we put an offer on our house. A wonderful place. In the summer I don’t think it has AC, but otherwise great!

      Uber is a little harder to come by (takes longer and more surge pricing). Drivers are now using InDriver where you have to pay cash. InDriver takes 10% vs Uber’s 40%. InDriver is technically not legal with less protections, but works well. If cautious, go with Uber, a taxi, or a bus. Not much else has changed. Have a good trip!

    Great Vid! You are traveling with a guitar...in a gig bag?? Wha??? How do you do it? I'm guessing it is NOT checked luggage! Cost extra to carry on? As a guitar player also I would love to know.

    • @LivingSimplyinMexico
      @LivingSimplyinMexico  5 лет назад +1

      L Hill Just an old Spanish guitar- We figured something good to have down south to play while watching the sun set! Surprisingly airline carry on policies for instruments are very liberal... Here is Southwest’s policy as an example: “If your musical instrument (including case or covering) exceeds the sizing requirements for carryon items (10"x16"x24"), it can be carried onboard if it will fit in an overhead bin or under a seat onboard the aircraft and there is space available when you board the aircraft for the instrument.” Enjoy and keep on playing!

      Sorry saw this late. Best to bring your prescription and keep any drugs in bottles. Highly improbable, but you can check to see if any of your drugs are banned in Mexico.

    How do you call an Uber? Do you use the airport WiFi or get international data? (For non T-Mobile users)

    • @LivingSimplyinMexico
      @LivingSimplyinMexico  4 года назад +1

      Kelli Strong We have an AT&T North America plan that is the same across the US, Mexico, and Canada. AT&T has really strong infrastructure here. You can also buy a SIM card or do an international package from your carrier. When we go outside of North America they have an unlimited $10 / day plan. Pretty expensive, but great for short trips. The airport does have wifi, but we have not used it. Cheers.

      Yes, you’ll walk through it on your return, but suspect you’d get better prices locally.

    Hola vecinos...from Jerry up the hill... those long lines are very rare..have seen that maybe twice in 8 years.. and I fly in and out every 3 months... . but I am thinking this time they are trying to get people to exchange money...so we're all being paraded by the exchange windows....They change around the customs platform fairly often for some reason... and I actually take a shot of the tequila/rita... say Viva Mexico and keep walking.. they don't like it.. but boo hoo... and then I walk to the skybridge and take a cheaper taxi.... easy peasy....
